I loved A Broken Blade! I’m on the third book and shocked at how much I like it. It’s definitely more plot than romance though, so keep that in mind if you read it!
Info regarding Peace & Turmoil (from someone who has been a long time fan of Elliot Brooks' channel) - she mentioned relatively recently in a video that the audiobook for the first book is currently in production and that it will be out, if I am remembering correctly, sometime next year. I thought that that info might help 😊
I've owned Raven Tower and Peace & Turmoil for quite a while on Kindle but also haven't read(along with too many others to count) but a major one I've wanted to dive into but haven't is The Pillars of the Earth series. Someday.
I know Becca really likes A Promise of Fire, and as far as the Broken Blade goes, I’ve heard it’s an awful lot like the Throne of Glass. Having not read either one I can’t say for sure. I do really love this way of getting rid of books that have been around d for a bit!
always satisfying making more space on the shelf - one way or another lol! :) when it comes to towers, raven was mid for me, but I enjoyed obsidian more.
The Shadow of the Wind is the oldest book on my shelves that I haven’t read. I don’t even consider it on my tbr but I bought it on a trip so I don’t want to get rid of it 😭
I loved A Broken Blade. I thought it was better than every other assassin story because it feels more realistic with why she has her skills and the challenges she faces. I highly recommend the series and especially the audiobook.
Also I am interested in hearing your thoughts on Promise of Fire. I actually bought it because of one of your videos and still haven’t gotten to it yet lol.
Please do yourself a favour and read Peace and Turmoil because that is seriously soooo good! A little denser to get into, but once you're settled, it's amazing. Hope you enjoy all the others if you get to them, super curious if there will be any hidden gems in there!!
I loved Furyborn! I read the first two books and devoured them. Still need to finish the series. But it’s also a YA series and I know you don’t normally read YA so I get it. I DNFed A Crown of Ivy and Glass. I couldn’t stand the FMC.
I am doing it with you and made a list of 12 books that will self destruct if I don’t read them in a year. One of the ones I put on there was The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman. It sounds like something I would love but I haven’t been able to read it. I tried it a while ago and found the beginning super slow and soft DNF’d it. I also bought it like 2+ years ago.
I love the self distracting book concept I just never commit to it myself because I can't read all my TBR in a year but if I were to chose it would be Dance of thieves by Mary E Pearson. I read the kiss of deception series and was obsessed but never picked up the spin off because I want to do a reread. I bought dance of thieves the year it came out so it's been a good 5 years if not more.
I should say Locke Lamora because it’s the oldest book on my TBR and I need a push. But going with the Mortal Follies freebie we got at Apollycon. Theoretically want to try it but never get the actual urge.
The only one of these that I've read is The Raven Tower, which I very much enjoyed and I would recommend, but maybe when you are in the mood for something a bit different (the narrator is a rock. Like an actual rock. Also a god, but a rock.) If I had to pick a book from my own shelves to self-destruct I would probably go with Dune, or The Pillars of the Earth and The Evening and the Morning if I can use the a series counts as one rule.
The Obsidian Tower is a secondary series to The Tethered Mage. I really enjoy both series. A Broken Blade is good, but the second book rubbed me the wrong way. It doesn't deal with the MCs trauma well. I hated A Promise of Fire. 🙈
I have so many books that have been sitting on my shelf forever but one that I would probably put on a self destruct list is The Once And Future Witches by Alix E. Farrow and/ or The Secret History by Donna Tartt. Both have been on my Tbr for so long and I have had no interest in picking them up.
The nine live of chloe King is my self-destruct book I have until december to finish it. i am 203 pages through it but it is a 771 page book and I haven't picked it up in 3 months 😬
Jan through Feb might be a good time to read them. Get ready for spring cleaning and all. Why not do that with books that you need to read, or did a DNF and time to move them out of the house.
One book from my shelves that should be a self destruct in 1 year is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet. Got it for free but I still have no interest in picking it up.
@@CoverswithCassidy my family got me an Xbox and that game as a gift - the first video game into the house - my wife was watching me play, then she wanted a controller - and she was hooked.
Going to say I read the raven tower a few years ago, and I was not a fan, if you read it I’ll tell you why, if you don’t after the year I’ll tell you then if you want to know lol
too each their own, I unhaul often without reading. I trust thé opinions of ppl around me who have similiar taste. Too many books to read books I'm not interested in
Girlie did you put ADSOM in the thumbnail and not even pick it for the video cause I know that’s been sitting there for 3 years (you should probably just unhaul it cause you won’t like it) 😂
A wheel can chose some of them for you or you can make a challenge for your bottom shelf. It can be an interesting vlog
Great idea!
Words of radiance by Brandon Sanderson. That book terrifies me lol I love these self destruct challenges, good luck!!
I relate to this so hard
Oooo I loved the obsidian tower! Very fun but I never got around to continuing the series
I've actually had a few ppl comment similiar
Why not do several try a chapter videos with these books?
I loved A Broken Blade!
ooooh this is always good to hear!!!
I loved A Broken Blade, just waiting for book 4 to be released. Give it a go 😊
oh wow I didn't know it was 4 books
I also loved A Broken Blade! I think Kira is a great character with a lot of depth
I loved A Broken Blade! I’m on the third book and shocked at how much I like it. It’s definitely more plot than romance though, so keep that in mind if you read it!
This is really good to know!
I loved the Obsidian Tower! Hopefully you like it
Ooooh this is really good to know

oooooh the audio would be amazing, thank you so much for this info!!!!
Thanks for introducing Kerstin Espinosa Rosero. 🚪
Our pleasure!
Read Obsidian Tower!!! Because I also have it and haven’t read it yet, 😅 I keep getting distracted with other books
its so easy to not pick it up for some reason hahah
I loved the Amanda Bouchet book, in fact, the whole series.
Oooooh good to know
I absolutely love this idea!! 📚
It's so good!

