@@Pix2008LI don't think you understand how Legendary animals are hunted..... you'd HAVE to get out of the buggy in order to inspect the clues, and what happens if you get out while not behind anything for a cover? That's right, a bullet in the head.
Like how they put the legendary pronghorn down there so it's extremely difficult to get when it's trinket would have been so useful during the game,if you wait until the epilogue it's kind of moot by then,sounds more like something some behavioral scientist would dream up to study people's reactions.

Yeah, actually I think that the one that shouldn’t be allowed in new Austin is John, for he is the one that said he’d never been there in RDR1. Since Arthur dies, he would have been able to go there not affecting RDR1 continuity. I mean, as a gang they never went there but Arthur alone could have gone to new Austin, except Great Plains and black water as it is in the game. Then, John forbidden to go to new Austin, at least until the very end of the prologue to not mess RDR1 continuity. (Which is silly because John does go down there with Sadie)
@@kratos-e7q I can't post a link for you because yt always deletes my comment, just search yt for that mission + Arthur going to NA. It's not hard to do. During that mission you can get almost everything, there are No herbs, predators, legendaries, but you can get the mustang, gold, all the desert skins for the trapper. I forget what all now since it's been a while since I did it, the bad thing is time stops and it's in the middle of a foggy night the whole time
If you're in Chapter 4 doing the mission Angelo Bronte, A man of Honor where you have to go with John Marston to the cemetary, you have to been seen by the law, run away, jump on your horse and escape the law with John... then you can visit New Austin during nightfall without any lawmen and sniper...

I recently just tried to replay the mission and go, you can go and explore but nothing from that mission playthrough saves, so its pointless.. I'm only going to assume this works when you play this mission on your playthrough once you're passed it its too late lol.
I’m pretty sure you can just go there in “Angelo Brontë a man of honor” after the graver robber fight. In stead of finishing the mission just drive to new Austin and get what you need.
@@Ahmed-qb8yk I think as long as Arthur is out of the screen the sniper can't get him. That's the point of the wagon. It stops Arthur from being in camera.
@@Ahmed-qb8yk When you get off the wagon, make sure you never see Arthur. If you use Photo Mode, you can swing the camera around and figure out exactly where the plants are so that you can park the wagon right next to it. Get off, grab the plants then get right back on.
Do you know if the Angelo Bronte glitch still works? I’m trying the method you described but pinkertons keep spawning right in front of me and destroying the buggy. I’m playing on ps4 so I can’t use any mods
I hate Rockstar for fixing the bug with the graveyard mission - what’s the problem when a guy in a SINGLEPLAYER game decide to use a glitch to open an area or gain money - it’s my damn SP game and i wanna get that shit with arthur big minus to rockstar bc of this
I didn’t like how Rockstar did this. They should patch it and allow us in New Austin once you get through the Great Plains. Theres no reason I have to wait until the end of the game to hunt armadillo, gilas and javelinas. Really irritating I understand Great Plains Blackwater. But New Austin? Come tf on man.
If you can, which I did, cross Beacher's Hope when the Javier Escuela mission shows Northwest of Blackwater. It's significantly easier to do then. I can often cross without even getting shot at. It's important to keep the camera angle low and facing slightly to the right, so the Pinkertons don't spawn in front of you.
@@Dariusz_1.618 The Sniper shoots just like shown in the video. That didn't stop me from gathering the last 4 herbs, as well as the Legendary Animals & trinket at Gaptooth Ridge mine. I wouldn't say it's easy to do though. There's a steep learning curve, but gets easier once learned. Whenever I collected anything I set up my console to record that minute or two so I could analyze what I was doing right or wrong so as to improve my technique. The camera angle is critical to avoid being shot by the Sniper. It's easy to avoid being shot by the Sniper when just traversing New Austin. However it's difficult & critical to keep the right camera angle when collecting plants or whatever & when shooting Legendary Animals. In those latter cases one slight mistake with the camera angle can easily result in death, but I've made such mistakes & got lucky to avoid getting shot sometimes. I completed the things in New Austin in the second chapter for the challenge of it. It required patience & many trips to learn to be able to do everything in one go. It would've been significantly easier/faster to just divide into several trips just collecting 1 or 2 things in New Austin each trip, but I didn't want to do it that way.

