Her voice always sounds tribal, almost primal in nature. But with Rechenka she really sounds like a shaman summoning the spirits of her ancestors. Which is fitting, considering what the song is about :)

Diana has something mysterious, mystical in her voice. She is a dramatic contralto, the rarest contralto-type. If Dimash is the universe, then Diana is the earth, our home... and when you hear her voice, you feel like, she's wrapped you in a warm velvet blanket and serving you a cup of hot, dark chocolate.
Diana was born May 2003. 31 in Arsenyev in the Far East Russia. She didn't have a happy start in life. The woman, who gave her birth, had 12 pregnancies, only Diana survived... and she did not want Diana either, mistreated her severely and tried to drown her. Relatives found the girl with a broken collarbone on the street and took the 3-year-old girl to a children's home shortly thereafter. Only then did she find love ... from Irina Ponik. She worked as a massage therapist and treated children from the orphanage. Irina Ponik and her daughter Nastya fell in love with Diana and took her out of the orphanage. Irina had two children of her own. Taking a child into the family was of course not easy for her... but she adopted Diana at the age of 5 and became, as I call it, Diana's 'real mother'. Diana has lived in a poor but loving family ever since. Since she was lagging in her speech development and even stuttered, she received singing lessons on the advice of a doctor.
In 2012, the family moved thousands of kilometers away, to Togliatti, because Diana did not let go of the fear, that the woman, who gave her birth, would take her away.
Diana's voice and sense of rhythm were extraordinary even as a child and she won over 50 competitions in Togliatti and the surrounding area. Her confidence grew, her voice continued to develop, and Diana's stage costumes swallowed up the family budget. So, her mother completed a sewing course and has been sewing all the clothes herself since then.
One day Diana was advised to take part in competitions further away, so that the other children also had a chance to win.
Diana convinced with her talent and her voice in numerous national and international competitions, the Chinese competition for young artists and the competition.

To the general surprise, none of the judges turned around but the whole audience gave 'standing ovation'. The next day, a huge scandal broke out on the Internet. People demanded for Diana's participation in the competition.
In 2018 and 2019, a unique international competition 'You are Super', especially for adopted and orphaned children, was launched in Moscow, which Diana won. These performances were broadcast nationwide, uploaded to TH-cam and made Diana known worldwide. She now has any Millions of fans all over the world.
In the Kremlin Palace takes place the final of the international singing competition for children 'You are super!'. The winner of the season is determined by a 6-day viewer vote.
Igor Krutoi, mentor and jury member of the competition, gifted Diana an apartment in Moscow. So, she could continue her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskaya (videos on TH-cam).
The break of voice made her voice darker and deeper. She worked hard to get the lost high notes back and expand her vocal range. She likes to paint and draw, so much that we can be glad that she decided to sing… but have you noticed that she only holds a microphone in her right hand? The left-hand underlines and paint, what she is singing. Diana puts her whole soul into each song. That all makes her performances special and unique.
But she's not just a great singer, she's also a humble young woman, who loves her family and appreciates, what they sacrifice for her. She loves her fans (they are 'Friends' to her) and she is grateful, that they help to improve her home studio. On TH-cam she also regularly answers the many questions of her Friends. Her Russian fans chosen Diana as "National Treasure" (no official title).
She is about to graduate from school and then wants to start university. She recently absolved the entrance exam for the Russian Theater Arts Institute (GITIS) in Moscow, Pop department. She also wants to learn to compose and arrange her own songs.
In her home studio, she is currently experimenting (Corona time) a lot with different music genres and performing on both large and small stages.

“Diana Ankudinova, A Russian National Treasure”, I have been following her for awhile. She is another very interesting story that you will discover. Wait until you hear “Take On Me” or "Human" or "Rechenka" Even though it is in Russian you still feel the emotion behind it. I've heard her sing in Russian, English, French and Spanish so far. No matter what language it is beautiful. Her Russian fans are the BEST!

She entered her first kids contest in Russia where she sang a song that required masterful yodeling.

And at 13 her rendition of “ Me Voy” in Spanish. Heartfelt and brings tears.

Thank you for your reaction to Diana Ankudinova. Diana actually turned 17 on 31st May 2020, but was 15 at the time of this performance. The show she is on here is Ты супер! (translated as "You are Super") and it is for children who have found themselves without parental care at some point in life. According to the programme, Diana was abused by her biological mother until around the age of 3 years, and ended up in an orphanage. While there, a massage nurse named Irina Ponik took care of her, and a strong bond was formed, to the extent that a year afterward Diana was adopted by Irina, and Irina has been her "Mom" ever since. It seems that for the first year or so Diana would hardly speak, and singing lessons were recommended, and the rest is history. Diana is now with a loving family, and her music training goes from strength to strength. Since winning the show, she has received much support from Igor Krutoy, - the bald guy who pressed his button last - who was on the judges panel the previous year, and who is one of Russia's foremost composers and song writers. You will undoubtedly see him play piano for Dimash when you get to some more of his performances. Diana's cover of "Rechenka" a Russian folk song, on the same show in 2018 is something else, and very much worth watching. At first, I had to laugh when you said she's probably going to be "pretty good"! I already knew you were going to have to pick your jaw up off the floor! You have discovered the tip of the iceberg. There is so much for you to discover. She is a natural in every regard as a complete performer. She has had that stellar quality since the age of 5. She is 17 now, and is considered a National Treasure in Russia. Like many performers during these times, she really needs the stage. She sings songs in Russian, English, French, Spanish, and German. She brings all the emotion of any song she takes on. No one comes close. I am looking forward to more reactions to Diana!

