Making people miss perfectly times shot is a mess cause now they think they aren't doing something right now they miss their 2nd shot cause they think they had the timing wrong on their first shot next thing you know you're 0/4 just trying to find your timing that you actually had right in the first place but 2k has this random miss BS this year even if you shoot perfect. Imagine playing a golf game and you time your swing perfect and can still do a bad hit... wouldn't make any sense same applies for basketball. Has to be another wya to make shooting more difficult than what they're doing now

But that's okay, because there are settings that exist to cater to those who still haven't learned to use their thumbs. I swear i haven’t seen people complain about shot contests. 99% of the time it says open or lightly contested even though I’m in their face. I have 87 perimeter, only way to get some contest is to jump, but that’s another risk.

Even in the paint, hold down on the stick (which by the way, instead of folding the stick up like it has always been, now you have to hold it down because of yeah you know 2K logic) it doesn't work. The player randomly drops his hands and doesn't contest the shot unless you jump to try to block.
The delay and not being able to quick stop is what kills shooting for guards tbh. Ive noticed if i just catch and shoot my shot is money, but if i try anything off dribble, half the time its a leaner or some other weird ass moving shot. Then the delay just makes it worse. Also, i think they added that cold streak again, cuz i swear if you miss like 2 shots the rest is brick city even in hotspots

1. Nerf Passing lanes 2. Get stable servers to negate jitters/lag 3. Make releases the same across every game mode 4. Make every game mode like Mycourt I think this will fix this 2K, if you touch shooting, then make sure to balance it and don’t reward intentionally dumb shots. Just my opinion 🤷🏽♂️
1. Throw better passes. 2k24 was butchered when they removed passing lanes. There was so many times I would be perfectly in a lane with high steal and get a whiff animation. Shit was RNG if I got a steal or not

Rhythm shooting is just the best, Spent 1hr training with the right thumb stick then I became a shooting god. My center with 79Mid and 74Three shoots post fades and open jump shots consistently in the REC

Honestly the shooting is fine but the “bump steals” need to be studied because I understand when guards dribble into them but some people literally just run into the defender and get a steal and the lane steals are ok but it’s annoying seeing everyone turn into DBs
the pass interceptions is making the game bullshit. Players will be behind you and reach one hand out and steal the pass. Its getting ridiculous if you play 5v5 modes
Why should shooting be hard when it’s the end result of me beating my man? That’s like it being hard to throw a punch after you dodged a combo, or being hard to make a lay up when you beat your man. Like people make it seem like if we figure out the game we should be penalized for being open instead of you being penalized for playing bad defense.

I’m shooting 54% with a 80 three pointer shooting with the rhythm shooting pushing the stick and have shot 55% + from 3 in pretty much every 2k, I really like the rhythm shooting the more and more I do it. Should definitely give it a try if you haven’t and actaully give yourself a chance to learn it. Definitely takes getting used to with the tempo aspect
Skill based matchmaking is absolutely needed. Squads playing in 92 under rec beating up on lower players was pathetic. Imagine being a non casual player pushing for a casual mode just to look good against actual casuals.. makes absolutely no sense.
The thing I liked about 24 was that most people could hit open jumpers at a high rate so the defense was punished for cheating the lanes. Now there really is no incentive to face guard your man as the casual player can’t really hit open 3’s leading to what we have now with the passing lanes being non-existent.

I'm shooting 50% exactly, so this somewhat makes me feel like im not doing as bad as I thought. I just want to make wide open shots very consistently. If I time it perfectly, I'm open, shooting boost, and a high 3pt ball, I should hit it 95% of the time.
From 2k19 to 24, I've averaged over 60% from 3 in the Rec and park. This year? Can't even have back to back games where I shoot above 40%... it 100% needs to be fixed, I can't be the only one who's dealing with missing wide open 3s even though I know my jumper ??
I love people acting like they discovered rhythm shooting is better. Mike Wang said so from the beginning, right in the blog post: Users that learn rhythm shooting will shoot better than those that stick to the button.