I own and have most of these on my tbr.
ooooooohhh
I have heard really good things about The Raven Tower!
Oooh ppl telling me this is exactly what I need so I actually read it
The Raven Tower, The Obsidian Tower, A Promise of Fire, and Peace and Turmoil are all also on my physical tbr!! 😢
Oooooooooh
The Shadow of the Wind is the oldest book on my shelves that I haven’t read. I don’t even consider it on my tbr but I bought it on a trip so I don’t want to get rid of it 😭
100% fait the nostalgia books get you
I loved A Broken Blade. I thought it was better than every other assassin story because it feels more realistic with why she has her skills and the challenges she faces. I highly recommend the series and especially the audiobook.
This is good to know
Please read the Obsidian Tower! Melissa Caruso is one of my favorite authors and I highly recommend her work
Oooooh exciting
Also I am interested in hearing your thoughts on Promise of Fire. I actually bought it because of one of your videos and still haven’t gotten to it yet lol.
Maybe I need to do something like this because I know I have books on my tbr that have been there for a longggggggggggg time lol
It is very helpful!!
A Promise of Fire is good. I think you’ll like it since we tend to agree on Romantasy more then we both agree with Mel on that genre.
Ooooooooh
Please do yourself a favour and read Peace and Turmoil because that is seriously soooo good! A little denser to get into, but once you're settled, it's amazing. Hope you enjoy all the others if you get to them, super curious if there will be any hidden gems in there!!
How did I not know you had read this
@@CoverswithCassidy probs bc i read it all the way back in 2019 or 2020 or something lol

I loved the last housewife but it most certainly is very dark lol
Dark has me excited but I'm nervous it'll be too slow for me

oooooh I love that you made a list with meee
@@CoverswithCassidy yes I’m so glad as well. I have way too many books on my TBR 155 to be exact and I need to cut down on my list.
I love the self distracting book concept I just never commit to it myself because I can't read all my TBR in a year but if I were to chose it would be Dance of thieves by Mary E Pearson. I read the kiss of deception series and was obsessed but never picked up the spin off because I want to do a reread. That's a good one to put on your tbr then
House Of Leaves. I keep putting that book off and I’ve had it for 2 years lol
Ooooh this is a very valid one
I should say Locke Lamora because it’s the oldest book on my TBR and I need a push. But going with the Mortal Follies freebie we got at Apollycon. Theoretically want to try it but never get the actual urge.
I feel like locke really is yours
The Obsidian Tower is really good. I really enjoyed Peace & Turmoil as well, an epic political fantasy. I recommend them both.
Ooooooh yay this is what I need to hear to push to pick them up
Please read a promise of Fire! I highly recommend it.
I can't pick a book, but that's because I either know I'll read 'em at some point or because the ones I won't read are already gone☺
Very valid
I’d say The Night Circus because it’s been on my TBR for at least a year. I think I’m intimidated by it. 🚪
Ooooh that is an intimidating one
The only one of these that I've read is The Raven Tower, which I very much enjoyed and I would recommend, but maybe when you are in the mood for something a bit different (the narrator is a rock. The Obsidian Tower is a secondary series to The Tethered Mage. I really enjoy both series. A Broken Blade is good, but the second book rubbed me the wrong way. It doesn't deal with the MCs trauma well. I hated A Promise of Fire. 🙈
Oh I did not know those were set In the same world
I have so many books that have been sitting on my shelf forever but one that I would probably put on a self destruct list is The Once And Future Witches by Alix E. Farrow and/ or The Secret History by Donna Tartt. Both have been on my Tbr for so long and I have had no interest in picking them up.
ooooh the secret history is a scary one I get why its sat there so long
🚪I think my longest book I have had on my tbr is The Rise of Kyoshi. I am hoping to get to it next year because it has been intriguing me to read it.
I'm gonna follow back up in a year to see if you read it ;) jk
The nine live of chloe King is my self-destruct book I have until december to finish it. i am 203 pages through it but it is a 771 page book and I haven't picked it up in 3 months 😬
ooooooh you got soooo much leftttt it may self destruct
just brought A Crown of Ivy and Glass... maybe we can buddy read?
Jan through Feb might be a good time to read them. Get ready for spring cleaning and all. Why not do that with books that you need to read, or did a DNF and time to move them out of the house.
Spring cleaning it's still winter then😂
One book from my shelves that should be a self destruct in 1 year is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet. Got it for free but I still have no interest in picking it up.
Idek what that is I'm gonna have to look it up
🚪I wonder if Obsidian Tower is a word drop from Baulder's Gate?
Ooooh maybe i keep meaning to play baulders gate but haven't yet

What do you do with your unhauled books? Have you heard of pango?! You should resell them!
We do not have pango in Canada!
They either end up going to the library or value village
@@CoverswithCassidy Aww shame no Pango. But great to hear you are donating elsewhere. Love your vids!

I gave a broken blade a five star, I enjoyed it but for some reason have not read book two or three
Oooh i defs wanna know later
