    Nice, did you have to stabilise any of the spalting?

    this is brilliant- what are the white plastic trays called that you used as the container?

    Beautiful table and great work! Question: did you use the bottom face (that was in the mold) as your table top?

      Thank you! We process every side of the table after removing it from our molds, it is necessary!

    All of your projects look to turn out great. I’ve made almost 30 coffee tables and am having issues with them cupping when removed from the form. Have you encountered this issue and I so how do you prevent it from happening?

    I was wondering how do you like Rubio on spalted maple? I know a few people say since it’s a softer wood that it’s better to do a water base poly. Do you also find that Rubio yellows the maple?

    Not sure why, but it is always amazing how once the pigment hits the mixer, it spreads so fast and looks so badass! Is that a special paddle mixer for epoxy?

      It never seems to get old and is always satisfying to watch! It's just a paint mixing paddle.

    Thanks for all your videos. Seems like you left a part out though between casting and finishing.

      Hi Brad, we must have not recorded that part.

    Do you not sand it after removing from mold?

    What size mold is that? I just purchased the 24x48" mold from your website. Excited to try them out

      This was the 24" by 48" no seal form. It's great.

    So after the pour has cured and you break the form I’m curious what happens next. You always skip to the polishing step 😝 I know you sand for a smooth finish but do you sand flat down to wood or do you leave a thin layer of epoxy over the wood?

    • @jeffmackdesigns
      @jeffmackdesigns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      After we break the piece from the form we flatten it on the CNC. You can also use a router sled or send it through a planer. Then we sand it at 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 150 and 180 grit before applying Rubio pure.

      @@jeffmackdesigns good to know the sanding graduation scale thank you! Down to wood or leave a thin layer of epoxy?

    • @jeffmackdesigns
      @jeffmackdesigns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@connergunnoe5576 we sand right down to the wood.

    The dark blue is fantastic with the great wood you used. However, the music is truly irritating. What's with the tiny video?

      Thanks for watching Dale. Sorry you didn't like the music. We used to film everything for IGTV which is why it was filmed in portrait. Now we are filming primarily for youtube so we are filming in landscape.
