She was bestowed three titles by the queen on her wedding day and princess wasn't one of them, she is only the Duchess of Cambridge, and will not become a princess until, William becomes the Prince of Wales after his father takes the throne and the title is handed down. And then it will NOT be Princess Catherine or Kate, as you can only become a princess in your own name if you are born one. She will be Her Royal Highness Princess William of Wales.
