    This is how my Southern Mom made cobblers. They always had the dumplings inside. I plan to make this for Christmas this year (using frozen peaches.) I'll throw in some fresh Mexican-grown blueberries I bought. It'll be a little taste of summer on a cold Christmas day. Thanks for your video which I will use as a guideline for the measurements. Happy Holidays 2024!

      I'm so glad to hear that my recipe is like your mom's and that you plan on making a cobbler of your own for the holidays. I think that the blueberries would be a fantastic addition.
      Please let me know how your cobbler turns out--I know it'll be amazing.
      Happy Holidays to you as well! 🍑🥧🎄🦌☃️

    I would add a quarter cup of Cream Sherry for a quarter cup of water for the intense flavor. What are your thoughts?

    • @ParnellTheChef
      @ParnellTheChef  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Nathaniel!
      I have never worked with cream sherry, actually, so I honestly can't comment. I think it could work, but you have to remember that peach flavor is delicious but subtle, so you have to be careful to not "cover up" their flavor.
      Let me know if you give it a try. Thanks for watching! 👍😀🍑

    You are so right about frozen peaches needing some help with their flavor so punching it up with a bit of sugar & cinnamon is perfect Parnell. I liked how you heated up the peaches too, I wouldn’t have thought to do it, but it makes so much sense.

  • @WineDinewithJeff
    @WineDinewithJeff 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Parnell yet another fantastic cobbler recipe from you. Going with the frozen peaches instead of the canned was definitely a good call since they have more flavor. The brown sugar and cinnamon I’m sure just added the perfect amount of sweetness and spice. The dumplings inside the cobbler I can imagine just soaked up all that delicious cobbler flavor. Great work on the lattice work because the presentation was beautiful.

    Heya Parnell it’s great that you’ve used frozen peaches here! I tend to work with a lot of frozen fruits because it can be hard to gage how much you need since I usually cook for myself or for two, and its easy to not have leftovers go bad. Looking awesome, I need some with vanilla ice cream!

      Hi, Thelma!
      Personally, I prefer cobblers that hold their shape when cut, so they can't be too juicy for me. However, if you want more juicy, you can definitely add more water or less cornstarch. I would probably reduce the cornstarch by half...
      Let me know how it turns out!👍😀
