Apologies for the rough audio and visuals. I’m currently out of state but I wanted to get this out as soon as possible. My Celtics documentary is also on the way, I promise
Thank you. I wish I had done this. Growing up in LA I had plenty of heroes to look up to,Wilt,Elg, Sandy. But Jerry, because I read all of his biographies,I identified the most with. He will always be my favorite sports figure of all time.
That's a fantastic and heartbreaking, at the same time, letter, every basketball fan loved the logo, Mr Clutch Jerry West!!! I've seen a lot of similarities with you and I really understand your feelings, thank you so much for the memories 🙏🙏
Welcome back, Uncle Hays! It's great to see you. Your letter and video are so moving, heartfelt, powerful, and great. I am hard on myself, so what you said about how we all have times where we fall short but the real mark of a champion is getting back up really resonated with me. So did your quote by Jerry West about not getting much done if you only work on days where you feel good. I struggle with writer's block and figuring out some goals, so what you said inspires me to not give up and to keep working at my goals. Excellent video. Wonderful tribute to the late and great Jerry West. Again, welcome back!
RIP Jerry West. Had a career like no other. The Lakers franchise wouldn’t be what it is without him. The basketball world truly feels empty without him, his career really went deeper than basketball. I can’t express how what he means to the game. Basket heaven welcomes home another all time great. West, Baylor, and Wilt reunited again. Say hi to Kobe and the other greats. Live on forever 44.
Thank you for this tribute! As a 62-year-old, I really appreciate young people like yourself who have a great appreciation for players of the past. I'm a huge Celtics fan, and John Havlicek has always been my favorite player. But I love guys like Jerry West as well. When I was a kid shooting baskets in my driveway, I always pretended I was Jerry, Hondo or Oscar Robertson going up (barely) for the game-winning shot. I also have many basketball cards from that era as I collected them from '70 to '75. Now I'm so looking forward to your upcoming Celtics video. Keep up the great work.
Jerry West was truly one of the greatest legends in basketball, having 2 Hall of Fame careers as both a player and an executive. The NBA world will never be the same without him. Jerry, much love to you forever and always.💜💛🏀♾️

I know how you like to talk about more unknown players so Jeff Ruland would be cool. He’s super forgotten and had an interesting career from college to Europe and the U.S.

West is truly the most underrated player ever. He is a top 12 player ever. If you don't think he would dominate today, you do not know basketball.
