      @@WW2HistoryHunter No thanks necessary Eric and Eagle Eyes, you are doing something I've always wanted to do and I wish to help you out whenever I can. It's for everyone's best interests who love history just like you guys do here. Thank you for making these videos, you are one lucky man to get to experience this with your children. There's absolutely nothing easy being a single parent also, and I love how you both have a very common interest as well. Not many dads get to do these things with their children even once, but you get to watch your children learn and grow all at the same time, that I found amazing. God bless you all and may God always provide and protect you in your travels in life. I will definitely keep helping out when possible on my end guys, much love and respect, Jim C.

    What a great find EE. I know now that HH (Dad) explained and educated you well on the use of the metal detector. I noticed that as you made the finds that Dad became as excited as I'm sure you were. As the old saying goes 'The apple never falls far from the tree'. I so happy for you. Great finds in the forest! Panzerfaust tubes are rare I would think, I don't recall you ever restoring one . Another rare find was the allied .303 spent round. If it could talk it would be interesting to see if it did indeed come from a fighter aircraft! Another great video you two! The THT has been a great source of WWII information and learning! Stay safe and stay well!!

    • @WW2HistoryHunter
      @WW2HistoryHunter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes so strange to see that EE has found 3 of them twice and so glad for that. The round most likely came from a strafing aircraft we think as we think the allied troops never came there before after the war. Loved the place and thanks for you fantastic support Donald :)

    8:30 The 'A&H' markings on this spoon indicate it was bought at a famous department store that used to be in Clapham, London in the UK. The store was called 'Arding & Hobbs' very high class store for wealthy people. Meaning this spoon is indeed a trophy probably taken from POW's that were here. The store finally closed and was used in several movies including 'Do it Yourself Mr Bean'

To be able to find, what most of us, would just walk past. Just amazing. I love these finds, each one presents its own little mystery, it's own little spark of imagination as why it's there, and who was there with it. Thank you EE for the "Touching History" tour. My late father, who saw action in Italy in WW2, was traveling in a convoy in an early form of armored personnel carrier called a 'Kangaroo' (the only problem being that one's head and shoulders protruded vulnerably above the top of the vehicle) when an elite German parachute regiment (parachutists who were grounded), ambushed them.The guy next to dad was shot in the head and the Kangaroo in front was hit by a Panzerfaust . He heard the occupants - everyone of whom died - screaming. Then he saw another Panzerfaust headed straight for HIS Kangaroo, but thankfully, it just skipped over the top of them. I won't go in to the terrible details because there was other carnage as well, but this event - in which he was wounded - occurred at a place called Gaiana Canal and severely traumatized him.

      @@WW2HistoryHunter- This is the conclusion I came to as well. Probably obtained earlier in the war by a German soldier (in France possibly). I remember a remarkable find made in Russia - near the ruins of a destroyed German tank, they found an American M1A1 folding stock carbine. This unusual rifle was likely captured in Sicily, kept by a tank crewman who enjoyed how compact it was, then taken to Russia when his unit was reassigned to the Eastern Front.

    Very exciting. I gather this is on the Eastern Front, somewhere in eastern Germany. Were the three Panzerfausts retrieved or left there, due to their bad condition?
    I was rewatching the old PBS documentary Battlefield recently. The narrator claimed that the Joseph Stalin IS-2 heavy tanks were just about indestructible during the Berlin fighting. I wonder if the Panzerfausts were effective against them.

    • @WW2HistoryHunter
      @WW2HistoryHunter  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well sometimes we do see if we can save some of them and sometimes we just leave them were found. Thanks and more to come :)
