I recommend the Arrow Sonora titanium/carbon muffler. Runs SIGNIFICANTLY cooler, sounds great while still providing sound suppression. The OEM header has that catalytic converter that captures an insane amount of heat and that heat transfers across the entire OEM system, and that stainless OEM muffler is scolding hot after only a couple minutes of operation. In comparison I can go on a long ride and still hold my hand on the Arrow Sonora muffler for a few seconds. I can now safely mount my rackless luggage panniers over the muffler without worry of damage. It also has the option to easily remove/install a decibel killer. I have it removed and don’t find the exhaust note annoying down the highway, nor do my neighbors on my street feel it is excessive.

I've mine for little less than a month and rode it for something over 1500 miles until now. Honestly I'm really suprised how it handles and behaves, engine has more than enough power and did not have one issue at all. The Tuareg is comfortable for longer rides to where You can ride for a full tank without a stop. Just consider that it can get hot in traffic and the hot air is blasted on your legs, but I've experienced much worse bikes than this, at the end, it's an Italian machine and it does not like to be ridden at a slow pace :)

  • @robertmills794
    @robertmills794 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Roman. Really if you want the suspension to be comfortable for the long term. I'd recommend, at a minimum, changing the springs to match your weight and possibly having the shock valving redone to increase the range of adjustment. As far as the forks it's the same song,.. change the springs to match your weight and have the valving setup to allow for maximum range of adjustment. Then work with a specialist to setup the bike for 1) Static Sag, 2) unloaded sag and 3) sag with you on it. Then once that's correct. Set the rebound damping to your liking so that the spring effect is damped when the spring is coming back to it's static state, then you can play with the compression damping to your liking depending on the road/dirt conditions you're riding.
Find a specialist in Denver and get it setup right for you, then it'll be like riding a magic carpet :)

Great review Roman, I traded in my Moto Guzzi V85TT for the Aprilia and am super happy. Loved the Guzzi except its weight and seat. The Tuareg is amazing. I also picked mine up from Imperial Sport Bikes and a shout out to their excellent service. I’m pushing 210lbs and did nothing yet to the suspension. So far so good and I’ve mostly been railing down two-tracks in Colorado. I wish there was a better selection of aftermarket accessories, but that’s to be expected. Hot, hot , hot, and I think at some point I will take the advice to replace the muffler with an Arrow or similar. It’s so hot I fear to even try some soft luggage on it. Yet that is what it is made for. Also, the hand grips are junk as you stated. One tip on mine and the guard and clutch lever broke. I’ll look out for you out there in the hills. Have fun.

Slow paced Yoga focused on stretching can help with sciatica. Thank you for the video and review. I have a deposit for a Tuareg currently and awaiting it's arrival. My self debate with my purchase is reassured from videos like this. Thank you again.

I had a really bad ongoing case of sciatica about 8 yrs ago. I found that stretching helped to the point that I haven't had any pain since. I was sitting on a step stool with my legs straight ahead of me, and leaning forward with a demolition hammer to remove floor tile. After a few days of this, my sciatica cleared up, and hasn't come back.

I wish Honda would cram that sweet 300 they got on the rebel into a Grom. Make it 6 speed, interstate capable mini moto. Probably tight fit but man the Grom would rip. Do the same with the others, the monkey and the trail 125. Sell them all in 125 and that 300 they have. It's something like 276cc. Halfway in-between a 250 and 300 but they call it a 300. Would be dope. You could take the trail 125 or a Grom across the country a whole lot easier if you wanted if they had a bigger engine as an option. Sorta like the rebel. 300, 500, and an 1100. Except if they did just two options with the minis it would really attract a lot more people to bikes like the Grom. I want a Grom bad but it's just not capable enough to get over the hills at the speed limit for me to be able to get into town with it easy enough, and that's where all the fun is. All the fun motorcycle roads near me require traveling on higher speed limits to get to. A Grom with a bigger engine would be so cool. People wouldn't have to big bore swap their Grom and then blow a hole in their casing anymore. It would be fast enough to go everywhere.
If they made all the mini motos with the larger engine option also belt driven, it would cut down on the maintenance a ton. I don't want to scrub a chain that often. The 125s are too low power to justify a belt drive but a 300 from totally would be great for belt drive. Would still be way faster than the 125.
I want a 300 Grom. I like the 300 rebel but if they put the same engine in a Grom then you could get the engine in a more affordable platform and it would also probably be a slightly faster than the rebel. Try to keep it on scooter tires like it's got now for affordability and easy of replacing tires in the garage.
My 5k used Honda Accord is way more capable than a 4k from so I just can't justify buying something that can't even get over the hills to get into town. Hondas mini motos would benefit greatly from having two different engine options. Sorta like the rebel has.

By the way: I read fully fueled weight is 204kg, so that is even higher than the Yamaha Tenere 700. Two downsides I have discovered so far: service intervals is "only" 10.000km (my Norden901: 15.000km) and from what I saw under the seat the air filter is probably hidden under the tank (takes three minutes to replace on the 790/890/901). Had the bike come a few months earlier I still might have bought that one and not the Norden 901. It is lighter and quite a bit cheaper. 80hp is perfectly enough for my riding.

Are you sure that you’ve got that correct? From what I read, there’s a 1 kg difference in the wet weight, and the Aprilia has a 3 litre bigger tank. Put the same fuel in both, and the Tuareg will be lighter.

Grateful for the new lenses I see through now with your much appreciated break down of this bike. Everyone’s personal experience matters in helping one relate. Seriously thinking about taking my chances with the Tuareg over the T7. It’s growing fellows. T7 is mean & awesome aesthetically. T660 is going to surprise us all with upsides over downsides & the more I look the more I think this can be made bad to the Bone for sure & it has all upgrades I want to make to the T7 built in. 12,600🤔. I want it at that price. Just received a quote today on a Martian red one for 15,800 out the door.🤦‍♂️ this is absurd. These dealers have to charge Sales tax on Used inventory. T7 sells way over priced with a sales tax rate around 9.5% totaling 900$ give or take & rolls for 6,000 miles & trades back in to the original dealer & the bike sells 24 hrs later with a second sales tax of- you guessed it. 900$!! Kick rocks. So frustrating. Flagstaff, AZ 🤦‍♂️

I didn't even know you reviewed motorcycles. I have seen your car reviews of course.
You did a very light gloss of this motorcycle and as nice of a guy you clearly are...you need to watch some good motorcycle reviews if you want to compete in this space.
For one thing, you need to talk about rider triangle. You can compare for example with the Triumph Scrambler many are familiar with which has good seat to peg spacing for a taller rider. You could have mentioned your height, torso to leg length ratio and your knee bend and reach to the handlebars. A motorcycle a guy 5"7" inches is interested in may not be one that is practical for a guy like me who is 6'2".
You didn't talk about throttle snatch, rev range, gearing.....a plethora of things you didn't address. Someone interested in an Aprilia tends to be a bit more knowledgeable.
Aprilia makes compelling and artfully designed motorcycles. Triumph has a real quality problem and has suffered with transmission problems for years up to present day...countless modern Bonnevilles with bad transmissions. Inexcusable.