Fs disagree paint defense feels great. Maybe even balanced aside from certain standing animations but even those are kinda necessary and they made it more expensive to get so that’s not the worst either.
I remember when a “GREEN LIGHT” meant perfect release. You could still stop it by blocking it now it a complete animation click where it can be hacked and happened constantly with a zen or “script”
Main Bug they need to fix: Contested layups and close shots in the paint! - Literally everything you put up in the paint goes in no matter what - Too many slip by animations in the paint and inability to contest

Ngl, I couldnt hit an open corner 3 to save my life last year on 2k24 after being a 60% shooter with an 80 3ball in 2k23, and now this year I'm shooting nearly 50% while everyone else is struggling, Idk what's wrong with me lmao. The tempo shooting is my favorite addition to a 2k game in a decade
They 100% need to take out skill based match making in casual modes like theatre. That’s what they added ranked for. Makes zero sense as to why I have to be facing sweats in every game mode it just makes it repetitive and boring it was no where near as bad in 2K24. The only way to kind of combat SBMM is to squad up with people.

I understand what you're saying about RNG, Badge, but it's more realistic. Curry could probably shoot 70%-75% in a controlled environment, but there are always tons of factors in a competitive situation that he can't control or account for.

Only thing I would change is the fact that I have legend ankle assassin and can’t freeze or break a big man with no perimeter defense that switches onto me no matter what I do, and the inconsistency with shooting is insane too and the fact that the visual timing in the creator DOESNT SHOW YOU YOUR ACTUAL RELEASE POINT. It just says where it’s at but doesn’t show you exactly so you don’t know until you actually get in a game and try and then every other shot feels slightly different 🤦🏾♂️

This game is legendary, it could even be one of the best 2k games in history... if you can’t shoot or dribble, grind your badges and practice! All players of the new generation of 2k complain too much that the game hasn’t even been out for 10 days! Give yourself time to adapt to the new, not the old
It’s not the shooting itself after testing for a while I noticed that limitless range doesn’t work how it’s suppose too, there’s actually a gap from the 3pt line itself too the outside range. You can only be consistent if you shoot right at the 3pt line regardless of your limitless range tier, something that needs to be looked at
This is basically the magnet ball 🏀 in the NBA. They have some type of technology in the rims where it can push or pull shots. They pick and choose what shots go in. They do that for sports betting.. so 2k might as well start doing sports betting at this point. This is terrible and needs to be fixed.
My friend is new to 2k and he learned rhythm shooting is 2 mins. He greened his next 7 shots. And can green on command now. It’s for sure the best way to shoot
I play on a small guard and have been using rhythm shooting since day 1, it definitely feels way better than button shooting atm and as someone who was shooting about 40% in 24, I’m actually shooting at about 45%. Definitely recommend
There is 100% still RNG in Rthym shooting. You can get perfect initial push timing with bad tempos, but if you get perfect tempo and perfect push timing your push timing or tempo will give slightlys.
I’m almost certain the people who want tough shooting are the people who would in a “realistic” scenario play bad defense. Spamming steals and out of position because why tf would you be against people upset about consistently missing wide open shots ?
i feel like this is an easy fix and a way to make everyone in the community happy. make contest better in general, make shooting easier in casual modes such as the parks (rise and elite), the rec, and the theater and then keep shooting the same in competitive modes such as pro-am, stage, and proving grounds. both the casual and competitive communities get what they want and to incentivize competitive play give higher rep rewards then just a small multiplier

1. Throw better passes. 2k24 was butchered when they removed passing lanes. There was so many times I would be perfectly in a lane with high steal and get a whiff animation. Shit was RNG if I got a steal or not

Rhythm shooting is just the best, Spent 1hr training with the right thumb stick then I became a shooting god. My center with 79Mid and 74Three shoots post fades and open jump shots consistently in the REC

If its 1 to 1.5 seconds delay its definately you. The servers are definately not delaying more than 1 second.

Honestly the shooting is fine but the “bump steals” need to be studied because I understand when guards dribble into them but some people literally just run into the defender and get a steal and the lane steals are ok but it’s annoying seeing everyone turn into DBs

Why should shooting be hard when it’s the end result of me beating my man? That’s like it being hard to throw a punch after you dodged a combo, or being hard to make a lay up when you beat your man. Like people make it seem like if we figure out the game we should be penalized for being open instead of you being penalized for playing bad defense.

