    Great presentation using easy to understand the message language. Proper electrical design is hard to do. You need to absolutly know what your doing.

    I'm confused about the inverter only neutral bus bar you mentioned. Is it since the diagram you provided has inverter loads and non inverter loads (I assume shore power only).? All my AC appliances are in one breaker box fed by the inverter so I may be over thinking it. Thanks for the great videos, I noticed that you started repeating the questions asked from your audience. It's very helpful to know what you are talking about! Thanks again 😊

    Hi Jeff,
    First of all a massive thank you for these very informative videos.
    Quick question regarding chassis grounding of inverters, gensets, solar controllers. Is this connected to the boat's bonding system or D/C ground or A/C ground ? In the end these are all connected together but what's the good practice?

      Hi Ryan, all grounds on a boat should be common, including AC and DC grounds. Make sure your AC and DC grounds are common. The chassis ground is often connected to DC negative distribution.

    Great content. I've watched the fuse video, is there a simple way of knowing if you have right fuses in an old bass boat? I am seeing mostly 10 amps for my bildge, aerator, lights, fish finder. Also is there a good size wire to go with generally speaking. Thanks.

      You'd have to cross-reference every manual for fuse / circuit breaker info on every item onboard.

    My dc panel has a single breaker for the feed wire. Can or may I wire the inverter from the dc panel feed after the breaker?

      Hi Wallace, inverter wiring is generally pretty big, for instance 2/0 wire size for a 2000 watt inverter. It's unlikely your panel has that size of wiring. in practically, 99 percent of installs, inverter wiring goes to the DC house distribution and not the panel.

    Why is black tape so bad? Ive taken tape off of wires on cars from 1966 and the wires looked like new.Seemed water tight

      Hi Mike, overtime many electrical tape become a gooey and becomes a gooey mess when removed. I only use electrical tape for temporary purposes when doing electrical work.

    What does a 2000W inverter even mean? My guess is that it can produce 2000W of power, so it can power a 800W microwave plus other items where the sum of the power consumption is 2000W? Implications for running 2500 or 3000W of appliances off of a 2000W inverter? So running a wire from the inverter to the AC panel, how would you size the wire? 2000/120 ~ 17, so a wire sized for just over 17 amps? With no fuse in between the inverter and panel. Then when sizing the wire between the AC panel and the microwave, you need 800/120 ~ 7 amps wire? Fuse at the appliance? What about wire size from the 120v shore power to the 2000W inverter? Are there any great books that cover these topics? Brand new boat owner with no experience but a fast learner. I'm also curious about inverter/chargers. A 100amp I/C charges at 100amps per hour, or less? But size the wire for the rated 100 amps anyway? And consider the 10% minimum charge rate during bulk charge when sizing a battery bank?