@@Dariusz_1.618 What's the point of driving back to safety? You only lose pocket change for dying. It's pointless to try to drive back to safety from New Austin. My point was that you don't have to get so good to the point where you can collect everything from New Austin in one run. It took me 30+ trips to get good enough to collect everything in one go because I shut off autosave & didn't save the game until I was able to do that. Whereas I could've easily collected everything I wanted in half as many trips had I been content to collect 1 herb or shoot 1 Lesgendary Animal on each run until I completed the 4 herbs, the Ledgenday Animals, & the Trinket. Try to get as much as you can each attempt, but if can't, don't sweat it.
@@_MjG_ To not dying, simple. Many people want to play games without dying. At least as few times as possible. For example I finished Resident Evil 2 not only without dying but without using healing too. In the way you present it, there is no point in doing these things with Arthur, because they are possible to do later. :) The next outfits are not needed to play. Most of them are unlocked anyway. And a lot of usefull things are locked practically until the end of chapter 2, or even in the next ones. Yes, and many want to go to New Austin in one/two/three runs. Not 30. The game is unfinished and at least in Armadillo there shouldn't be a sniper. The situation on the Great Plains is clear, but why the same is in Tall Trees and completely different in New Austin and in South Big Valley there is peace, it makes no sense. The same lack of possibility to explore Guarma even at the end of the game itself. Teleporting back from the Sisika Penitentiary. Many, many unnecessary blocking. As well as the lack of possibility to pick up herbs during the mission in the cemetery.
I can confirm this works 100% of the time. And because I'm hopeless with the camera angles, it also gets my Arthur killed 100% of the time. For a moment, it looked like you were playing a top-down version of RDR2 😆 "Let's greet a Lawman 😂" indeed! 🤣Oops!
Just research "Saint Denis horse spawn" There is a barn where if you save your game, quit to main menu then load game, random horse breeds will be at the barn. I got my Rose Grey Arabian after 2 tries.
@@Cliffster420 Is that the barn on the north end of Saint Denis where there's always 2 random horses that spawn? Tried that but i only seem to get kentuckies, tennessees, and morgans. I read somewhere that they patched it out so you can't spawn the good horses. How did you get yours to work?
@@-yeme- inadvertently, I was playing the version that came in the blue ray, without up to dating it and get two rose grays, a Missouri fox-trotter(amber champagne) and the turkoman(gold) there, then a upped to get the Perlino Andalusian(it was added in the story mode latter on), so I sold one of the arabians :). The Missoury Fox-Trotter is my favorite, named him Purple Kiss after his snout.
You don't have to save and reload the game. If you ride past the red barn and go back to between the 2 houses they respawn different ones. I go past the red barn to the intersection in the road and go back.
@Player7 To make that journey more worth the chase try using the same camera angle and do the Ridgewood Farm Gold Glitch ALSO as Arthur..i will bet you,YOU can do it..grab a nice bunch of several Gold Ingots then get killed and head back to camp
I've heard the sniper is literally the camera, so your horse will be fine if you point the camera in such a way that it's not in the line of fire. I haven't tried this yet, though, because I'm trying another method for the Legend of the East outfit before I put in the effort to try and get the New Austin plants for Herbalist 9.
Its as if if Rockstar deliberately fox this for us to find and you found it bit once we are there Theresa still nothing we can do exceot open up the map. Its nice to be wanted
@@kratos-e7q Not any good ways, I've seen people go to st denis and get a little black buggy to get in, also some have walked in with a pronghorn carcass on Arthurs back. Too much work for me. Both ways the sniper is constantly shooting at you and you have to block your view of Arthur because the sniper is your camera
@@kratos-e7q The only for sure way is the angelo bronte mission in chapter 4, that's what I did. If you already passed it, you can try to replay the mission but I'm not sure the replay will work.
So what's then after you die? Please answer, are we gonna spawn in new austin? Or we're gonna back to great plain? I hope still spawn at new austin, if baci to great plain that's mean we're still haunted by them if we try to enter that place right?
If you're in either of those areas and die, it will automatically spawn you back by Owanjiwa Lake or somewhere similar. It basically kicks you out since you're not supposed to be in those places.
You can get out and pick herbs, which helps you complete the herbalist challenge early in the game. You just need to keep the angle of the buggy between you and the sniper, once you have the herbs, you don't really need to go back until after the epilogue
Does this method still work? Just tried it out buggy and everything but pinkertons ended up spawning on the tracks and threw a fire bottle at me. I really wanna try and get the LOTE outfit as Arthur so any help would be appreciated
The whole point of Arthur being wanted dead or alive in new Austin, is that he's Dutch's RIGHT HAND MAN. He's basically second or 3rd in command for almost the entirety of chapters 1 to 6. As for it not being "justified". Well, it depends on what you WANT out of the game. But I have a feeling more would feel that it IS justified that Arthur can barely step foot in the place. If however you just want some wild west cowboy sandbox where you can do whatever, wherever as whoever, well, RDR 2 is not for you. Let me remind anyone who should happen to read this, John Marston had a much more junior role in the Van Der Linde gang. So, he wasn't on the radar of any law enforcement until after Micah get's what he deserves. And even when he WAS on their radar, the law had plans to USE John to get such as Dutch and Bill Williamson. Which is what leads to the events of RDR 1. My point being, there's no point crying or bitching or moaning about not being able to do things in new Austin, as Arthur. YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO do those things, as Arthur. And you don't NEED to either. John Marston largely picks up where Arthur left off. You only really lose a horse collection when Arthur dies. Simple fact is Rockstar could have been more brutal, and made you start FROM SCRATCH with John. Which they DIDN'T do. Marston get's Arthur's journal and documents and all of that sort of thing, and, by and large keeps most all of Arthur's progress. When you see the epilogue as completing Arthur's endeavours it makes more sense.
Being wanted in Blackwater and even the surrounding Great Plains area makes some sense, because Arthur knows Dutch and Dutch committed serious crimes there. But (1) Arthur was not personally involved in the riverboat robbery, and was off with Hosea while Dutch and Micah caused all the problems, and (2) there is no mention of Arthur committing crimes in New Austin or even going there really. I would also say that Arthur and John have somewhat comparable status in the game, being like sons to Dutch and Hosea. When you say "you're not supposed to do those things as Arthur," that is only true in the sense that Rockstar doesn't want you to do those things. It is not true in the sense that this is remotely consistent with the story. I like playing as Arthur A LOT more than as John, mostly because of dialogue but also because Arthur is the main character. I agree that John completes Arthur's journey, and that's what Rockstar wants. But the way they force you to do this is not remotely consistent with the story. It's kind of like how there are hills the game near the Witches Cauldron that cannot be climbed due to invisible walls, despite being far less steep than the actual road to Mt. Hagen or Barrow Lake or something in Ambarino. This is bad game design...if Rockstar wants an area to be visible but not accessible, they need to make it LOOK inaccessible (i.e., steep hills). The lazy strategy of just putting invisible walls is infuriating to players. I had to take a break from the game because of how annoying it was to keep finding gentle hills that the game didn't let me climb. Just remove the areas of the map or make the hills steep enough that I wouldn't try to climb them (or would expect to fail). Similarly, If you want an area of the map to be inaccessible during part of gameplay, then the story should justify that. The story does NOT justify Arthur's wanted status in New Austin. Because--and I don't know if you're aware of this--the point of games is to be fun for the players.

