My '65 Barracuda weighs 2980 with a 340 on the original 4-speed. I'm surprised the AMX is so much heavier than my car, being smaller and having no back seat. Anyway, I love that AMX.

Automatic trans? It's not a 10 spd dual clutch It's a 1968 muscle car, you want a standard in it. It was lower quality and maybe bad gearing or not running perfect
@@matthewburkholder1076 running a 14 almost, with a lighter car and only 15 hp & torque less... that 4 speed & gearing definitely put a drag on that cars potential performance. That should have been a very close race.

Damn that 4 speed must have really hurt the performance. For being lighter and only dragging 10 to 20 hp & torque... it got spanked.

@@troyburns6971 The 428 CJ specs were ridiculously conservative.
Yeah the 428 were actually around 400hp, it wasn't a Nascar engine but it had good flowing heads and a healthy cam.
