My favorite fishing spot is located in tracy ca. Take highway 580 east to 205,exit tracy blvd,take tracy blvd north. As your driving count the rivers you cross,you want to pass over the first 2 and when you come to the 3rd bridge/river,that's the spot to fish. I've caught monster catfish and 30" plus stripped bass all day long. Chicken livers work best. Check it out. I fish close to the bridge with excellent results.

I grew up in Elk Grove and used to fish that pond as a kid in the 70’s, no trout back then, only blue gill, bass and catfish. Used to make bread dough for bait and catch fish by the hundreds. The island used to be called Pirates Island and had a huge jungle gym on it, but that was a long time ago.
Wow that would've been cool if they never changed it but overall it's still a cool place to fish.

Can you show us a closer look at that bobber on the line to let you know when you have a fish please
It is a bobber clipped to a snap swivel. Put it on the line 4th eyelet to the top. If the bobber starts bouncing up that means the fish is biting and swimming away. If the bobber starts dropping the fish on but swimming near you.
I thought artificial lures were banned from the pond did they change it recently?

Sorry for your and your cousins loss. Try switching the hooks out to smaller ones on the spoons. a lot of the time they are too big for those dfg trout in ponds like that. You will find over time that with spoon you get slightly larger trout as they tend to be older ones as the fresh release one are only used to eating power bait/feed from the trout farms. But congrats on the 1st trout on a spoon!

They ban fishing, well ban a lot of things involved in fishing, the people of Elk Grove is a joke, they blame everything on fisherman’s when everyday people literally feed the ducks bread and food they can’t be good for them. So fishing at this park sucks now, thanks Elk Grove.

@@ItGetsReelFishing yeah, they love to blame all fisherman's, i use to go there alot just to kill time when im not fishing at lakes and delta. Its where i learned how to fish. Now elk grove has ruined it for alot of people. U got lucky i guess no one came up to you about barbless hooks and artificial lures n no lead. I even pick up trash from time to time, CNR all the bass i catch.

There's a trout derby at bass lake the 1st and 2nd. They stock the day before and THOUSANDS of dollars to be caught! They have tags on them worth different amounts
