      The entire Family Stone doesn't get the recognition it deserves... including Sly. The Family Stone broke musical and social-political barriers but I guess revolution only matters to people when it divides, not unite.

    1974....my senior year in High School...the year Mr.Larry Graham dropped this little nuclear bomb of funk on the world of R&B/SOUL. Damn.....the memories! Every "Soul Train" clip I've seen on TH-cam was special in it's own right (God bless the memory of Don Cornelius). This video featured the original version of Graham Central Station....which made it even more special. I don't give a dead rat's ass that this performance was "lip-synced"...It's good to see Larry Graham under ANY circumstances.

    One of my favorite singers and bass players. Larrys voice just expressed soul like wow! I noticed how he dressed in the mid to late 70s reminds me of how Prince dressed from late 90s to early 2000s. That was the last phase of the jumpsuits and long hair. After that was the stylish suits! So fly!

Larry was singing "Babyface...Cutest little Babyface "before her guitar solo. they let some of us fans go backstage and I looked at him and gave him the biggest smile ever and he gave the biggest smile ever right back to me. i also got his autograph which I lost years later, I was also thrilled that we have the same birthday August 14th. I know that he doesn't celebrate it though due to his religion. I STILL LOVE YOU LARRY GRAHAMlll

    This is so awesome! The off lip sync and all. Nobody else could sport that wig but u Larry Graham and have me glued to the screen. So funky, so crazy and I love it. Your over the top phrasing and your underrated bass genius at its best. Cleaning the house music right here. I love my brown people - nobody can handle it - so much talent. Thanks for posting this. It took me way back......

    Memory: Seeing Graham Central Station at a small club called The Joint in the Woods, Parsippany, NJ in 1974. Hard to believe that was nearly 50 years ago! That place was a hot mess; the town was in an outrage over the double meaning of the name. They forced a name change; not long after the club burned to the ground, but this was all after I'd left NJ and returned to my native GA.
    Anyway, I absolutely loved this song. The music intro is so bittersweet and poignant; always evoked those feelings in me. Loved Larry Graham's voice. And gosh was he handsome, or what?!

    Here's some obscure trivia:
    On this day in 1913 {February 2nd} Grand Central Station in New York City officially opened at 12:01 AM; more than 150,000 people visited the largest terminal in the world on its opening day...
    And sixty-one years later on April 28th, 1974 Graham Central Station's debut charted record, "Can You Handle It?", entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #91; six weeks later on June 9th it would peak at #49 {for 1 week} and it stayed on the chart for 8 weeks...
    The Larry Graham led sextet had three more Top 100 records; "Your Love"* {#38 in 1975}, "It's Alright" {#92 in 1975}, and "The Jam" {#63 in 1976}...
    R.I.P. Don Cornelius {1936 - 2012} and Larry Graham, Jr. will celebrate his 70th birthday this coming August 14th {2016}...
    * "Your Love" reached #1 {for 1 week} on August 24th, 1975 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart...