But your wrong in saying that Arthur Morgan himself committed no crimes in New Austin. We KNOW that he did because of various sources, specifically when the Pinkertons pay him and young Jack Morgan a visit on the riverbank fishing near the first camp. They single Arthur out, telling him that HE has a hefty bounty of some 5000 that they PROMISE they will clear if he gives up Dutch, and his response is "can I turn myself in"? A joke, obviously, but it also shows that Arthur Morgan has a bounty of considerable worth in New Austin. OK, so it's never specifically implied exactly WHAT his rap sheet is. And Arthur had been asked to go and so something else during the boat robbery that goes wrong, but we have to consider [because it's highly logical to do so] that he had business to attend to [for the gang] on land. We have to consider that business might involve transportation of some manner, securing a safe location for the gangs proceeds, and doing away with any land based threats specifically to do with that failed venture. He wasn't on the boat because he was busy causing hell to a lot of people on land, is what I'm implying. And seeing as he was Dutch's most trusted literally RIGHT HAND MAN who in Dutch's eyes would be seen as only very very slightly less dependable than himself, [Dutch] I don't think that's such a difficult leap to infer. I mean we see it numerous times over the course of the story that we do play where missions have numerous different elements with gang members having to go off and do their own little part separately for a score. And I'd put it to you that it's likely that had plans not changed for the game itself and we got some of the main story DLC as was originally slated, one of those would likely have been something to do with the river-boat job, from Arthur's perspective. By all means though, think what you will. I just think you are choosing not to see or flat out rejecting several quite obvious elements of the story just to continue this "fantasy" that Arthur Morgan was "not" a bad man. [He was in fact a VERY bad man, a killer, a robber and a con man]

