    This truck is killer. The paint came right around! Slick. Thanks for the info on the shackle. Mine is low on the driver's side as well.

    on my '86 i use a 1" rubber spacer on left front coil spring to level up! havin de tank, driver, steering column and booster/master brake on the same side ..thats help get in time the chevy lean.

      Sounds about right.
      My 2 trucks all had dual tanks. I would always use the right tanks & keep them full. I felt it helped keep more weight on that side & balance it out. I would keep about 5 gallons of 93 pure super unleaded in the left tank, for my "race weekends". LoL
      I just used 3 of those flat body spacers on one of my trucks to correct the lean.. I loosened up the last 2 LWB bed bolts on the low side. I added 2 spacers on top of the frame for the rear bolt & 1 on the next inside bed bolt. Tightened it all up & she looked a lot better.

    The gas tank is the Root Cause of the Infamous Chevy Lean especially when the truck has been lowered, also if the tank were located in the rear like a car, the truck would be leveled at any height.

    My last 2 c10s I installed a front sway bar and it got rid of the lean for me.

    • @COWBOYZNATION
      @COWBOYZNATION 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had always planned on a GM rear sway bar off a 1 ton dually for my 1/2 ton, but never got around to it. Should all bolt right in. I figured it would help out a lot in both city & highway driving.

    I constantly get approached at gas stations and asked if I want to sell my truck. When I asked what they're offering it's like $5K-$8K. LOL Im's like "The paint job alone was twice that"

    Is the chevy lean caused by the fuel tank?

    • @COWBOYZNATION
      @COWBOYZNATION 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really think it is just frame twist. Not from a wreck or anything like that.
      I added a 3/4 frame to a 1/2 ton truck, back 20 years ago. It amazed me how much thicker & stronger that 3/4 frame was!!

      It just takes some "magic" finesse raising & lowering the body/frame of the truck as you line up the shackle holes to the spring perch.

  • @johnnyalberty6071
    @johnnyalberty6071 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    do you do anything to the drivers front or just add the lift shackel to the rear ?

    • @gmtim3840
      @gmtim3840  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A lot of times the rear will fix the front as well but if it doesn’t you can just use a lift block or cut a half a coil and then heat and flatten it back out. Twist block is easier.

    I really like the look of this one. I have an 85 Sierra 3500 crew cab longbed I want to drop. This is right about where I want it to sit, just a little bit of rake in the back for that “hot rod” look. The air deflector looks great. I’m glad I saw you answer that you used a 4wd version. Do you happen to remember the backspacing on your rear wheels? I’m debating between 20x10 or 20x12. Great trucks and videos.

    Would it be the same for a second gen s10? It has 5/5 drop. I used the coil spacer that came with the lowering coils. Put it in the driver side. I just did put new leaf springs on it. Maybe it's fixed. Lol.
