    This song brings back memories! I was a young pup in kindergarten in Denver, CO and my Pop would always play these jams at home and with his friends when they would visit us and I was always around and exposed to these jams at an early age so of course fast forward almost 40 years later I still remember these songs and hold them dear to my heart with nostalgic greatness. A+++

    What a time, what a place. It was both sad and a pleasure to see once again the instruments, some studio gear and furnishings etc from the Caribou Ranch at the auction last weekend. Yet I felt like i was attending a family funeral since much of that will never be used again, to become souvenirs on a wall or room etc. The property had since been sold to descendants of the Walton family ( as in Sam Walton) who have said they are not planning on developing homesites but rather preserve the land as stewards of it. We'll see how that goes, I was up at Caribou the other day, looking over the ranch from a nearby hillside. It was quiet and peaceful under a clear blue sky. The big deck where Chicago played in their TV specials is still there, empty but of only a couple chairs and picnic table. The studio barn , all the cabins and the lodge stand as silent reminders of a golden era in time. If you listen carefully within the gently blowing breeze, you can still hear the faint melodies of what was created there. Long Live Caribou Ranch.....

    One of my all time favorite and inspirational bands. This song stood the test of time. I remember watching this TV special. Back then it seems they had one every year. I sure miss Terry Kath.

    They were all so young and pretty. God I wish it were possible to travel back to the 70's. I was too young to enjoy. Great decade!

    Yep, amazing place. Always has been. I used to hike on Joe Walsh's land, once by accident, snowshoe around Caribou etc. I was in the PI w/ my gf and her best friend, and Dan Fogelberg was playing darts. He needed a partner, so I stepped up. I had already told the girls, who lived in Boulder, to please not bother him. Told them, "This is his back yard. Do you think he comes in here to get pestered for autographs and stuff?" They were so mad at me after I got done playing darts, but he asked me!

    I was blessed by God to live in Nederland in the 70's- early 80's & I can tell you this, Caribou Ranch was a family, The people who lived around this area were blessed by many "impromptu" shows by many in a little mountain bar the "PI" the Pioneer Inn. As anyone will tell you the real talent shows up-close & in person, & we saw some great shows. Many who reach level of FAME Chicago, Joe Walsh Dan Fogelberg (who also lived near by), fail to remain as nice & real as they did!

    Judy, I looked up a Newspaper article from a Denver paper, I think if you google Caribou Ranch and the name Al Green it will come up. It was an interview with James Guercio and it mentioned Al Green being up there. My wife and I got into a discussion about it. Then it became an obsession. I dug up as many pic s on the net as I could find and found some where he is wearing the same bracelet...LOL. So...I guess I won the argument in my mind..ha ha ha!

    Oh and it would be helpful if you knew who the hottie was in the video @ :17? Seeing you're the first person to respond to any of my comments, I'd thought I'd take a chance and ask. Man, this band was such a super power, just oozing with talent at every turn. I would have loved to be a part of one of their inpromptu shows. Youth today has no idea what they are missing. Everything comes in a package now. It's really sad.

    @Chrisdrumz That's not true!! Chicago and Terry Kath still have a huge fan base!! I'm sure it has a lot to do with the fact that Rolling Stone never gave Chicago it's due credit. And Pete Cetera made a comment about R S. I love and agree with that particular comment. I would prefer to it enshrined on a plaque in a Chicago Hall Of Fame!!

  • @judywood2229
    @judywood2229 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had heard years back that you had to nominate a band to "the Rock N' Roll hall of fame" And that it also cost 25K to do so. I'm not sure how accurate this is or who has to do the nominating but they said it wasa combination of their fans requesting it and some of the music moguels getting involed. I'm gonna investigate and see what I can find out. because they should have been there a long time ago.

    You are wrong! They should be judged by the entirety of they're recordings & shows. There have been many inducted that fell far from the top when inducted. That is ignorance to say such a thing & obviously biased. My opinion is not in favor of Chicago nor against them,I do agree with fact they deserve to be inducted on the merit of their contribution to Ro.ck & Roll

  • @MrPrice2U
    @MrPrice2U 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I guess their 80s music killed that option...

  • @Chrisdrumz
    @Chrisdrumz 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @101southsideboy Had they stopped performing and recording after Terry died they would have been inducted. By continuing as they did and producing less than stellar music they did serious damage to their rep.
