      Cooling Tower is basically a heat rejection devise or heat exchanger in which water and air are brought into contact with the purpose of lowering the temperature of the water. It’s not surprising that cooling tower technology lends itself to many applications including refineries, power plants, natural gas processing plants, and commercial, Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning(HVAC) systems.

    Sir this video is very much informative, but I have following doubts -
    1) What is the main difference between baffles & passes ?
    2) Usually in pharma or chemical industry people called this heat exchanger as a Condenser, why so ?
    & What is main difference between condenser & heat exchanger ?
    3) We generally define this heat exchangers capacity in terms of m2 ( square metres) like 6 m2, 12 m2
    What is the reason & calculations regarding this ?
    Sir,
    This are the most commonly asked questions in interview & lots of people having doubt on it.
    So I request you to please clear all these doubts, & if possible make seperate video on it........
    Thank You........!!!!

    • @marmikpatel4545
      @marmikpatel4545 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1) Baffles are used in HEX to support tubes and also toincrease cross flow velocity(which increases turbulent flow and so heat transfer increases).
      Passes:- means how many times fluid changes its direction. Ex:- 1,1 S&T means shell side fluid will enter from one side and exit from other without any changing direction and same for tube side. 1,2 S&T HEX means fluid will enter from one side flows through HEX one time and leave wherease there will be a one pass in HEX and so due to this fluid will first flow from part above pass one time and then part below pass 2nd time.

    • @marmikpatel4545
      @marmikpatel4545 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2) Condensor as well as evaporator both are considered as heat exchanger. In Condenser we are condensing the hot gas and so we are taking heat from it and so cold fluid temperature increases.Note:- Due to phase change temperature of hot line curve will be constant.

    • @santoshpatil7912
      @santoshpatil7912 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1) What is the main difference between baffles & passes ? Baffles are the in shell supporting the tubes and same no of drilled holes on it as tube sheet . Tube side Passes are decided on the both the headers / dish ends on both side
      2) Usually in pharma or chemical industry people called this heat exchanger as a Condenser, why so ?
      & What is main difference between condenser & heat exchanger ? Heat exchanger is general term used its common name of the job where as condenser , evaporator , oil cooler are the proper name of the same job depends on its use. Condenser is one who condenses the gas to liquid form of fluid (normally refrigerant in chiller )
      3) We generally define this heat exchangers capacity in terms of m2 ( square metres) like 6 m2, 12 m2
      What is the reason & calculations regarding this ? its the surface arae of the total tubes inside heat exchanger , outer perimeter x length is surface are of one tube x no of tubes gives are of heat exchanger

For 1-1 Pass HE Tube side inlet at right side so outlet of tube side left side not remove from single side. It is removed for single side if you used 1-2 Pass Heat exchanger
