I'm currently reviewing all 4 as well and I must say they are really solid blades. Schrade listened to the end user and made a knife that folks want.. Thanks for posting.
Really impressed that Schrade listened to their fans regarding improving the knives. I like the new handles. Looks like I need to look into adding these into the collection. Love your reviews bro.
I love how they actually took feedback and made the knife better. You can tell just by looking some great improvements like the handles, look very comfortable compared to the older version. Excellent video showing the differences as well. I've been trying to get a Schrade for my dad, disabled veteran, but being paralyzed from the shoulders down so disabled myself, it's not easy.
The SCHF51 and SCHF51M are some seriously sweet looking blades! The last Schrade I got was in the mid/late 80s, and that was a Sharpfinger, which I still have. I just might have to see about adding another Schrade to my tiny collection.
Really like the updated versions here especially the addition of the Micarta handles and the slight changes they made. I have micarta handles on a couple other fixed blades I own and I really like it.
Absolutely Awesome blades!!! Great upgrades! Not a fan of the old coating on the previous models. Thanks for the well informed video. And thanks Shrade for listening to all the feedback. Thanks for a chance to win one of these Awesome Knives!!!
thanks for the awesome demo, I love the fact that not only did they listen to the feedback, but then improved a pretty awesome design! Really like the looks of the micarta version, that SCHF52 looks like one big bad boy! would love to have any of them even the first series before the upgrades!
I like the fact that Schrade listens to their customers and constant ly upgrade their product. The 51 and 52 are great workhorse knives that will be an excellent addition to my collection.
I like that Schrade is giving you a sharpening stone and ferro rod with these nice pieces of steel , making them more versatile. Also changing up the jimping on the handle and giving the pommel a little more curve for better control. Nice! I have the Schf36 and love it. This would be a nice companion to the SCAXE2L I just bought .
I love that these are full fledged out doorsman knives. Robust, sharp and designed for hard use. I would love to give one to my father for fathers day!
tim ill try to make this short as possible, to start off with there are only 3 guys on you tube that I respect. You and the other 2 always give an honest opinion no matter what u r reviewing so don't stop doing what u r doing
I love the handle design on that blade! That's awesome for retention! I also love the slick blade coating, and the accessories that come packed in the sheath! (Plus, a VERY reasonable purchase price!) keep up the good work!
I have one of their survival knives and love it so far. I bought it earlier this year and will be using it for camping trips away from home. After having that knife I would highly recommend their knives.
What i like about these knives is the point of the blades, and that nicecoating for protection . Great for cutting and piercing. And the handles are great for grip. Awesome knives Schrade
Great Review! My experience with the TPE handles on these knives is that as I have used them the the soft outer texture tends to wear off leaving the handles feeling a little harder but still comfortable. I have the F9, F26 and F37 and used them often for chopping and batoning, and I have not had any problems with handle separation or chipping. I absolutely love my new F51 and F52, especially the new handle design.
Thanks for covering the 52. Just got one and for the price point, it can't be beat. And don't dismiss the sheath. Getting a FERRO rod and a sharpener saves me a lot of time having to add my own. And it's a GOOD FERRO rod and the blades have sharp 90 degree spines, as you so perfectly demonstrated. I'll be testing mine out soon and now I know what to expect! Great work ETV!
The power of social media at work to get feedback on an award winning knife and immediately refine their product. Kudos Schrade. That's why people go apey for their knives.
I like the fact that schrade really tries to improve their knives, it's inspiring. And i think that the 51 and 52 would make great survival blades, with or without the micarta handles, they look like they could take on a beating.
The new coating and the longer length on the schf52 is awesome I would love this knife for my camping trips and my hikes out with my kids in the woods and just to take In the truck in case something happens
Tim, Great review! About the TPE handles getting chipped up, I have the F37 and I use it very often for chopping and I have never had a problem with my handles getting banged up. The knife did need some modifications with the harsh gimping on the bottom, but after that it has been a real winner for me. Can't wait for the F51 and F52 to come out.
Love that new dropdown shape on the handle- all knives should have that for more control and to keep it where it belongs- in your hand. Love the great grip with these handles too! The SCHF51 looks like a Real Winner!
I liked the 36 pretty well, but this one looks even better! That smoother top would definitely be more comfortable and it never hurts to have good looking micarta. Exposed pommels are always welcome.
