Good morning Neil and Ant we love Woolaton Hall it's a real treasure in Nottingham. We love that the entrance is free. The drone footage was amazing giving some great views of the hall. The narration was very interesting and informative. You had a bit off a kit kat moment there next to george 😆 Thr walls and ceilings in the staircase are lovely. The grounds looks amazing was a lovely day for a walk around the lake so nice to be able to enjoy the sunshine. Hope you enjoy the weekend. Best wishes Dave and Dawn ❤️

@inbetween-days Hi Dave and Dawn! Thanks for watching... we love Wollaton another one only 25 minutes away... the actual building is stunning 😍 We love all the stonework details... there's some very weird but oddly fascinating heads to be seen! The unusual primate came home with me lol 😅 Been experimenting with the drone for over 2 years but still not mastered it, i think it won't become a staple for us 😆 It was gorgeous in the park, the deer were everywhere, the swans were out and it was good to get outside after both being stuck inside at work 😀 Hope you have a great weekend. Best wishes from us both 😀

Thank-you for sharing this magnificent structure. Grounds very lovely also. Yes, taxidermy disguised as " natural history" always a conundrum as one is filled with awe viewing the details of these magnificent creatures, but simultaneously one is overwhelmed by rage and grief at the unnecessary carnage. Bittersweet like the season.Of course when one has opportunity to view previously unknown specimens it does add some levity. Suspect creature belongs to some strange mouse cult. Enjoy the autumn sunshine.

A history Museum. Well it certainly better than the wrecking ball. Are having his roof removed. This house must’ve been truly something to behold him. Thank you so very much for showing us a glimpse of a beautiful past. I live about 70 miles from Biltmore house in Asheville North Carolina. It survived the storm and floods without a scratch. I have not been there in some years. When things are back up and running I plan on a visit. Thank you for the work you’ve done. Waiting on your next video.

It always amazes me how these massive homes could be constructed with perfect right angles and reach such vertical heights in exact alignment, all without the benefit of modern power tools. I suppose they had some rudimentary levels and plumb lines. I wonder if there's any documentation of construction methods that were utilized at this time. Anyway, another relaxing stroll with your soothing voice and lovely musical accompaniment. I loved seeing how the swans enter the water, with the mama having her growing brood go ahead of her.

@Odo55 Thankyou for watching and commenting and for making such a good point! I think they must have created a lot of perfect templates in wood at ground floor level which they worked at height along with simple plumb lines? The exterior of Wollaton is certainly a triumph from every angle! We were so lucky to catch the swans and Mr Stag! Best wishes you from us both 😀

Since the main point of the house today is to provide for us an experience, to take in it's beauty and to better understand the architecture of the period (Elizabethan with Jacobean elements), and to honor the creators of the house, I hope that some day the noxious institutional feel that fights with the beauty of the house can be extracted and a separate building can be erected for the museum things. Makes me want to' put up my mitts' at their insensitivity. What could be worse than the smell of old school days.

    • @chrisisjustme7546

@ArthurGroveman Hi Arthur we actually said the same when we were there, there is room to build a purpose built modern exhibition space for the museum pieces. The house would be better returned to an historic house with the rooms laid out and furnished as they would have been... Best wishes from us both