I’m shooting 54% with a 80 three pointer shooting with the rhythm shooting pushing the stick and have shot 55% + from 3 in pretty much every 2k, I really like the rhythm shooting the more and more I do it. Should definitely give it a try if you haven’t and actaully give yourself a chance to learn it. Definitely takes getting used to with the tempo aspect

The thing I liked about 24 was that most people could hit open jumpers at a high rate so the defense was punished for cheating the lanes. Now there really is no incentive to face guard your man as the casual player can’t really hit open 3’s leading to what we have now with the passing lanes being non-existent.

I'm shooting 50% exactly, so this somewhat makes me feel like im not doing as bad as I thought. I just want to make wide open shots very consistently. If I time it perfectly, I'm open, shooting boost, and a high 3pt ball, I should hit it 95% of the time.

From 2k19 to 24, I've averaged over 60% from 3 in the Rec and park. This year? Can't even have back to back games where I shoot above 40%... it 100% needs to be fixed, I can't be the only one who's dealing with missing wide open 3s even though I know my jumper ??

Fs disagree paint defense feels great. Maybe even balanced aside from certain standing animations but even those are kinda necessary and they made it more expensive to get so that’s not the worst either.
I remember when a “GREEN LIGHT” meant perfect release. You could still stop it by blocking it now it a complete animation click where it can be hacked and happened constantly with a zen or “script”

Ngl, I couldnt hit an open corner 3 to save my life last year on 2k24 after being a 60% shooter with an 80 3ball in 2k23, and now this year I'm shooting nearly 50% while everyone else is struggling, Idk what's wrong with me lmao. The tempo shooting is my favorite addition to a 2k game in a decade
They 100% need to take out skill based match making in casual modes like theatre. That’s what they added ranked for. Makes zero sense as to why I have to be facing sweats in every game mode it just makes it repetitive and boring it was no where near as bad in 2K24. The only way to kind of combat SBMM is to squad up with people.

Boost the green window for open 3s, nerf the contested shots/ buff challenger and paint patroller, and slightly buff the catch animations.

I understand what you're saying about RNG, Badge, but it's more realistic. Curry could probably shoot 70%-75% in a controlled environment, but there are always tons of factors in a competitive situation that he can't control or account for.

Only thing I would change is the fact that I have legend ankle assassin and can’t freeze or break a big man with no perimeter defense that switches onto me no matter what I do, and the inconsistency with shooting is insane too and the fact that the visual timing in the creator DOESNT SHOW YOU YOUR ACTUAL RELEASE POINT. It just says where it’s at but doesn’t show you exactly so you don’t know until you actually get in a game and try and then every other shot feels slightly different 🤦🏾♂️

The ranked games for 3v3 and 2v2 it’s okay but 1v1 should be based off position and should be a pure green window with a better contest system, high risk reward with even a 84 3pt is basically a zen my timing randomly speeds up or slows down but if 2k decides to count my greens as a green it goes in every time

This game is legendary, it could even be one of the best 2k games in history... if you can’t shoot or dribble, grind your badges and practice! It’s not the shooting itself after testing for a while I noticed that limitless range doesn’t work how it’s suppose too, there’s actually a gap from the 3pt line itself too the outside range. You can only be consistent if you shoot right at the 3pt line regardless of your limitless range tier, something that needs to be looked at
This is basically the magnet ball 🏀 in the NBA. They have some type of technology in the rims where it can push or pull shots. They pick and choose what shots go in. They do that for sports betting.. so 2k might as well start doing sports betting at this point. This is terrible and needs to be fixed.

My friend is new to 2k and he learned rhythm shooting is 2 mins. He greened his next 7 shots. And can green on command now. It’s for sure the best way to shoot
I play on a small guard and have been using rhythm shooting since day 1, it definitely feels way better than button shooting atm and as someone who was shooting about 40% in 24, I’m actually shooting at about 45%. Definitely recommend
There is 100% still RNG in Rthym shooting. You can get perfect initial push timing with bad tempos, but if you get perfect tempo and perfect push timing your push timing or tempo will give slightlys.

I’m almost certain the people who want tough shooting are the people who would in a “realistic” scenario play bad defense. Spamming steals and out of position because why tf would you be against people upset about consistently missing wide open shots ?
i feel like this is an easy fix and a way to make everyone in the community happy. make contest better in general, make shooting easier in casual modes such as the parks (rise and elite), the rec, and the theater and then keep shooting the same in competitive modes such as pro-am, stage, and proving grounds. both the casual and competitive communities get what they want and to incentivize competitive play give higher rep rewards then just a small multiplier