I agree Arthur is a bad man at the start...he's excited to beat up a preacher (Downes) simply because the guy is a "do gooder." The game is very much about his "redemption" arc. But I can't recall any mention of Arthur even being in New Austin at any point in the game...in fact, the gang keeps talking about how they meant to go West from Blackwater but never did, which leads me to believe that Arthur didn't commit crimes there (or not significant enough ones to merit the sniper). There is no mention of New Austin in Arthur's journal...only Blackwater. You accuse me of grasping at straws, but I see no cannon that supports any of your conclusions about New Austin...I only see you trying to explain the developers' decision to set a maximal bounty on Arthur there. Moreover, in the game it is clearly stated (Chapter 1 mostly and Arthur's journal) that the job Arthur and Hosea were planning in Blackwater was a real-estate con, and they had not yet done the job...they were also trying to keep out of trouble so that the job could succeed. Arthur was *not* "causing hell to a lot of people on land," according to the game. My point to you is that your argument about the bounty on Arthur in New Austin seems to require far more assumptions than my argument. There's also the stupid part where John says in RDR1 that he's never been to New Austin (afaik), and then Rockstar forces you to go to New Austin as John in the prequel, which is bad writing. There is evidence that the developers are lazy in this regard, and that is my argument. I also don't know why you're so keen to defend the developers on this subject. RDR2 is an amazing game in so many ways, but this was poorly handled. It's also fine if we don't agree on this one thing, and I appreciate your perspective.
@@aaronfriedman8671 Assumptions? No, connecting the dots. Look, the problem with your viewpoint is that you overlook what Arthur's role in the gang was. I don't do that. He was and in fact would continue to be all through his story arc, Dutch's right hand man, his enforcer, the member of the gang who's considered to be one of the most dependable. And sure, your right that he was working with Hosea on a different scheme in Blackwater, but you overlook the FACT that the gang typically has multiple things going on at one time. And while it's not "specifically" mentioned what crimes Arthur committed in new Austin, it doesn't seem credible to me that Dutch wouldn't call him in at moments where he feels something NEEDS to go right. It's practically foolish of you to believe that Arthur WOULDN'T be wanted for anything in all of New Austin. And whether it's for something to do with the boat heist or anything else Dutch would have relied upon Arthur for a lot of what you would call "muscle" work. Ultimately you can believe what you will. But here's the reality. There is a narrative contradiction between the gangs exploits pre-story and their ones during. That contradiction is how actually "playing" the game would have been a far more difficult experience if the consequences were similar to what they are in the "dead-zones" during the story arc. They could have been "less lazy" as you put it, as in your Arthur Morgan get's shot by a sniper from 500 yards away or whatever, but said sniper is actually THERE and you can if your stealthy enough if you can figure out how, go take him out. The flipside of that is of course that crime in the entire game could have been treated the same way. Imagine racking up a 5,000 dollar bounty in St Denis and becoming so "hated" that you can't even get within half a MAP of the place before you got shot by lawmen or bounty hunters? As it is the experience we have is that for narrative reason's Arthur can't go too far south of Strawberry, but then you can loose your hunters if you get a bounty where Arthur can go so long as your not a complete novice on your horse. You know what? Think I'd rather the game as they designed it.
That’s ridiculous. When you turn the way, the “sniper” didn’t shoot but remained shooting ate your back, following the camera. Why not make all lawmen more accurate and powerful and having more danger during the way, like making seasoned players enjoy the challenge instead of punishing them? Ridiculous. @@zhoom2498 yep, but if yr interested in modding look into the mod 'wild horses', it gives the game an 8% chance to spawn horses in the wild that are normally only obtainable through buying them in the stables
@@mantarey159 oh.. that's nice to know, but i've already got the horse from cheat i found in the game that let you randomly spawn the horse. After that i'm doin the braithwaith mission glitch thing and i'm able to save the horse after that mission in chapter 4. There's a video about this method..

Unfortunately no. It's in a cave and you have to leave the cover of the buggy to get into it. The invisible Sniper is attached to the player camera so it can still hit you inside the cave. Rockstar put more effort into keeping Arthur out of New Austin then it would have took to implement Arthur going to New Austin in the game in the first place. It's vastly insufferable the Devs choose to be dicks for no reason.
@@davidbukovsky2711 Not really "end" of game. What is not being stated here, is that the epilogue is basically TWO CHAPTERS worth of content of itself. Simple fact is you can explore all of new Austin with zero issues [unless you make them] the moment your in Johns shoes, and can drop of the old ball and chain. [as in Abigail and Jack] Which means in practical terms you can do whatever you want with at least 10 main story missions to go. [Earlier in fact. You can saddle up whenever you want and put on hold numerous farm missions]

Man, I did this once with the appleseed wagon. It's a pain in the ass, royally a pain. I guess if you wanted to say you did it, have at it. But even if you keep the camera off Arthur, you still have patrols in New Austin and gotta keep off the trails somewhat. For an outfit you can't even get until halfway through chapter 3.

You can use a wagon with the cover like the one on the last mission of chapter 1 which offers you a better view of new austin but its slower so crossing great plains is hell, i tried and it works perfectly
Do not cross the West Elizabeth/New Austin bridge with the law trailing you over the bridge. Wait for the red “wanted” meter to disappear while still in West Elizabeth, then cross the bridge (quickly) before lawmen spawn. The easiest place to wait for the red bar to go down is the bridge to thieves landing because it’s too narrow to randomly spawn lawmen near you. Don’t waste time crossing the bridge once the red bar goes down or else law will spawn and then you’ll have to deal with singular lawmen patrolling new Austin randomly on your trails
@@Moushoe you have to get far enough away from the law where they are searching for you, but you are not within eyesight. While they are searching for you, head towards the southeastern bridge that connects to an island between Quakers Cove and Thieves Landing. Do not cross the bridge to the island while wanted! As the “wanted” meter is going down and they are looking for you, position yourself around 15 feet north of the bridge without crossing it. Once the wanted meter disappears, quickly head south cross the bridge to get to the island, then cross another bridge to get to thieves landing. Do not hang around the island too long or lawmen may appear. The goal is to get to Thieves Landing as quickly as possible from the Great Plains once the wanted meter disappears. This will prevent you from running into lawmen on your trails in New Austin
If you have the physical copy of the game, you can just delete it amd reinstall it but with your Internet turned off and you will have the base version of the game woth no updates and you can use any glitch you want like the one in the angelo bronte mission i used this to free roam as arthur
Great video RDR2 did injustice on Arthur Morgan not being able to explore black water and new Austin without restrictions or getting sniped. I wish that rdr2 could have allowed Arthur Morgan to do some missions or explore black water and new Austin in disguise so law men won’t go after him
@@Lucas-vd2gx Arthur have a scene with Deborah if you get all the bones so no, it's not part of the story line. We're supposed to be able to explore new austin but they run out of time probably because they haven't been able to finish the old versions of those region.
Or maybe it was a way Rockstar found to make players wanting to play with John after Arthur dies. I think that is right because no one cared about John or had the will to play as him after Arthur died. Same thing in TLOUII @@iamGabby
@@Sjdywyshshqyy I find it quite funny how in RDR 1 everyone hates playing as Jack Marston, and John get's the same kind of treatment by some players in RDR 2. Even though he's MILES less annoying than his kid and actually a LEGENDARY Cowboy, just as much if not MORE SO than Arthur. Yes, I said it, and I STAND by it. Because of RDR 1.
@@Yes-Man1337 I did all the challenges possible in chapter 2, all that was left was selling horses at the fence and the herbs, so had to wait until chapter 3 when the horse fence unlocked, got to the last horse challenge of breaking all the breads but I could not find the last one, Hungarian half bread, everyone said it could be found in great plains. I could see it from across the river with binoculars, also a bunch of bounty hunters waiting for me, so I re played the ch.2 mission where you rescue the reverend on the RR tracks, with the reverend passed out on the back of my horse I was able to go into great plains with no problems, (there I noticed that zero herbs spawned in at all, didn't know how I would get the herbs) but I was able to lasso that horse and break it, all done with that set of challenges, only thing left was herbs, but after I finished that mission and took the reverend back to his tent, it went back to the normal game and I got the notice that I now had the LOTE outfit and I did not even have to do the herbs at all. I did the same thing on my 2nd play through and it worked again. I did have all the herbs except for the ones from new austin.
Not sure what the point is, to travel there like this. The viewpoint doesn't allow you to explore anything, and it appears you cannot exit the buggy. Chance you get killed is still very evident, and then you can start all over again, stealing another buggy ? Seems like a waste of time.