Excellent reaction! I get goosebumps . every . single . time I listen to this song and anything else she performs. Here's more information:
Diana, with her voice, can make any song her own, not like the original. If you look at the songs that she has sung, then apart from the "Wicked Game", this is in the order of the time they were performed (not to mention the songs that Diana sang at the age of under 14). She has a tremendous survival story starting with being beaten severely by her birth mother (an alcoholic) and thrown out into the street at the age of 3 or 4 with a broken collarbone. She was placed in an orphanage where she was eventually adopted by a physical therapist. Her adoptive mother got her singing lessons hoping this would help her regain her ability the speak, Diana took off with the singing lessons and first appeared on the Russian TV show, "You're Super" for disadvantaged and abused kids, at the age of 13. She won the contest for the next two years, and is now being sponsored by Igor Krutoy, a major mover and shaker in the Russian music industry. Igor also composes and plays piano for Dimash.
Thanks for your time and reaction for Diana, she deserves all the attention we can give her. She was 15 years old for this performance. Diana's voice type is Contralto, rarest and deepest voice type for women. There are three types of contraltos, Diana falling into the dramatic contralto. She sings in her native Russian, also French, English, Spanish and some German. Uses many different singing techniques to deliver or convey the emotions of the lyrics to an audience. She is 17 years old now, born May 31,2003, currently auditioning for a scholarship at Gitis College in Moscow for theaterarts/music voice. Thanks again for your kind words for Diana.

Season 3 Super season: best of the best called back including Diana Ankudinova, won again.
It's an incredible show in which talented children without parental care have a chance to express themselves and demonstrate their vocal abilities to the whole country.
Over the years the project "You are super!" the show helped young stars to reveal their vocal talents and take their first steps into
a professional musical career. Some participants fulfilled their dream and found their long-awaited parents.
In the first two seasons, the project involved children from Russia and the CIS and Baltic countries
- Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Estonia and South Ossetia, as well as from Germany and Syria.
So I got my ticket for this journey by subscribing, and happy to go with you on your journey exploring her talent.

Diana was born May 2003. 31 in Arsenyev in the Far East Russia. She didn't have a happy start in life. The woman, who gave her birth, had 12 pregnancies, only Diana survived... and she did not want Diana either, mistreated her severely and tried to drown her. Relatives found the girl with a broken collarbone on the street and took the 3-year-old girl to a children's home shortly thereafter. Only then did she find love ... from Irina Ponik. She worked as a massage therapist and treated children from the orphanage. Irina Ponik and her daughter Nastya fell in love with Diana and took her out of the orphanage and Irina became, as I call it, Diana's 'real mother'. Irina had two children of her own. Taking a child into the family was of course not easy for her ... but she adopted Diana at the age of 5. Diana has lived in a poor but loving family ever since. Since she was lagging in her speech development and even stuttered, she received singing lessons on the advice of a doctor.
In 2012, the family moved thousands of kilometers away, to Togliatti, because Diana did not let go of the fear, that the woman, who gave her birth, would take her away.
Diana's voice and sense of rhythm were extraordinary even as a child and she won over 50 competitions in Togliatti and the surrounding area. Her confidence grew, her voice continued to develop, and Diana's stage costumes swallowed up the family budget. So, her mother completed a sewing course and has been sewing all the clothes herself since then.
One day Diana was advised to take part in competitions further away, so that the other children also had a chance to win.
Diana convinced with her talent and her voice in numerous national and international competitions, the Chinese competition for young artists and the competition 'Talents of Wolgaland'. She is a multiple winner of the Grand Prix of all-Russian and international singing competitions.
2011 - Gold medal in the competition for young artists in China
2014 - silver vote in the all-Russian competition 'Talents of the Volga'
2016 - Grand Prix at the international 'Crystal Gift' competition
2017 - Gold Medal at the All-Russian Youth Delphic Games
2017 - Grand Prix of the Moscow Time Festival

In the Kremlin Palace takes place the final of the international singing competition for children 'You are super!'. The winner of the season is determined by a 6-day viewer vote, in which not only Russians, but also residents of the CIS countries take part, all viewers of the TV show. By 11 participating countries also will be selected from the finalists the names of the participants in the “Children's New Wave”, the “Junior Eurovision”. The winner of the audience award in 2018 at the “Children's New Wave” festival became Diana.
Igor Krutoi, mentor and jury member of the competition, gave her an apartment in Moscow so that she could continue her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskaya (videos on TH-cam).
The change of voice made her voice darker and deeper. She worked hard to get the lost high notes back and expand her vocal range. She is about to graduate from school and wants to start university. She also wants to learn to compose and arrange her own songs. Her fans gifted her a home studio and so she is currently (Corona time) experimenting a lot with different music genres and performing on both large and small stages.
