    The video has been uploaded in HD but you might have to enable it. When viewing the video full screen, press then gear icon and select 1080p HD - you should be able to see the equations fine.
    The equations are too long to post here, I've sent them to you in a message.
    Glad you found it useful!

    I have a question :
    i need to draw a catenary using equation driven curve.
    the formula is :
    y=a cosh (x/a)
    it can be written like the following:
    y=a(exp(x/a)+exp(-(x/a)))/2
    i tried to use t in place of x in solidworks but i didn't succeeded.
    can you plz give it a try
    thank you

    Hi, I have a specific pattern (say helix) now i Want my part to be made up of lots of these pattern (helix). Say a Solid Bottle with Helix Pattern. These Paterns are really small suppose size of wool in your sweater. Can you help me?

    Does it always have to be in relation to the origin? I mean, I can make it move along the x direction, sure, but what about the y direction? Can I have it in relation to another point?

    What good is this for if I cant Sweep a simple sinusoidal curve given by: 13*cos(pi*x-.5*pi).
    I'm left wondering if I can do anything else with it.
    After making the curve with that equation, from 0 to 12.5, I try to do Swept Boss/Base with a circular profile with 1mm and it takes a long time to process just to fail miserably... (Solidworks 2016)
    It even crashed Solidworks once.. If equation drive curves are like this we can't use them :(

    Now i am getting another error that is preventing me from executing revolved-boss. "This program could not be closed without creating self intersecting entities." Man Solidworks just will not let me render these sine waves.

    Ok finally made revolveboss decreasing waveform work. Had to offset axis line from origin and make the amplitude 2. At 3 or higher it just would not render.

    Can you please help me to type the following formula:
    y=(x^2)/(2*(1+sin(x)) im trying to draw a perfect parabolic shape
    the second x is the angle (it could be 25 or 30)

    I'm getting a sketch is overdefined error for the decreasing wave form. I couldn't revolve it. And I use the same exact equation.

      I found the solution to this problem. For other newbies like me who encounter this problem, read through Solidworks documentation on Relations and specifically automatic relations.
