      Same here....
      I totally forgot I had Fondant Punch tools for shapes, even after I started researching for the letter and number punches.
      I also have Silicone Molds, that are now just in a Box. I don't use them, because I never remember I have them.

      I read your comment and then I saw your name. All Michelle's are like that😂
      I recently did some sort of organising so let me try and see if I can help you if you haven't thought of that yet.
      - Keep all your cookie cutters in one bin. I separate them by theme or shape,for instance I will put mermaid tail,shell,seahorse and starfish together. I either tie the cutters together with a string or I put them in a ziplock bag and label . This makes it a little easier to find if you have tons of cutters like I do. I do the same with moulds ,embossers and stamps, I have them all separated in bags so I don't need to go through a whole pile and waste time doing so. Another thing I do, when I'm done with say Christmas or Halloween I put everything including cutters out of my way as I know I will definitely not be needing them till the following year.
      -All my handy tools like scrapers,fondant tools go in one bin.
      The other tip is to STOP BUYING🤣🤣🤣🤣 Good luck

    I love you so so much for being realistic at all times. When explaining the use of the cake leveler, you did mention the fact that some people use long knife to cut through the cake to level and that you would never be able to get that right. I have, all these while be thinking that because I am an amateur baker/decorator that's why I never get to level cakes correctly with the long knife. Now, I feel normal.

    Hi Karolyn. I sometimes use a cake leveler. But most of the time I level the cake in the cake pan. I watched JJR on You been desserted. He said another way is to lock your arm to your side and you will be able to get a straight cut. It really does work.

    • @KarolynsKakes

    Agree with all your tools! I have 3 must hav'se to add that are game changers for me. The cake leveler that I absolutely love... The Agbay Professional Double Blade. I first saw it in Sharon Zambito's videos on how to do topsy turvey cakes. It's heavy duty, long, and so easy to use (best money I ever spent). The 2nd tool is my pasta roller attachment that hooks to the front of my kitchen aid. Making fondant pieces is so much easier to roll them thin with the different settings. Plus, once you roll out a thin piece, you can change the to the fettucine attachment and it cuts perfect 1/4" strips. And the 3rd is my Wilton cake divider chart. I know you mention you can't use it because they don't sell it anymore (trust me, as a former Wilton employee who worked in the decorating room, we tried countless times to get the product developers to bring it back!) I use it constantly for adding stripes, or anything I need to have even on the sides of the cake. I also roll my fondant on it to get it to the correct circumference when covering my boards or cakes. Thank you for continuing to bring us great videos!

    Hi Karolyn, great video! Thank you for your list, watching your videos I've taken notes and ordered everything but the printer and airbrush system.
    I do have a small airbrush that I bought for makeup but never used it. I'm wondering if that will work?
    I'm trying to stay organized so I've purchased a pencil tote for the small hand tools, square totes with lids for my colors, flavors and fondant and put them on a cart I got from Michael's, so when I'm making cakes or cupcakes I just wheel it out and have everything in one place. So convenient and saves time.

    • @KarolynsKakes
      @KarolynsKakes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't see why your airbrush wouldn't work. How strong is the spray? The kopykake one is pretty powerful at the highest setting.
      I need to do more organizing. I have a chest of drawers I got from IKEA that I keep a lot of stuff in. Once I move, I am going to reorganize everything. That's a bit away though. But those totes and carts really make a difference!

      @@KarolynsKakes ok I'll have to try it with the airbrush paint. I saw that kake with the dinosaurs and what a difference the airbrush details make!

    Well Nutter Butters..
    It's going to be a while before I get the Air Brush or Printer lol. I have some basic fondant tools, but not that one... Looked and Amazon says it's out of stock and they don't know when or if they will get any more.
    I too also love the leveler, I can't cut it straight to save my life! Lol.
    But my new favorite tool is my new turn table. I have the plastic Wilton brand, which was fine, but my husband washed, and for some reason, it wabels now. So I got a New metal one which is so smooth. I like it also because it has the rings on it. So I can easily get the cake dead center every time. I also love my duster bag thingy. It has a cup it sits in, open the handle and I fill with corn starch, tada lol.
    Oh but honestly my most Favoritest Tool when Baking, is you! I have baked a cake in months without looking up your videos and making sure what I am doing I'd right for the outcome I want. Most the time, it is basic knowledge, and Ideas. I may not do exactly what you do, but I take insparation in what you do, and make it fit what I am miking

    Is there a reason you like this airbrush machine as opposed to cheaper versions of the airbrush machine. I have the Master Airbrush machine. Trying to figure out if it is worth the investment for this brand. I always seem to have issues with the Master Airbrush machine. Thanks for your input.

    • @KarolynsKakes
      @KarolynsKakes  ปีที่แล้ว

      This was recommended to me years ago (like 12 years ago), so it's been the first and only one I've ever used. The only time I had an issue with this one is when I use the luster airbrush sprays. They always clog the gun. Other than that, it has worked perfectly for me! Maybe that's why it's pricier? What are the issues you have with yours?
