I found your blog channel before I found your Simply Dumpling Channel, and I'm so glad that it happened in that order! It made me feel like watching a friend on his food adventures when I found the dumpling channel!
EVA Airlines is the BEST!! I took them back to the States--along with my four TBC (Taiwanese-Born Cats). I flew Economy, but they gave my kits first-class treatment! They even passed word along all the airports on my route to look after the cats, and when I changed flights they came on the plane to assure me that my furkids were safely aboard and doing fine. Great people! :)

Mike! There's Uber in Taipei! Much cheaper than cab and you can use your US Uber account and credit card. Not sure about foreign transaction charge though; depends on ur credit card.

Should cost about NT$1,300 to take a cab into central Taipei. Or you could take an airport bus for a tenth of that price. (Hopefully the new Metro line will open soon.)

A cab from the airport- woa, that's a really long way from Taiyuan to Taipei! I would have jus stayed in a cheap & nasty business hotel (ha!) in Taiyuan right across the road from the railway station and trained it in next day!
Traveling in Taiwan, starting at 9:20, the rain head shower and electronic toilet, once you get used to them, you can't go back, esp the electronic toilet !
I dread flying EVA to Taiwan for the main reason that it departs at 1 am and they serve food one hour into the flight when you're least hungry. But I feel better about it now because I would rather arrive early morning than arrive late at night.
Man I love Taiwanese food! There used to be a Taiwanese restaurant on Broadway in NY where we ate great spicy food! It's a shame the restaurant's closed!

Mike, you lucky to get a yellow cab. In the 80 cab drivers did not dressed nice and cab not so great. Rode in a beat up cab . Next time take some drinks canned from lounge for hotel ref. Bottle water is good also hey why not free!

It is bus terminal A outside of the main Taipei Train station. It cost only 375 NTD for the bus to Taoyuan. There is a few good places there the Taiwanese Sausage BBQ place, and the Taiwanese Goose place is just a block walk away. I'll send you a map to facebook.
My mom always rode the bus but I too have no idea where the bus stops. All I remember is getting dropped off the side of the road and switch to a taxi.
I thought that´s what he was doing for his previous channel "off the great wall" ? Not sure if he got a side job from TH-cam. It´s really a lot of work (I know :p) and considering he works on several high quality channels ... great job!

+Mikey Chen When you have the money, you should come to Singapore. It is steaming hot every afternoon but the food here is spicy!! You will love it!! The airport is the best part I like. The hotels are nice too and 7-11 has mashed POTATOES and they are pretty good to me. Trust me, you will love it!!

I love EVA for international flights. Their food is good, great service, roomy enough seats, and nice sized personal tvs...all in economy class too!

Welcome to Taiwan. I recommend taking uber as an better way to go/from the airport.