I just found a way to explore Tall Trees and Great Plains as Arthur in chapter 2. Not even wanted. Caught the legendary rock bass in Aurora Basin, and some decent loot near Quakers Cove, and some new animals.
I can get into New austin as Arthur. No invisible sniper, no Pinkston chaseing you. Dont need a buggy or to carry an animal. You can not pick herbs or hunt legrndary animals. That it.

You can get out for a few seconds with gold cores & max health. You can grab masks & hats but items like Otis miller treasure & legendary animals are not possible
You can hunt legendary animals, just find the clues kill the animal and leave the corpse

Yeah, actually I think that the one that shouldn’t be allowed in new Austin is John, for he is the one that said he’d never been there in RDR1. Since Arthur dies, he would have been able to go there not affecting RDR1 continuity. I mean, as a gang they never went there but Arthur alone could have gone to new Austin, except Great Plains and black water as it is in the game. Then, John forbidden to go to new Austin, at least until the very end of the prologue to not mess RDR1 continuity. (Which is silly because John does go down there with Sadie)

During that mission you can get almost everything, there are No herbs, predators, legendaries, but you can get the mustang, gold, all the desert skins for the trapper. I forget what all now since it's been a while since I did it, the bad thing is time stops and it's in the middle of a foggy night the whole time
If you're in Chapter 4 doing the mission Angelo Bronte, A man of Honor where you have to go with John Marston to the cemetary, you have to been seen by the law, run away, jump on your horse and escape the law with John... then you can visit New Austin during nightfall without any lawmen and sniper...

I recently just tried to replay the mission and go, you can go and explore but nothing from that mission playthrough saves, so its pointless.. Yes, it still works, you just can't re-play the mission to do it. I was able to get a lot of things but none of the plants spawn during this.

You can also use this method to collect the plants for the herb challenge. Just have to make sure you keep Arthur blocked.

@@Ahmed-qb8yk I think as long as Arthur is out of the screen the sniper can't get him. That's the point of the wagon. It stops Arthur from being in camera.
@@Ahmed-qb8yk When you get off the wagon, make sure you never see Arthur. If you use Photo Mode, you can swing the camera around and figure out exactly where the plants are so that you can park the wagon right next to it. Get off, grab the plants then get right back on.

If you can, which I did, cross Beacher's Hope when the Javier Escuela mission shows Northwest of Blackwater. It's significantly easier to do then. I can often cross without even getting shot at. It's important to keep the camera angle low and facing slightly to the right, so the Pinkertons don't spawn in front of you.

@@Dariusz_1.618 The Sniper shoots just like shown in the video. That didn't stop me from gathering the last 4 herbs, as well as the Legendary Animals & trinket at Gaptooth Ridge mine.
I wouldn't say it's easy to do though. There's a steep learning curve, but gets easier once learned. Whenever I collected anything I set up my console to record that minute or two so I could analyze what I was doing right or wrong so as to improve my technique.
The camera angle is critical to avoid being shot by the Sniper. It's easy to avoid being shot by the Sniper when just traversing New Austin. However it's difficult & critical to keep the right camera angle when collecting plants or whatever & when shooting Legendary Animals. In those latter cases one slight mistake with the camera angle can easily result in death, but I've made such mistakes & got lucky to avoid getting shot sometimes.
I completed the things in New Austin in the second chapter for the challenge of it. It required patience & many trips to learn to be able to do everything in one go. It would've been significantly easier/faster to just divide into several trips just collecting 1 or 2 things in New Austin each trip, but I didn't want to do it that way.

