    I just searched for this Problem after I cut the connectors of my Traxxas 6s 2200kV Motor and had massive problems to solder on longer wires... I managed to get it done after brushing of the wires with a dreml tool but it is ugly as hell. Listen to this man!

      I am sorry this happened to you but I am glad it’s not only me! 🤷‍♂️😉. Good job getting it sorted out though.
      it is always in the back of my head now if I created more resistance by doing this… And all of a sudden my Traxxas not is abour 4 miles an hour slower… Still not sure what’s going on yet.

    Good to know. The CC 6.5 and 8mm bullets are awesome. I used to run them in my 1/5 scales. One day I would like to compare the EC5 vs CC 8mm.

      You may be able to sand then wires down (I have read/hear this) but I was too stressed to try it (I would have been pissed if I ruined an overpriced Velineon motor.😀
      Also, I may have been able to solder new wires onto the windings in the motor but I was not sure if they used high temp solder. Maybe one day I will investigate that further but for now I am going for 90 plus mph on the stock electronics!

    Wow thats gotta be the biggest Convict Cichlid I ever seen...In the tank with Albino Oscar, Salvini, Red Terror, ect ect...Looks like they developed a stable hierarchy too...My community cichlid tank is chaos since introducing a Green Texas...Was stable before that but it is calming down again

    • @BriansRCStuff
      @BriansRCStuff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol, it is a big Convict! Nearly 7 inches. We have 2 males and that big one was picked on for like a year by what used to be the bigger one. It breed with our female and just made the one that is big now have a hard life. We had to put the female into a different tank and eventually that big one outgrew the other one and became dominant absolutely making the previously dominant on have an absolutely miserable life giving back what it got and then some. It got so bad we had to remove the breeding male and it now lives with its breeding female in a smaller tank…
      That big convict is now one of the least dominant fish in the big tank (used to be number 2) as the other fish outgrew it (Mayan cichlid we caught in Florida which looks like a red terror, Red Head cichlid, etc.). We have 11 tanks and some really interesting combinations that “break the rules” but it works for us.
      We also have problems with our Texas cichlids because we have two and I had to take one of them out as it got beat up badly. But otherwise that tank is very stable! The oscar is still king and I hope it stays that way because he doesn’t really pick on the other fish, but keeps them in their place.
      You know you fish for sure! What else do you have in your tank?

      @@BriansRCStuff the first wires i tried (generic solid core) didnt really work, but my main issue was I had a bad ESC. So i used the Traxxas Lifetime warranty, bought some 3.5mm bullet connectors. and that should get here in a couple days.

    Damnit, I just cut mine and found this video in trying to figure out how to get new bullet connectors on.... I learned my lesson. There goes $70+ dollars for me. lol Maybe I'll try sandpaper and a 300 watt solder gun?

    • @BriansRCStuff
      @BriansRCStuff  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Oh, that sucks!
      It is worth a try! Try to remove as much of the coating as you can and hopefully you can get them to tin/det a decent connection. ☹
      Maybe your hobby shop can help if you can't get things to work. Mine was very helpful.

    Trying to melt Traxxas solder can be a bitch too because it’s ROHS Compliant solder and has a super high melting point and dries much harder than normal solder

    A dip in muriatic acid where your solder joint is going to be on the wire should take the coating off..

    Older 2 pole velineon motors you can shorten. Not the 4 poles...I still have (3) 1st gen old working 2 poles. Never overheat them, (stay on 2s), rebuild bearings cut wires as you please, and they will run hard for many years

    • @BriansRCStuff
      @BriansRCStuff  ปีที่แล้ว

      So they don't have the coat copper wire?

    • @ragsixracing
      @ragsixracing ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the wires are smooth coated not braided. Used to run them in carpet oval slashes late model class and mod sc. They overheat easy, so no 3s bashing. They would pull harder with taller gearing, better laps, and overheat. Learned to drive more conservative and wreck less. 2 poles did just fine geared right with shortened wires in a race truck👍

    • @ragsixracing
      @ragsixracing ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep them under 160°f and run forever. Overheat it and they lose power and heat up faster.

      I'm confused. Is tinning where you add tin or try to remove it? Why didn't the local hobby shop fix it that you ended up with a new motor anyway? Why bother with them when I'm sure they charged you 50 to fix you get just get a new vxl motor for 50 from Jenny
