I was hit by a EF5 Tornado on April 27th 2011. Believe me NOTHING stands after a EF5. Our neighbors has a well built Wooden Framed Brick House that didnt even get a direct hit. It was about 100 Yds from the debris field. Yes it was sucked down a hill and reduced to rubble. Tornadoes are weird beasts of nature, and powerful ones to. We may never understand this type of weather.

Let’s say a tornado with winds over +200 MPH (should be EF5) doesn’t destroy any structures. But, the outer bands knock over the lawn chair you left outside at the fishing hole. Because only EF0 damage was reported, the tornado would be an EF0, even though it’s winds were EF5 levels.
The reason for this is because if a tornado doesn’t hit anything then they can’t really get an accurate measurement of how strong it was. Sure there are many tornadoes that were given much lower ratings than what they actually were. But we can’t just speculate when it comes to science.

Something also to remember is that recently we've changed our understanding that almost all tornadoes have multiple suction vortices and this explains why strong damage occurs to certain structures while others are spared. Or, small tornadoes converge into one single behemoth and leap all the way from EF2 to beyond EF5 levels, like the Jarrell, TX tornado.

@THECAMERAMAN99520 well really it can vary. It could be a EF0 upon touchdown and then it travels 2 miles and it becomes a EF1. Or it could be a EF1 upon touchdown and die out after 2 miles. At least all this could happen in Colorado. XD

I remember, June 20th, 2010, my city was hit by the biggest tornado in Billings, MT history. It ripped the roof off a concert hall and destroyed nearly everything in its path.
Interesting how this video was a part of everyone's childhood. I saw this in August 2013. I scoured the Internet, trying to find the "game" that was shown in the video. After hours of trying different keywords in Google and TH-cam, I finally searched "tornado town game." The first result was an old Roblox game called Tornado Town. That got me into computer gaming and pretty much gaming in general. I see a lot of people have a similar story.
Me rating tornado levels! EF0: 1/10 I wouldn't give 0/10 because I would still be worried, but despite that it's not that bad. EF1: 3/10 Overall based on the minor damage, it doesn't scare me too much but a little more that an ef0. EF2: 5.2/10 This is where I really start to get scared. EF3: 6.5/10 I'd be really terrified of this type. ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT! EF4: 9/10 Ok Now I Start To Feel Like I'm Going to die. EF5: 9999/10 The strongest level. I Start To think I'm not going to survive, EVEN IN A BASEMENT. I Get VERY SCARED AND KNOW ITS GONNA COST TRILLIONS! And that Me Rating tornado levels
EF6 my dads farts, Complete decimation, no traces left except bottom foundation concrete of where the frame of the house used to be. Trees completely ripped out of the ground. A putrid smelly odor left behind.

thats because the winds pick up the car from the space below the car, it lifts the wheels and the wind above pushes it