These knives are a big yea for me, the coating looks stylish and usable (I don't usually like the coatings) the handles are handsome and rugged looking, the white micarta is pure and I think it just fits with the new blades, full tang is a big upside so I'm not complaining there, all in all I would love this knife
I am SO impressed with Schrade for being so responsive to their consumer base! And I'm absolutely geeked about getting the 51 and 52! I was already impressed with the 36 and 37, but the modifications they have made make these blades close to perfect! You didn't discuss it in the video, but one of the things I like is that the choils seem bigger. Between that, the removal of that bottom jimping, and the increased length of the handle, couldn't ask for anything better. The 51 has jumped to the head of the line for me in terms of a primary get-home-bag blade. On a different note, if you haven't done so already Tim, it would be great if you'd join Meeting of the Prepared Minds on FaceBook. Very welcoming space for TH-cam reviewers.
great review, and in spite of what some say about the brand, i think schrade's bushcraft/survival knifes are without a doubt the best bang for the buck of any on the market - bar none.
Excellent reviews! I own a 37 and find it a bit cumbersome for fine cutting. The 51 is a perfect medium between my 37 fixed blade and my 501S folder. The smooth finish is a nice improvement as well.
THE ULTIMATE GIFT!!! Just like the SCHF36 which is a great survival knife...and for that price...WHAT?! 1095 steel, a great design....I have to get one. Wait what?! a new version with a improved handle and a much better coating?! even better!!! This is proof that Schrade is really listening to their customers regarding to improve their products. If I would win this I will give it to my dad and probably buy myself one too later since Im in love with this knife :P
That 51M looks like the perfect knife for a couple of teenage boys of mine. Tough, durable, and no big loss if something bad happens to it, due to the low cost.
Both of them would work great for a camping trip. I like the new coating. The price is good to. And you have a choice of what handle. I liked both of them.
I'm currently reviewing all 4 as well and I must say they are really solid blades. Schrade listened to the end user and made a knife that folks want.. Thanks for posting.

I love the face that they took the considerations/ criticism of the users and abusers and made the knives better in every way
This line is great. Absolutely love the quality design and the durability of the blades. Would love to add one to my knife collection.
I like that Schrade is giving you a sharpening stone and ferro rod with these nice pieces of steel , making them more versatile. It's great that Schrade listens to its customers and TH-cam reviewers.
Pretty cool they listened to peoples' feedback to improve their items. Exactly why I love Schrade- always have quality and the consumer in mind!
My husband loves the fire steel & the strong handle. That's great you listened to consumer feedback.
I love that these are full fledged out doorsman knives. Robust, sharp and designed for hard use. I would love to give one to my father for fathers day!
Really liking that you took some of the feedback from customer's to update and really make some great updates to the SCHF51. Liking the new grip
Love that they listened to feed back, removed the bottom jimping, etc. nice knife.
I really like the change in the handle length, and the shape of the handle. I LOVE the new coating and how clean it stays. Great job on the changes!
What I like about this offering is the balance among form, function, and looks. Really nice knife.
Awesome knifes at the price. I like the improvements from the 36&37. Would love to have one.
I love all 3 because of the superior ergonomics and the shape of the blades and the micarta handles are just plain beautiful
loved that they listened to feedback and upgrades. Awesome knife. thanks for the chance
I like that it will have the Teflon-like coating. Anything that helps with cleanup is always a PLUS!
love the look and feel of the new line. Awesome how much Schrade cares what we think. Please count me in.
Schrade hit it out of the park with these and the price point, wow for such good quality. They have definitely stepped up their game.
tim ill try to make this short as possible, to start off with there are only 3 guys on you tube that I respect. You and the other 2 always give an honest opinion no matter what u r reviewing so don't stop doing what u r doing
Hubby LOVES the design and the sharp edges that seems to last forever. Loved the new design!
I love the handle design on that blade! That's awesome for retention! I also love the slick blade coating, and the accessories that come packed in the sheath! (Plus, a VERY reasonable purchase price!) keep up the good work!
It's hard to choose just one knife. These knives are all awesome. They are perfect survival knives.
I've had my SCHF51 for a year and ready used the heck out of it and it still looks great. No Nick's out of the handle, so far. Great video. Bro.
Michael Kish thanks for sharing that info.
The new grip design & less jimping on these models have sold me completely, looking forward to them arriving over here in the U.K.
Love the new line. Handles look great. But the drop point is what I love most. Thanks for the video.
I love how they removed the gimping from the bottom and those handles look super comfortable.
I love the scales. They appear extremely ergonomic and easy to maintain a solid grip.
Love the less aggressive jimping, comfortable grip and Teflon coating.
I have zero complaints about these knives. love them!
Love the new coating, micarta and the way the gimping is low on the micarta 51m. Great vid thanks!
I absolutely love the size and micarta handles of the 51M! Very woods friendly!
Thanks for covering the 52. Just got one and for the price point, it can't be beat. And don't dismiss the sheath. Getting a FERRO rod and a sharpener saves me a lot of time having to add my own.