My point was that you don't have to get so good to the point where you can collect everything from New Austin in one run. It took me 30+ trips to get good enough to collect everything in one go because I shut off autosave & didn't save the game until I was able to do that. Whereas I could've easily collected everything I wanted in half as many trips had I been content to collect 1 herb or shoot 1 Lesgendary Animal on each run until I completed the 4 herbs, the Ledgenday Animals, & the Trinket. Try to get as much as you can each attempt, but if can't, don't sweat it.

Just research "Saint Denis horse spawn" There is a barn where if you save your game, quit to main menu then load game, random horse breeds will be at the barn. I got my Rose Grey Arabian after 2 tries.

@@-yeme- inadvertently, I was playing the version that came in the blue ray, without up to dating it and get two rose grays, a Missouri fox-trotter(amber champagne) and the turkoman(gold) there, then a upped to get the Perlino Andalusian(it was added in the story mode latter on), so I sold one of the arabians :). The Missoury Fox-Trotter is my favorite, named him Purple Kiss after his snout.
You don't have to save and reload the game. If you ride past the red barn and go back to between the 2 houses they respawn different ones. I go past the red barn to the intersection in the road and go back.
@Player7 To make that journey more worth the chase try using the same camera angle and do the Ridgewood Farm Gold Glitch ALSO as Arthur..i will bet you,YOU can do it..grab a nice bunch of several Gold Ingots then get killed and head back to camp

I've heard the sniper is literally the camera, so your horse will be fine if you point the camera in such a way that it's not in the line of fire. I haven't tried this yet, though, because I'm trying another method for the Legend of the East outfit before I put in the effort to try and get the New Austin plants for Herbalist 9.

If you're in either of those areas and die, it will automatically spawn you back by Owanjiwa Lake or somewhere similar. It basically kicks you out since you're not supposed to be in those places.

You can get out and pick herbs, which helps you complete the herbalist challenge early in the game. You just need to keep the angle of the buggy between you and the sniper, once you have the herbs, you don't really need to go back until after the epilogue

The whole point of Arthur being wanted dead or alive in new Austin, is that he's Dutch's RIGHT HAND MAN. He's basically second or 3rd in command for almost the entirety of chapters 1 to 6. As for it not being "justified". Well, it depends on what you WANT out of the game. But I have a feeling more would feel that it IS justified that Arthur can barely step foot in the place. If however you just want some wild west cowboy sandbox where you can do whatever, wherever as whoever, well, RDR 2 is not for you. Let me remind anyone who should happen to read this, John Marston had a much more junior role in the Van Der Linde gang. So, he wasn't on the radar of any law enforcement until after Micah get's what he deserves. And even when he WAS on their radar, the law had plans to USE John to get such as Dutch and Bill Williamson. Which is what leads to the events of RDR 1.
My point being, there's no point crying or bitching or moaning about not being able to do things in new Austin, as Arthur. YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO do those things, as Arthur. And you don't NEED to either. John Marston largely picks up where Arthur left off. You only really lose a horse collection when Arthur dies. Simple fact is Rockstar could have been more brutal, and made you start FROM SCRATCH with John. Which they DIDN'T do. Marston get's Arthur's journal and documents and all of that sort of thing, and, by and large keeps most all of Arthur's progress. When you see the epilogue as completing Arthur's endeavours it makes more sense.
Being wanted in Blackwater and even the surrounding Great Plains area makes some sense, because Arthur knows Dutch and Dutch committed serious crimes there. But (1) Arthur was not personally involved in the riverboat robbery, and was off with Hosea while Dutch and Micah caused all the problems, and (2) there is no mention of Arthur committing crimes in New Austin or even going there really. I would also say that Arthur and John have somewhat comparable status in the game, being like sons to Dutch and Hosea.
When you say "you're not supposed to do those things as Arthur," that is only true in the sense that Rockstar doesn't want you to do those things. It is not true in the sense that this is remotely consistent with the story. I like playing as Arthur A LOT more than as John, mostly because of dialogue but also because Arthur is the main character.
I agree that John completes Arthur's journey, and that's what Rockstar wants. But the way they force you to do this is not remotely consistent with the story. It's kind of like how there are hills the game near the Witches Cauldron that cannot be climbed due to invisible walls, despite being far less steep than the actual road to Mt. Hagen or Barrow Lake or something in Ambarino. This is bad game design...if Rockstar wants an area to be visible but not accessible, they need to make it LOOK inaccessible (i.e., steep hills). The lazy strategy of just putting invisible walls is infuriating to players. I had to take a break from the game because of how annoying it was to keep finding gentle hills that the game didn't let me climb. Just remove the areas of the map or make the hills steep enough that I wouldn't try to climb them (or would expect to fail). Similarly, If you want an area of the map to be inaccessible during part of gameplay, then the story should justify that. The story does NOT justify Arthur's wanted status in New Austin.
Because--and I don't know if you're aware of this--the point of games is to be fun for the players.

