I remember listening to this, being at one of my lowest lows, and thinking pain doesn’t get harder than this. Sat in my shed in my mums garden, tears flowing, I fought between how the beautiful life is and how hard it can be. Never will forget how I felt vs how I feel now. All I know is this song made me stronger for all its brilliance and it’s stoic nature. Thank you Ben!
Typical Ben Watt....understated brilliance. Pure quality. One of those songs you hear once & somehow it gets under your skin & you play it again & again in your head.
This is one of those songs when you hear it playing on the radio in the car and you missed the name you will go all out to find it. Like I did. Would everybody agree a fusion of soft american and rock and english pop at its best.
I don't know why we have to liken everyone to someone else - all I hear is great music, from the heart - Bernard throws just enough dirt over Ben's sweetness to make a perfect marriage of sound - for me, this is as good as it ever gets
+Evie Adams Hi Evie I just saw your comment. Totally agree, this was the number one song on my radio show Audio Chocolate in 2014, and i still listen to it heaps. Looking forward to hearing the new album .. been following Ben's music since North Marine Drive.
Ill never forget the day I met Ben in Montreal. He was the kindest most down to earth human ever. He had just recovered from his stomach problem and he played the sweetest set that night. Ill never forget Ben :)
Mr. Watt just wanted to let you know, that songs like this, deeply relate to people's lives like mine, that is a relief in this indecipherable world, Thank you.
This song is beautiful. Really like it. Makes me think of the Wallflowers meets Ben Folds meets Dire Straits. Great mature songwriting. Kudos to the bass player too. x
Ive got early Chris Rea in the instrumental too. Ironic considering your name!! Hadn`t thought of Ben Folds but there is some of him too. Cant remember the specific Im thinking of, it was on Silverman album.
His new album Fever Dream is just as good, out April 8th 2016, you can stream it from pitchfork on Bens official site if like me, you can't wait for it come out.
Totally agree Ewan - both albums are superb and are played regularly in my car as I travel around - Gradually is a belter of a song and Faces Of My Friends is completely addictive x
Brilliance. Effortless cool, emotion.

Hell yeah. I like the slower live version better. Nothing like heartbreak in this world. It’s the most open and raw we will ever be.

Jayne. I did exactly that. Ended up hearing it again and finally catching his name. Great tune 👍👍.
Took a long time to find it but I finally did
He saved a creature from the heat of the fire .... what’s not to like ... brilliant song writing, lyrics, playing and production ... love it!!
I like that line too Martin 👍👍.
I heard this for the first time as I was waiting at the bus station last night in Middlesbrough
Really enjoyed it so had to listen to it again

Tremenda la cancion. Un temazo. Enhorabuena, Ben!

To me makes me think to artists like Ryan Adams, David Gray or Jack Johnson, finest composition..The solo guitar very similar to Mark Knofler
The cover tap of the album "Communique" of Dire Straits is very similar
Some Al Stewart as well - Year of the Cat. Really nice tune.
Stewart Boutcher Agree. Shows top class English folk-pop is still alive.
Beautiful.
Great tune .
Amazing...On repeat all of the time:)
still the same
+scott robertson still listening
simply brilliant !
Exelente👏👏
Excellent. Me like.
I will never forget...
This place is against me when IM really trying to save it...
this song is amazing! makes me think of Crowded house and the way that Neil Flinn writes his songs.
ashthelefty Quite a compliment! Neil Finn is a truly great songwriter
My favorite from this CD...and perhaps of Ben's recent work, although I love this album and Storm Damage.
Gracias por tu arte.....un sonido de locura!!!
