“I don’t know how anyone can afford to live here”! It’s getting harder everyday! Where you were, in Walton County, we now have the 2nd highest average home prices in entire state of Florida. Our liquor stores marked up prices on bourbon/whiskey sure don’t help things. Great video and very happy I found your channel.
It was really cool to see 2 of the shops I personally went to in the video last time I visited Destin Florida. Definitely had some pretty good hunting myself down there
Just left Rosemary Beach and discovered Paul Sutton which is only available in Florida. Couldn’t find it in the local Florida stores. Anyone know anything about it?
If you ever get the chance… Try Saint Augustine distillery. They have a bourbon called the Saint. It’s aged in old fashioned mix barrels. It’s $150 a bottle and it’s the best bourbon I’ve ever had.
If you find yourself in south Mississippi you should swing by Lincoln Road Package Store in Hattiesburg. Jamie Farris is known across the community for his barrel picks. There's also a spot in Laurel called George's Liquor that has a great selection.
Just stumbled across your channel. We stop at the Wine and Spirits every time we stay at Watercolor. Never see Blue Run in MS so it's always good to see it at that store. Keep up the good work!
Both of the shops along 30A you went to are my mainstays when I'm down there each month. I also recommend Destin Ice House as a place to check out...some good surprises in there (and only a few minutes from Rosemary / Cork & Barrel). Your beach scene was familiar...you were about 100 yards down the beach from my family's house lol.
I do not drink at all. Besides a glass of wine every couple of months I don't touch the stuff. Whatever you showed up in my shorts recommended and I love to see the passion and your charm is really selling it to me. In a couple of months when I decide to drink again maybe I'll switch out the wine for whiskey lol. Keep it up!
Alabama taxes are higher than in MS. But their selection seems to be better than MS. I got friends in Mobile who get me to bring them basic beer/liquor to them as it's cheaper. But I go to Alabama for a better selection. Last bottle of Blanton's I bought was $65, but that was 10yrs or so ago. I looked last week at a shop in MS and they wanted almost $200! I laughed & told them I hope they got a rag to wipe the dust off those bottles that won't sell for that price.
I’m from Canada so our bourbon selection is limited in my area. Anytime I’m in a big city and I manage to find Old Grand Dad bottled in bond I buy a case of it.
Great watch Brewzle. Where I live, I’ve had much better luck going into the hood to find good deals. Stagg Jr. for $69, E.H. Taylor small batch for $39, Weller special reserve for $29. This was about a year ago but I loaded up when I could. Unfortunately I think other people found out about my secret ghetto store and nowadays they don’t have much, and if they do it’s triple what it was 😢
I'll try to focus more on that in the future. I paid a bit of a premium on some of these just because I need them for content or I can't find them here.
@@Brewzle and that’s fine once in a while. Excited to see more content from you! Love all of them except the tasting notes ahaha I wouldn’t try a lot of those myself
Great video man. I live in a suburbs outside of Phoenix and trust me I'm not rich. But recently found out that if I moved Mississippi I would feel like a millionaire. Folks are just under paid for the work they do there. Not going to state my income but it's 150-225k which is about average middle class for my area.
That would be loaded in Mississippi. There's a reason I still live in Alabama and it's probably the main reason I can afford an old Lincoln and some bottles of whiskey.
@@Brewzle but it's crazy how things are more expensive in other states. I think you said you were in Florida correct, OGD 100 goes for about 18.99 here in Arizona. Yet in Florida it was more expensive than here.
@@seansullivan7419 Well that's a surprise! Which batch? If I may ask. Regardless, I don't think I've seen a batch # for less than $200 (was a batch 3). Most others are north of $300. I'd say it's a good buy, even if you want to resell it later. For reference, I'm in Colorado but usually go through online retailers.
Back when more and more bottles first started becoming difficult to get, guys in the FB groups would talk about going to stores in poorer areas to get the harder to find stuff, because no one there was buying it. I think nowadays all of those liquor store owners know what's up and they are looking at secondary prices. But the chain stores and fancier higher end stores are more interested in fostering some customer loyalty with the big spenders, so they're not marking stuff up to offensive levels. Just my theory based on my own observations.
THEY WERE CHARGING HOW MUCH FOR BUFFALO TRACE?!! No, wonder they were still on the shelf. If I saw that I would have high tailed it outta there without looking at anything else.
Just curious do you ever put down a bottle by yourself in a night? In my college days that was pretty regular for me. Now I'm pretty sure it would kill me.
This is NOT nice at all compared to where I live in Florida. Come on down to Miami and I'll show you 50 bottles of your Blanton's in every direction. Oh, and you'll get to see J. Lo as well 😉🏝😎

I love the Blackened whisky.
I like this new series of videos. Your channel definitely is one of the best mixes of content!
Thanks Nicholas! We are going to try to continue to push the boundaries of a "normal" whiskey channel.

Great seeing that Scary Peeper face on the shelf at the second store.
Cool video, that Rosemary beach/Seaside area is really nice. Love that area

Really good video. I finally switched to bourbon from scotch. I have a Black Ridge Port finished, and a Elijah Craig barrel proof

If your right there at 30A and want a good seafood spot look up elmos grill. Great Crab and shrimp spot.
Thanks for the tip!
Should I buy Old Grandad bottled in bond? I love the 114 but i cant find it anymore and i see the 100 proof everywhere for under 20 bucks
Larceny b522 is top notch. I'll have to see how the c922 stacks up, but the 522 is definitely the best one yet.
I just did a review of it that should be coming out soon. I thought it was really good.
I could watch these all day lol just got into bourbon recently and it’s harder to find than Waldo lol
Hell yeah we love Seagrove Beach! Please don’t tell anyone else how great that area is tho.
Gulf Shores state park is amazing place to visit for the beach.. no liquor though. That Lincoln is smoking nice car.
Cool peak at Florida. I'll be in Pensacola later this year definitely going to do a little hunting for what I can't find here in SC.
Old Grand Dad bonded is $25 here in Miami.

Interesting, it definitely varies by location
They must be gouging a little bit. OGB is always under $20 in NC near me
ECBP’s are awesome! I’m really loving my Larceny B522 & C922!
I love the Lincoln also...
Thanks!
Ol grandad is all over around me. It's around $27 all day and a great pour anytime
👊 Great video …. I have the same issues in Burbank with those near 200 prices for $60.00 whiskey.

Great content as usual any thoughts on doing a review on rye whiskeys?
Bought two ryes this week
More videos like this please Sir!! It’s awesome

Like the long form stuff
Thank you! We like doing it
Come north to Indiana Kentucky or Illinois way cheaper up here and up this way ol grandad is on 24 something
I figured that was a markup but I’d never even seen it so I had to take it. We’ll do some trips like that soon.
I live in a fairly affluent area. Prices are definitely secondary around here 🤷♂️
OGD 114 a bit better than the bonded..both good but I always reach for the 114 over the other..
New subscriber here love the content
Thanks Wade!
Old Grand Dad Bonded is very easy to buy here in PA meanwhile Blanton's is impossible and Eagle Rare actually is rare to see.
Interesting. I think they just don't distribute it around the southeast much if any. First time I'd seen it, ever.
@brewzle did you try the Dettling Cask Strength?? I love that stuff
is that a 1970 Lincoln ? my grandmother had one baby blue with blue leather, about 60k miles she stayed in her garage. thanks
Awesome! 1972 but very similar to the 70
@brewzle curious if you’re going to do a video on pappy day in Alabama?!
What price on that Blanton?
“Well, it was a successful hunting trip “
I found the second vlog. Nice
