The saddest part of Hotline Miami 2's plot is knowing that all the pieces were there for the characters to peace everything together. Had one of them been able to see beyond themselves and find a way to work together, the plot may never have happened. That whole idea of not putting the pieces together until its too late permeates beyond this game and into reality. You can have all the intelligence, all the foreknowledge and yet the worst can still transpire. Feels bad man.

This really proves to me that games are a proper medium of story telling. Not the cinematic kind but as it’s own thing. More games should strive to be like hotline Miami. In storytelling. In music. In gameplay. What a fucking ride.
