"And once in a while I'd look up at the stars wondering if I'll have to take another dump before going to bed" I haven't stopped laughing!!! You sound so calm saying that... Lol!!!!! Awesome video Ed!
Thanks for the spotting info for the Beehive washout. I'm new to these trails and this was my wife's first time Spotting, so having a visual idea on what to look for and navigate at the washout made the process much easier. For anyone else reading this, not much has changed at this location in the 10 months since Krokem Outdoors went through this (we were there 7/2/23).
Thanks for the reminder!! We had an awesome trip with our trailer after the Overland Rally in Plain WA! Great trip, awesome adventure! Thanks Nate @thedirtlifestyle for your work on the trail!!!
Beehive Washout is one of my favorite parts of Section 3. Nice to see the huge deep rut on the east rise after the washout the has been filled. Made things more “interesting” because you had to stay straddled to the slope side to keep from dragging even with high clearance. Section 4 is more or less our backyard here in Beaver Valley. Most trails we play on feed into it in the vicinity of French Corral. Thank you for sharing, look forward to seeing more.
Oh, Nate, my man! That smoker is awesome! Thanks for posting this video. I'm doing the WBDR September 4-10, and it's so nice to see some current conditions. AND how cool is it that some of my favorite TH-camrs are doing this trail together!
Awesome video Ed, Thanks for taking us along !! That chip challenge was pretty Funny and so was your bedtime issue (lol). Your friends were pretty cool, Looking forward to seeing more adventures 😍🚙👍
I enjoyed this video. Few reasons. I also have a Ram Rebel and it was dope to see it in action. Secondly, the brotherhood yall have is awesome. Great video and content.
I am in th PNW this week after watching this video my son in law threw camping gear in the F350(stock) and did Bethel Ridge/Bear lake. Had a blast! He is hooked now!!! Overlanding in Texas will never be the same😝So glad to have the chance to enjoy the outdoors you guys call home!😊
Best footage of the washout I have seen so far, I did them last year in my full size Chevy Silverado and then this year on my motorcycle. I think this section is my favorite of them all I also like the campsites more on this section, again I want to give you a big thumbs up on the editing it’s top level stuff
@@KrokemOutdoors it did just fine, I have a regular cab and the 8 foot bed so the wheel base is similar to your ram overall, but I felt the trail was a bit wider last year I think it might change a little year to year, not sure if you remember but I was with you and Nate last year on the snow camping trip he setup
@@KrokemOutdoors for sure! Looks like an awesome trip. I live pretty close to the first section of the WA BDR. Need to go hit it up! How were most of the roads? I have a stock TRD off road with upgraded tires. Anything too gnarly for that?
Love your videos. Great eye work camera angles and such. But that grandiose orchestrated music is way over the top for most of the places it’s at. IMHO! Keep up the good work! Hope to see you on the trails. I’m north at Mt. Baker area. ❤️🏔🌲
Man, in your full size rig, you make WABDR look hard, when there’s really nothing technical on the entire route. I wheel a Land Cruiser, but have a Ram 1500 on order for towing. Looking forward to it.
Always enjoy the video editing in your videos! More than years ago than I wish to count in West Virginia almost the same terrain except mud and grass instead of dusty dirt- at two points there are secure points to tie off your winch to get you over the top of the climb without flipping over backwards- some remains at the bottom of one.
I’m glad we didn’t have to resort to winching here, but if the opportunity presents itself, we’re on it! Sounds like you were on some fun trails (if staying safe) 👍
After completing the part at time stamp 13:10 I can say the cameras did this no justice. The off camber lean to the cliff edge and the drop are much more than this presents on film. Thanks for the advice prior to the trip @Edward Shin!
I did that washed-out section in my Tacoma before I put a lift on it, lol. I dented up my running boards. It is always scary when you're going through a technical section and can see nothing but hood and sky.
Badass! That washout was gnarly! I have the same wheels as you, with 35" KO2's. It looked like you aired down to 22 PSI. Did you have any concerns about popping off the bead?
Projector is a Phillips PicoPix Max. Lots of Pros, couple Cons. Biggest complaint is it requires a minimum of 45 watts to charge the internal battery. Most low-mid tier battery banks or solar generators cant output that, meaning to charge it you may be required to use an inverter and use the supplied 120v power converter. Its very expensive ~$800, and it has mixed reviews, seemingly due to clunky built in smart apps. I use a 1TB micro sd card loaded with movies and have never used it with wifi, never had a single issue. I absolutely love & recommend this projector to anyone not scared away by the price. I can provide much more info on the pros/cons if you're interested.

So we had to turn around and go back home to Cashmere
Thank you for continuing to video Overlanding and not vlogging infomercials or commercials Brother.

now i have to try a smoked ribeye, great video.
You really should try it, it’s so good! Nate smokes his at lower temps for a longer period of time. Turned out well
Quick mention that 1/2 tons still come in full size trucks and suvs and 1 tons can still come in mid size pick ups.
We can’t find any maps to tell us what route we’re supposed to go on.
Is that Star Gate music ?
Licensed music, but it sounds similar 😆

I apologize if it’s been answered before in other videos but what bumper do you have on the rebel? Looks awesome and isn’t tacky
The front and rear bumpers are from Expedition One :)
@@KrokemOutdoors awesome! Thanks so much for the reply!
What sort of mpg are you achieving after you installed the front and rear bumper? Thinking of going a very similar path on my 2020 ram rebel
I can’t say because I have a lot of other weight/mods added. But with the current setup , I’m at about 11 mpg avg
smoker is awesome but you need to sear them after!!!
It was still so good! Gotta try that next time though
What kind of smoker was he using?
It was the asmoke portable electric grill/smoker
Screw TP and shovels, I just wear DEPENDS .🤔💩

what is the smoker called Edward?
It’s the portable smoker from Asmoke
