Went there today .. the soup dumpling and the short rib noodles was awesome. Spoke to the manager a bit and told her about this video. Thanks for the recommendation.
You forgot to mention you like the soup dumpling....🤤 How did I miss this video last month? These Bau are similar to or same as the Manapua in Hawaii's favorite treats. We love them and will never skip them if we get a chance to have some. Sure, we know how to make them but, nothing like a "professionally" made stuff. Added to our list of places to eat when we get there next month. We won't have enough days to go to them all but, we can eat more than 3 meals a day too.🤙
I like Shanghai Taste, and I was there recently too. An employee of Shanghai Taste told me it that she and her friends were split on which place had the best XLB.
One container was soy sauce, and one container was vinegar (Chinese vinegar - dark in color). People normally mix the 2 together. The 3rd container was the chili oil.
In regards to the tabletop condiments, what you dipped your soup dumplings in was NOT vinegar soy sauce, but was black vinegar (typically made from glutinous rice and malt/sorghum/wheat). Vinegar soy sauce would be a concoction of vinegar mixed with soy sauce (typically accompanying potsticker dumplings). By the way, did your server provide finely julienned ginger with your soup dumplings? Black vinegar and ginger are traditional condiments for soup dumplings. 😋

Been watching this place when we go to the bakery next door. I'm gonna stick to the dumplings when I go. Was just at Shanghai a week ago!

Are you sure it was vinegar soy sauce or just vinegar that's dark?

WAIT THATS WHERE I WENT!
👍
The dumplings looks awesome! I gotta try this plsce out.
Cute
I agree the main issue with this place is that the portion sizes are just really small - definitely wouldn't fill me up!
How is it compare to DTF?
Equally good as far as XLB goes... some fun version of XLBs here. Maybe a little edge to this place for the "House Soup Dumplings"
Went here tonight and the XLBs are legit. Frankly, best ones I’ve ever had. Better than Din Tai Fung IMO.
Yeah, a lot of people share your opinion.. Also people say that DTF here is not as good as SoCal.

Yes, I mixed the black vinegar with the soy sauce. And yes, got the ginger... grated, not julienned, thanks.
Most items look small for expensive price...
It's not bad. Prices are up everywhere
first time was Great enjoyed every dishes
second time my slices beef noodles soup came with plastic food wrap inside the soup.
😵
expensive !! its BETTER GO TO DIN TAI FANG
Yeah, but the one here is nowhere near as good as the one in Cali
i would assume din tai fung is more expensive then this new location plus the ones in california are better.
Fry dumplings looks dry inside,no more soup .
The fried pork Buns are not soup dumplings. They're not supposed to have soup inside.
xiao long bao is the soup dumplings
