    I really liked those shots where the camera was sitting on various parts of the vehicle while you swung out the tire, opened the hatch, slid out the fridge, etc. I've never seen anyone else do that step-by-step so meticulously. You have a talent of putting the viewers smack dab in the action, without any shocking cuts. It makes it feel like we are actually there, participating in your every move.

      Thanks so much for noticing that. That's what's so fun about running with other film makers; it's inspiring to try fresh stuff!

    My wife and I got a chuckle out of the Arby’s scene. We too have had the “too much Arby’s Sauce and no napkins” experience! I enjoy watching your experiences!

    Love your videos....the interactions between Sarah, Caroline, and yourself are what really set your videos apart from the thousands of other channels about overlanding that all tend to look the same.

    I am so glad you mentioned the trash. I just spent 4 days in Custer-Gallatin NF and found only 2 pieces of trash. A small candy wrapper and a half box of Chips-Ahoy. I think the message is getting out there! Unfortunately, it hasn’t reached MN yet. Our public lands are a mess. Thanks for all you do.

    I love these little places you show us. The fig may be cold and damp, it might not be good for filming, and I'd rather not drive in it but it sure is pretty.

    About the tent - backpacker advice, no matter a $99 or $4K tent set it up and "seam grip" each seam and test it with hose or sprinklers (wear available) water at home. Been doing this for decades. It may not be the prettiest PM care but will keep you dry. Now overlanding has a little less risk if weather gets you than backpacking but seemed like a good platform to share.

    • @LifestyleOverland
      @LifestyleOverland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would work if it was an exposed seam but that tape prevents the sealant from entering the stitches. You might get a bit better tape-to-canvas bond but with those voids behind it water will just gather and start to mold/mildew with no way to escape.

    Just curious have you got your ftm400 hooked to you iPad or is it stand alone. Recent trip to NC I was watching the elevation change with mine. I do keep my aprs on and watch to see who is around. I'm wanting to hook up an iPad I have here and view the map as well. I have the blue tooth set up for a hands free ear piece.

    Love the video, especially Jason finding a hammer. Anyway, I'm wondering if you moved your backup camera when you added the swing arm with the spare tire, or if you just ignore it with the tire in the way? If you moved it, what kit did you use?

    • @LifestyleOverland
      @LifestyleOverland  ปีที่แล้ว

      I previously had it relocated to the swing arm with the SSO rear bumper. I haven't had the chance to fabricate a new spot with the fresh AFN bumpers though. I prefer my mirrors anyhow, lol

    Honest thoughts....I too have a 5th gen 4runner and am debating between a full rear bumper or the RIGD hitch system like Jason has. Any pro vs con advice here? Been following you forever and appreciate your candid and transparent advise!

    Love watching your content. Great narration and music. What music do you use? Do you have to pay to use the music? My wife was just commenting how the music you use is always perfect for the scenes. You truely are gifted with how you put these together.

    • @LifestyleOverland
      @LifestyleOverland  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yes, we pay for a couple premium services like musicbed.com and artist.io to use licensed (and better) music than the free stuff out there. Makes a huge difference.

      We found a big drop down receiver that I sold at auction for 85 bucks. But a couple days ago I went down a little dirt road and turned around and I met a truck/trailer and on my way back out there was a 2 inch strap with ratchet looke brand new. It had to fallen off that truck I met coming in

    As a lifelong fisherman I can not understand why u guys don’t do any fishing. I don’t want any political rants back but the way it’s set up now is if u get caught fishing with out a fishing license u get in more trouble than crossing the border illegally (in to the USA)
