I remember this episode and being happy that Afife finally gave Hürrem the comfort of a mother/grandmother that she needed so badly since entering the palace at tha age of probably a teenager and the horrific trauma of watching her parents and lover being killed. The episode where she confronted Afife for her unfair treatment of her having no one when she arrived vs Fruze who had nothing but support. The whole this was sad (luckily in real life he was actually good to her rather than how he acted in this show). Any way, Afife finally stepped up for her and it was nice to see.
Episode 72 was such a good episode for their relationship. Hürrem's monologue was so good and I cried when Afife hugged her. It put into perspective how over all those years she'd been so isolated.
@@hurremsultanas Yes! Exactly.... She kept herself from insanity with her intelligence. She had to fight for herself every minute of every day. You're right, she was so isolated. I know her real life was very different from the show but it still represents the psychological misery she went through. There was another episode where she wanted to get rid of the slave market she was abused in and also gave a monologue about the same. This show was very fantastic. I like that Turkish Historical shows have a great deal of non-verbal acting in them and they are very good at it.
Mahidevran: that was our Thursday, how can you do this to us?! Hurrem: ok, nevermind, can i do something usefull, Syleiman? No wonder he prefered Hurrem.
@tanjaceren984 i ment she showed the sultan that she had accepted the situation, that she hadn't neglected her children, the harem and doing good. Did you see Syleiman's face, when she told him she would spend her own money? And watch the show again and remember Mahidevran. Always yelling, crying before valide-sultana, the sultan himself and her little prince. And yes, the sultan never knew of her attempt to use poison, Affife only told Furise about it, praising Hurrem's love.
@tanjaceren984 ok, you are Mahi's fan, i've got it. Watch again, properly this time, Mahi is being hysterical all the time, all that Mustafa saw was his mother crying and yelling. Even valide sultana, Ibraghim and Hatice told her to stop and pay attention to her son. Yes, Hurrem acts like a child, she is wise enought: there were many moments she tried to manipulate Syleiman directly and she realized, that acting like a child or acting like a loving woman or accepting his desisions(no, actually) is much more affective. And Mahidevran complained straightly: "why did you spend our night with HER?!", "why did you give her MY ring?!", "make me free like HER!!". That was a problem: she couldn't hide her feelings, esp negative ones. That was my idea, hope you got it and stop prooving me Hurrem is bad. Cause she actually was, and for that time and for eastern countries that was normal. Watch Chineese doramas about harem life in the Forbidden City.
@tanjaceren984 I think the difference is that Hürrem had been the subject of far more trauma and emotional abuse at this point so her mental health was in this place due to just how depressed and isolated she was here. That's why she did it and why Mahidevran didn't. It's not that she's weaker or more hysterical. There's human psychology.
Hurrem pantas di cintai sultan sampai mati.. dia pintar dan matang dalam mengelola emosional menandakan dia punya leadership.. keputusan dan strategy nya dia pikir matang" dan dia setia...
Ah, the comment section for this show. If it's not celebrating one woman's domestic abuse, it's laughing over another's suicide attempt. Stay toxic, fam.
@tanjaceren984 Touch grass. Not only is what you just said a blatantly disingenuous case of whataboutism. But you're conflating a fictional character's actions with fan behaviour. This is unhinged.
@tanjaceren984 So that makes making fun of a suicide attempt OK? You're still doing this absolutely unhinged whataboutism in an incredibly disgusting context.
@tanjaceren984 She died because she was murdered by the secret organisation. Their actions are on them and them alone. Not Hürrem and to suggest otherwise is unhinged. And other people in the comments section have made fun of her suicide attempt. You were the only person brazen enough to defend it.
I cant believe this whole series is about glorifying that dysfunctional lunaric beech Hurrem and basically ignoring how truly awful Sulieman is. And she still sees him as the whole universe. Those two piggies deserved each other 😂
@@hurremsultanas I'm guessing they're trying to claim that Hatice still "won" over Hürrem since she went through the promised suffering, but it's all instantly negated by the fact that Firuze didn't actually manage to "steal" anything from Hürrem in the moment. So, no, Hatice didn't "win" 🤷
