Great Video man! Just got done swapping out a seized motor and the starter is stuck out riding on the flywheel lol. This made things a lot faster for me not having to guess what tools I could use to get back there. Highly Appreciated!

Nice video. Very helpful with regards to the tools, orientation of the bolts, etc. This is the 4th BMW in my family and I have not worked on one this new so the amount of crap they put in for all the electronics is kind of intimidating.

That's the crankshaft position sensor. I've replaced that in addition to the starter on an e90 3 series. From this video, I can see they're similar in both cars.

just an fyi, i watched this video to the end, but not for the starter. i am having a p0440 code and the last evap hose i am replacing is connecting to bottom of manifold is what i was trying to see. I see it here, so thank you. Also, plug your intakes next time... gives me anxiety just looking at them all naked.

Great video, I have a 2011 and I had the red tool in my trunk, which turned out to be useless. Thank you for showing the white wire, I can now test the starter, other wise I can't even see it.

I don't know why they couldn't leave a good idea alone. It was so much safer to get the car in neutral with the red tool. Thanks for watching

Ditto, what a joke!!! The tool is still in the car yet serves no purpose except a sense of false hope!!! Couldn't get my X5 towed, left stranded on the side of the road.

@@surfordie73 i found out you can get the car in neutral from under the car but there are a few tools required. Mainly to take the cover down and an to screw in an adjuster bolt on the trans.

Where is the starter relay located? I have a no crank start and I already replaced the fuel pump relay?

With out knowing all the info on the car but I think the only relay is the starter solenoid on the starter

I look this up its a 3.0L or a 4.4L. No 3.5L listed for this car even though its a 35i, that's not the engine size. This one is a 3.0L.

If you know what you are doing, then you hardly need to watch any of these videos. These videos are made for those "clowns" that have not previuously
attempted to fix the depicted repair work. TH-cam Videos are the online "Classsroom" for first timers.

Bob I think you are wrong. Ever though I know what I am doing I still like to see how other people work on cars. Because maybe I am doing something wrong or the way they do it makes the job easier. I am still learning all the time.
