    Thanks for posting this footage! It's always great to see old stuff circulate up to the surface. Bizarre to think this was 25 years ago, and yet I can't think of another ride that has aged so well. Thanks again!

      Alec Parker Seems like just yesterday, I can remember all the details of trying to lug my camera through the queue line…. ride is classic. I still have my decoder cards they would hand out so we could decipher the writing on the walls.

    Wow. This ride opened the year I was born and I rode it for the first time as an 8 year old in 2003. From what I’ve seen on TH-cam, it hasn’t really changed much.

    Awesome footage!! Also cool to see the falling ceiling effect.

    • @KeenaKindragon
      @KeenaKindragon  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      It was so cool when it worked back in the day... we'd ride it over and over just to "pull the pole" and watch the ceiling drop!

    • @DarkDoge
      @DarkDoge 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@KeenaKindragon I always scare people who don't pull it. I say "Hey, don't forget to pull the bamboo! *everyone stares at me all dumb and they keep walking. Of course I pull it and they all jolt* I told you to pull it folks. Same with the rope too.

      @@DarkDoge Ha ha that is great! The ROPE! I almost forgot... that one still works, right? You have some great footage on your channel.

      @@KeenaKindragon thanks! I have a new lens for the camera so when Disney reopens I'm gonna test it out.
      And yes the rope still works, however, people keep breaking the rope :(
      Like, badly. They break the material.

    This Video Proves how rough Indiana Jones Ride at Disneyland was if people read the darn warning signs if you have medical conditions you hold yourself reliable for triggering your health conditions not Disney. Disney return the ride to what I have remember very rough people need to hold accountable of there own actions. If you have a health condition in which it may get worse or trigger after riding any attraction don't ride then shut up don't sue Disney read the dang signs before boarding.

      eh... it's more understandable here than most rides. You used to come out with genuine bruises and feel like you survived a boxing ring. It's interesting because nowadays they wouldn't have to kill you to the get same results and probably could just engage haptics or something.

      In the early 2000’s it was still pretty rough. I remember going in 2009 & the ride seemed to be the same as it always was. The next year though is when there was a noticeable change. This was my favorite ride at Disneyland & I absolutely can’t stand that it’s been changed.

    Wow I can’t I’m seeing old footage from Indiana Jones when it first opened while I was still in my moms tummy while she was pregnant 🤰 with me . I’ve ridden Indy so many times as a kid

    It's funny how things back then seemed outrageous to only compare them to today and realize it wasn't so bad. 30 min wait for a new attraction was mind-blowing back then, to only wish the wait time today was only 30 min.....lol.

    This is great footage, thank you for this. One thing you can hear clearly in the ride footage is the waterfalls that used to be in the lava room when it was real water. The entire place used to smell like mildew!

    So awesome to see all the effects functioning! The LCU is right on time, the mist is abundant, and the falling ice “rocks” are working properly! Hearing the guests in the car discussing the steering wheel on the ride vehicle is interesting though? Did the steering wheel used to not spin? I haven’t seen discussions on that topic. Such a cool video though!

    • @KeenaKindragon
      @KeenaKindragon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!! When they first put it in, they didn’t have what became more like a real steering wheel. It was just like a placeholder until they could get the real ones in… so much fun to go on it back in those old days, tracking what was broken, the mistakes that were made, but there was so much then slowly bits and pieces just stopped all together.

    I have 2 different takeaways from this: 1. The price of admission at this time was $25, now it's like $150. 2.This ride marked the beginning of the end - for the old FLAT Disneyland parking lot. The park had to expand in order to accommodate this ride. By about 2003 or 2004 the parking structures were everywhere. GREAT RIDE.

    • @KeenaKindragon
      @KeenaKindragon  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It’s true, this was the beginning of a lot of changes, that’s for sure. The price has gone insane, everyone just has an annual pass now.

    Unfortunately, there are so many things different today on this ride. It's very sad. They should fix the effects and take it back to how it was.