But your wrong in saying that Arthur Morgan himself committed no crimes in New Austin. We KNOW that he did because of various sources, specifically when the Pinkertons pay him and young Jack Morgan a visit on the riverbank fishing near the first camp. They single Arthur out, telling him that HE has a hefty bounty of some 5000 that they PROMISE they will clear if he gives up Dutch, and his response is "can I turn myself in"? A joke, obviously, but it also shows that Arthur Morgan has a bounty of considerable worth in New Austin.
OK, so it's never specifically implied exactly WHAT his rap sheet is. And Arthur had been asked to go and so something else during the boat robbery that goes wrong, but we have to consider [because it's highly logical to do so] that he had business to attend to [for the gang] on land. We have to consider that business might involve transportation of some manner, securing a safe location for the gangs proceeds, and doing away with any land based threats specifically to do with that failed venture. He wasn't on the boat because he was busy causing hell to a lot of people on land, is what I'm implying. And seeing as he was Dutch's most trusted literally RIGHT HAND MAN who in Dutch's eyes would be seen as only very very slightly less dependable than himself, [Dutch] I don't think that's such a difficult leap to infer.
I mean we see it numerous times over the course of the story that we do play where missions have numerous different elements with gang members having to go off and do their own little part separately for a score. And I'd put it to you that it's likely that had plans not changed for the game itself and we got some of the main story DLC as was originally slated, one of those would likely have been something to do with the river-boat job, from Arthur's perspective. By all means though, think what you will. I just think you are choosing not to see or flat out rejecting several quite obvious elements of the story just to continue this "fantasy" that Arthur Morgan was "not" a bad man. [He was in fact a VERY bad man, a killer, a robber and a con man]

I agree Arthur is a bad man at the start...he's excited to beat up a preacher (Downes) simply because the guy is a "do gooder." The game is very much about his "redemption" arc.
But I can't recall any mention of Arthur even being in New Austin at any point in the game...in fact, the gang keeps talking about how they meant to go West from Blackwater but never did, which leads me to believe that Arthur didn't commit crimes there (or not significant enough ones to merit the sniper). There is no mention of New Austin in Arthur's journal...only Blackwater. You accuse me of grasping at straws, but I see no cannon that supports any of your conclusions about New Austin...I only see you trying to explain the developers' decision to set a maximal bounty on Arthur there. Moreover, in the game it is clearly stated (Chapter 1 mostly and Arthur's journal) that the job Arthur and Hosea were planning in Blackwater was a real-estate con, and they had not yet done the job...they were also trying to keep out of trouble so that the job could succeed. Arthur was *not* "causing hell to a lot of people on land," according to the game.
My point to you is that your argument about the bounty on Arthur in New Austin seems to require far more assumptions than my argument. There's also the stupid part where John says in RDR1 that he's never been to New Austin (afaik), and then Rockstar forces you to go to New Austin as John in the prequel, which is bad writing. There is evidence that the developers are lazy in this regard, and that is my argument. I also don't know why you're so keen to defend the developers on this subject. RDR2 is an amazing game in so many ways, but this was poorly handled. It's also fine if we don't agree on this one thing, and I appreciate your perspective.

He was and in fact would continue to be all through his story arc, Dutch's right hand man, his enforcer, the member of the gang who's considered to be one of the most dependable. And sure, your right that he was working with Hosea on a different scheme in Blackwater, but you overlook the FACT that the gang typically has multiple things going on at one time. And while it's not "specifically" mentioned what crimes Arthur committed in new Austin, it doesn't seem credible to me that Dutch wouldn't call him in at moments where he feels something NEEDS to go right. It's practically foolish of you to believe that Arthur WOULDN'T be wanted for anything in all of New Austin. And whether it's for something to do with the boat heist or anything else Dutch would have relied upon Arthur for a lot of what you would call "muscle" work.
Ultimately you can believe what you will. But here's the reality. There is a narrative contradiction between the gangs exploits pre-story and their ones during. That contradiction is how actually "playing" the game would have been a far more difficult experience if the consequences were similar to what they are in the "dead-zones" during the story arc. They could have been "less lazy" as you put it, as in your Arthur Morgan get's shot by a sniper from 500 yards away or whatever, but said sniper is actually THERE and you can if your stealthy enough if you can figure out how, go take him out. The flipside of that is of course that crime in the entire game could have been treated the same way. Imagine racking up a 5,000 dollar bounty in St Denis and becoming so "hated" that you can't even get within half a MAP of the place before you got shot by lawmen or bounty hunters? As it is the experience we have is that for narrative reason's Arthur can't go too far south of Strawberry, but then you can loose your hunters if you get a bounty where Arthur can go so long as your not a complete novice on your horse. You know what? Think I'd rather the game as they designed it.

Why not make all lawmen more accurate and powerful and having more danger during the way, like making seasoned players enjoy the challenge instead of punishing them? Ridiculous. @@mantarey159 oh.. that's nice to know, but i've already got the horse from cheat i found in the game that let you randomly spawn the horse. After that i'm doin the braithwaith mission glitch thing and i'm able to save the horse after that mission in chapter 4. There's a video about this method..

