Video review of the Nerf Mega series Magnus. I cover the cosmetics, function, and firing of the blaster.
Editing error: I lost the unboxing footage and was too lazy to re-compress the video to delete that small mistake. It comes with the blaster and 3 darts, that's it. .

Yes, actually my grandad lost his thumb because of it. They were in war I believe he was in the Netherlands at that time, it slipped an he couldnt get it out because he was getting shot at or something. They had to amputate it on the scene

I love your approach to these reviews. I used to favor the cheap, easy Maverick, which of course got knocked off its pedestal by the Strongarm. Sure, the revolvers are paltry compared to the other more complex blasters, but you recognize the value they have to some. Kudos.

Seems like an interesting mod for this would be to try to extend the internal magazine on this with a Centurion Mag. While it might be practical to make such a mod as a removable mag, I think the top load is a very interesting bit of quirkiness. Of course adding a "tacti-cool" rail to the top would be nice too.
This is also a blaster that I think could benefit greatly from some LED enhancement to break up the huge acreage on the sides.

In my experience the centurion can shoot 90 feet. Its bipolar.
Here is am Magnus secret:
If you stick a small, blue, N-Strike dart inside a Mega Dart, it will do the following:
Increase Impact
Increase Range
Decrease Accuracy (You will never Hit a far target)
Decrease Velocity

velocity and speed are two different things.
velocity is the rate at which an object changes it's position.
speed is the rate at which an object covers distance.
I'd like to see a front-loading, 5-round, Mega revolver.

I really like your reviews, you usually go a bit more in depth than most nerf reviewers.
The holes in the mega dart make it whistle while it's flying and i don't know a bout you guys, but i find that hilarious!
And as far as i have seen here in youtube, the Magnus becomes much better when you make a way (hack) to install the Centurion magazine.

Thanks for the reloading tip, I just got mine today and was like 'how the hell do you load this thing without squashing the dart?' I ended up wedging two fingers in the magazine to hold it open.
Hmm... A pistol variant of the M1 Garand if you take out the locking mechanism and change some stuff, cool.
You don't have to worry about getting Mega Magnus Tumb. It would be cool if you could mod in a strip clip the shoots out after the last shot.

I still have my original Magnus. It’s the only Mega blaster that I own currently. The only thing I don’t like about Mega darts is that the foam weakens and breaks so easily.
Mega darts fit perfectly with mega darts, there's still room left when you slide it through it.
In my opinion i think its a pretty reliable blaster thats good for close combat since its quite compact and it fires pretty nicely and it doesnt take as long to reload

I had a memory that i made a special Mega dart few years ago. With my Magnus and Modded Darts, i'm became a unstopable lul
For Modded darts, i use just Paper, Duct Tape and screw. Make a filled cone with paper, put a screw in middle. Remove the dart tip, put your cone shaped paper and tape it. If you tape it so muct, it can't perform very well.
İf you make this right, your mega darts fly like a champ (at least tripled the range that mega darts has) and perfectly accurate!
I bought a Magnus last night and it destroyed all three darts in about 30 shots (I'm glad I bought a backup 10-pack). The V-notch at the bottom of the barrel cut down the side of all the darts. I'm not sure if it is an error in the mold, or just overzealous cycling slide.
I'm going to pull it apart soon to see if there is anything wrong with it.
Great review. I love reviews where they give the good and bad features, and I can decide to buy or not.
I haven't had a Nerf gun since I was 9 years old (The only one I owned was the Ballzooka). I recently picked up this gun for $9.99 at Kroger because I didn't want to pay $50 or more for the Rocket Raccoon Nerf gun to wear with my Rocket Raccoon costume and because that gun wouldn't fit into my backpack for wearing to my local comic con. I pulled the gun out and how no clue how to load it. I inserted the dart from the barrel end and couldn't it to fire. I thought my Nerf gun was broken. Thanks for the video!

