Hi George, it's me again! I Need some clarification please: In some of your video you set two tonemap, but not in this one. And it seems you haven't assigned "Environ" to the BKground-bitmap. Is there any reason why? Grazie! Ciao!
Multiple tonemaps are when I want to control separate maps for environment and direct visibility, or when I need to use spherical map and a screen map at the same time.
Hie there...l am new to virtual staging..any tips on adding a 360 panorama as a background for virtual staging in 3ds max..Any tips on 360 panorama virtual staging will be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance
Hi there I’m a beginner of 3ds. Followed your steps on 3ds 2020 and opened the image. But no matter how hard I try it was impossible to move the ground grid. How to move it please?
Hi Alexander. Thanks for your comment. I can think of a few things which may "lock" the grid (actually the grid is not moving, the camera is). Did you activated the 2D zoom option from the left top (plus) symbol? let me know how this goes Cheers
Hi George, very helpful videos, but my persepcitve match is not working well, when i pick an end point of either red or green the whole vanishing line moves, only the blue seems to work correctly, i..e i pick the end handler and position in the correct plance and it stays there, if i try to do with red/green the whole line moves, i just cannot get them to follow lines of room, I have the axis in the correct room, really frustrating, any idea what causes this?
Hello Tommy, thanks for your comment. This might be a few things: - your photo has been edited and distorted - your version of 3ds max (below 2021 has bugs) - your mouse might be too sensitive or has a fast-speed pointer. Are you using the photo I provided with this video?
@@GeorgeNicola thanks George for prompt reply, I'm on max 2022. photo- yes might have been distorted but in PS all lines look square, i'll try different mouse but no issues with mouse before, In the room i can get the vertical blues correct, and only one of the grren and red aligned properly, when i try to get the 2nd red or green correct it shits the other lines off their correct positions and Im just going around in circles, could i send you the file? happy to pay for assistance as this somehting that id like to get sorted, thanks, Tom
Good question: Because of the reflections and bouncing light. The image placed as background returns realistic light back into the scene which improves not only rendering but realism, too.
Hi Markclay2009, thanks for your question. You have likely activated the directionality option; if it's above 0.5, the light will appear black regardless of the other options. Cheers
HiGeorge! Again I ask you a question, when creating a Corona Camera from perspective match, 3ds max does not allow it. When I align everything perfectly from perspective, and exit the perspective match to create a Corona Camera, several perspective lines break, and it's a constant. Do you create a PhysCamera and render with that camera? Thanks again!!
Hi Matias. Correct, there is a strange bug or something which causes this. If you try to create corona camera or PhysCamera immediately after the perspective match, they destroy your progress. I have just finished another video with few tips where your question is answered as well. Cheers
Hi Chris, the latest video is up: th-cam.com/video/v7KHLMVeLSg/w-d-xo.html It covers how to get free models from the sketchup library and prepare them inside 3ds max.
Hi Thomas, this workflow works with V-ray although it's a bit different. You can take a look at this video: th-cam.com/video/aRs27wNTFO4/w-d-xo.html Let me know if it's useful.
HI George, Thanks for the tutorial, I am using every step but when render outside the window shows black and not the background image we are using, can you help me out as I have tried on other max versions as well and getting the same issue
Hello Anushka, the issue it's not caused by the version of the software but improper use of the maps. What do you use to render - corona render or v-ray?
Hi Radoslav. It's been a long time since I used Corona 1.7 and I can't remember if the Corona Tone Map was feature back then. But I do remember some of the maps had different names. Even if you don't have the Corona Tone Map, you still can use the virtual staging approach by using the PNG only with the original photo. Let me know if this helps.
Hi George. The tutorial is just amazing!!! I've been able to follow your suggestions and i already got a pretty good result... Except that I work with ARNOLD, and then... Well, i can not find the equivalent to Shaddow Catcher Material and Tone Mapper Control for Arnold!!! Can you please help me with this? Thank you very much! Pedro
Great to hear! I can check if there is a workable solution with Arnold renderer and if it is, I'll make a tutorial on how to use it. Thanks for your comment!
@@GeorgeNicola i've found the solution with the help of Arnorl for Autodesk Forum. You have to use Bitmap to Matte to Ray Switch Shader... I hope you can do the tutorial anyway, for more specific configuration sets and tips. Thank you very much! Pedro
This Technique works for all images? I tried it on some Images? But I couldn't get the desired results. The Z-axis remains out of alignment, even if x-y axis are properly aligned. For example, see this image. www.pexels.com/photo/photo-of-an-empty-room-3935338/ I tried a lot, but couldn't align it.. Can you please guide what is the issue?
Thanks for this perfect question! The perspective match technique works on all images (if the images are with fixed verticals). In the image you shared, I think those are correct. With your question in mind, I will create a quick video and stage the room and comment. Is there anything else? Cheers, George
@@GeorgeNicola Thanks for your quick response. It'll be more helpful, if you explain this issue through a video. Surely, I'll post the problems that I'll face during virtual staging process as comments on your videos to seek your guidance. Are you OK with it?