Unfortunately no. It's in a cave and you have to leave the cover of the buggy to get into it. The invisible Sniper is attached to the player camera so it can still hit you inside the cave. Rockstar put more effort into keeping Arthur out of New Austin then it would have took to implement Arthur going to New Austin in the game in the first place. It's vastly insufferable the Devs choose to be dicks for no reason.

What is not being stated here, is that the epilogue is basically TWO CHAPTERS worth of content of itself. Simple fact is you can explore all of new Austin with zero issues [unless you make them] the moment your in Johns shoes, and can drop of the old ball and chain. [as in Abigail and Jack] Which means in practical terms you can do whatever you want with at least 10 main story missions to go. [Earlier in fact. You can saddle up whenever you want and put on hold numerous farm missions]

Man, I did this once with the appleseed wagon. It's a pain in the ass, royally a pain. I guess if you wanted to say you did it, have at it.
But even if you keep the camera off Arthur, you still have patrols in New Austin and gotta keep off the trails somewhat. For an outfit you can't even get until halfway through chapter 3.
It is possible with buggy only. Impossible with other wagons

You can use a wagon with the cover like the one on the last mission of chapter 1 which offers you a better view of new austin but its slower so crossing great plains is hell, i tried and it works perfectly
Do not cross the West Elizabeth/New Austin bridge with the law trailing you over the bridge. Wait for the red “wanted” meter to disappear while still in West Elizabeth, then cross the bridge (quickly) before lawmen spawn. The easiest place to wait for the red bar to go down is the bridge to thieves landing because it’s too narrow to randomly spawn lawmen near you. Don’t waste time crossing the bridge once the red bar goes down or else law will spawn and then you’ll have to deal with singular lawmen patrolling new Austin randomly on your trails

@@Moushoe you have to get far enough away from the law where they are searching for you, but you are not within eyesight. While they are searching for you, head towards the southeastern bridge that connects to an island between Quakers Cove and Thieves Landing. Do not cross the bridge to the island while wanted! As the “wanted” meter is going down and they are looking for you, position yourself around 15 feet north of the bridge without crossing it. Once the wanted meter disappears, quickly head south cross the bridge to get to the island, then cross another bridge to get to thieves landing. Do not hang around the island too long or lawmen may appear. The goal is to get to Thieves Landing as quickly as possible from the Great Plains once the wanted meter disappears. This will prevent you from running into lawmen on your trails in New Austin

If you have the physical copy of the game, you can just delete it amd reinstall it but with your Internet turned off and you will have the base version of the game woth no updates and you can use any glitch you want like the one in the angelo bronte mission i used this to free roam as arthur

Great video RDR2 did injustice on Arthur Morgan not being able to explore black water and new Austin without restrictions or getting sniped. I wish that rdr2 could have allowed Arthur Morgan to do some missions or explore black water and new Austin in disguise so law men won’t go after him

@@Lucas-vd2gx Arthur have a scene with Deborah if you get all the bones so no, it's not part of the story line. We're supposed to be able to explore new austin but they run out of time probably because they haven't been able to finish the old versions of those region.
Or maybe it was a way Rockstar found to make players wanting to play with John after Arthur dies. I think that is right because no one cared about John or had the will to play as him after Arthur died. Same thing in TLOUII @@iamGabby

As of 9/13/23 Bronte glitch still works but best to do from main mission and not replay. I had no money on replay and couldn't setup camp😢

@@Yes-Man1337 I did all the challenges possible in chapter 2, all that was left was selling horses at the fence and the herbs, so had to wait until chapter 3 when the horse fence unlocked, got to the last horse challenge of breaking all the breads but I could not find the last one, Hungarian half bread, everyone said it could be found in great plains. I could see it from across the river with binoculars, also a bunch of bounty hunters waiting for me, so I re played the ch.2 mission where you rescue the reverend on the RR tracks, with the reverend passed out on the back of my horse I was able to go into great plains with no problems, (there I noticed that zero herbs spawned in at all, didn't know how I would get the herbs) but I was able to lasso that horse and break it, all done with that set of challenges, only thing left was herbs, but after I finished that mission and took the reverend back to his tent, it went back to the normal game and I got the notice that I now had the LOTE outfit and I did not even have to do the herbs at all. I did the same thing on my 2nd play through and it worked again.
I did have all the herbs except for the ones from new austin.
If you go to a train station and then die can you get a train to those places from anywhere else?
There are no trains in New Austin.
Does putting on a mask and/or being in different clothes with different hair change anything or does it actually stop the sniper until you are wanted?

Not sure what the point is, to travel there like this. The viewpoint doesn't allow you to explore anything, and it appears you cannot exit the buggy.

I just found a way to explore Tall Trees and Great Plains as Arthur in chapter 2. Not even wanted. Caught the legendary rock bass in Aurora Basin, and some decent loot near Quakers Cove, and some new animals.

I can get into New austin as Arthur. No invisible sniper, no Pinkston chaseing you. Dont need a buggy or to carry an animal. You can not pick herbs or hunt legrndary animals. That it.

Its weird that the game doesnt want arthur in New Austin, he is wanted dead or alive in black water which is part of West Elizabeth state and not part of New Austin, so logically he should be allowed to go there