An elite blaster with an internal magazine that looks like a heckler and Koch mark 23 would be perfect!
With enough modding, you could make triple dart packs, and load them straight into the gun, without having to remove the paper or load individually.
My magnus is extremely accurate especially when using the iron sights
The discussion of accuracy reminded me of my first mission of my first game of HvZ. I prime my triad, the enemy zombie takes a single step towards us. I point, he steps forth again. He can't be more than ten feet away. I fire. The dart curves completely around him.

itd be cool if they had made it so you prime it once and are able to pull the trigger and fire three times without having to reprime it.
1:45, I cracked up when I heard you say giggity so seriously.
I will admit when it came to the bit about "what is the most accurate nerf blaster" I nearly screamed "SPEEDLOAD 6" at my phone. I wouldn't say the accuracy is incredible, but for something made by nerf, those taggers impress.
I like this gun. It is really good for its price. It has a long range, and high muzzle velocity. Plus I really love internal magazines.
You can integrate a Mega clip into the Magus to make it hold 6 darts.

i've always wanted to see a nerf gun with the retaliator base, longstrike barrel, longshot scope, raider stock, centurion bipod, and a 6 dart clip. it would be the best sniper rifle ever.
You know what if I get into modding I might just do that.

Jacob Varney Thats exactly what I want too, except I'd switch the scope, and add the Rapidstrike 18 Round Magazine.
My magnus has only jammed once, when I tried to fire a shot and it didn't fire. So I tried to reload it, and then it did some weird stuff. But, it is easy to fix, so no real big complains.

I’m glad that cycloneshock came before I was going to buy this, now I am happy with my cycloneshock.
I'm glad this works as a front loader as well.
I got a couple of jams while playing around with my zed squad magnus pistols , and the jam button works just fine. By the way you'll need a tiny stick or a small screwdriver to press the button far enough for it to unlock the slide.
you are supposed to pull the slide half back and then load it because when you pull it half back it willlock into place then you can load it way easier and then you pull it all the way back then forward
Accuracy doesn't suck it depends how good you are also you could put a retaliaor grip on it

As a possible mod suggestion, that thing would make a wicked M203 mock-up integrated with a rapidstrike or similar long gun...
IMO this is the best mega so far
You can load the normal darts by pushing them to the back
Scince the mag is built in U can call it a clip but if the mag is detachable than it is a magazine
i think that you should do a outside range test so the darts can go further

The bullets actually make a whistle noise when you shoot it

I like the idea of bigger darts to reduce the slight stinging of the elites, but I think the mega is too big and both of the guns so far don't appeal to me
It actually does fire elite darts. They just don't go very far. At all.

I deliberately put my finger into the magazine and had it close on me like that, it barely hurt at all. No lasting injury, nothing more than a small red mark.

You could undermount this to a Rapidstrike and have it be like a "grenade" launcher to stun "Tank" or special zombies.

I think this gun is a littel like a Deagel cuz it has a smaller mag then a normal pistol but fires bigger darts/bullets :D
The accuracy on most gun suck but the accustrike darts actually work pretty darn well. Very poor ranges though

Makes badass cosmetics: Don't alter performance
Makes enormous Nerf firearm entitled as: Centurion - "Ages 8+!" - Children are unable to hold it unless a young adult or an adult.
Makes grip for Retaliator - Makes it more inaccurate
Makes bullets run roughly more than 30 feet : Inaccurate

Hey Coop I've done a range teat with my Magnus (my trigger is orange if ur wondering) and it does get 85 ft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They should have put at least an 8 internal mag and make the mag pop out of the gun and make it a cool shape and details and to make the gun a tad bit longer.

If it's loaded you probably will shoot 2 darts that are really inaccurate
Mine keeps on crushing the first dart in the magazine no matter how many i load in when i push the slide forward. It only does this to the first dart though. Seeing as this is my first mega blaster, i do not have any more mega darts. So that sucks
