I’m happy you were able to take on this job to redo the broken concrete. Y’all always do meticulous work, so I know it will be done right this time!❤❤❤
Great job crew including new guys Joshua and Angel! 👏💕👍💪 So he's putting big double doors on front but not enclosing sides of garage area? Be interesting to see how this one comes out.
Question - 10 ft x 8 ft x 6in deep slab for my new shed. Requires 89 - 60 lb bags. Rebar n wire are done, its ready for concrete. I wish i had help but i dont. Can 1 person mix and pour manually or is it a redi mix truck only project? Thanks
@@OdellCompleteConcrete 30ft access and bad back. i might just hire some day labor to get the concrete in the frame, i can take it from there. $2000 budget to build my shed n looks like its gonna take half of that just for the slab 😒😒 even with me doing the prep work. Thanks for reply, i got some thinking to do i guess.
So that porch was essentially solid concrete but just in different forms of its make up. The way the guy did the awning supports has he left them makes for more room to open car doors rather than straight up.
I wonder if people ever take the broken concrete out, excavate the sand, then put the broken concrete back into the ground as support for the new slab. I bet that concrete would be a strong base. Of course you would still have a bunch of earth to deal with instead of broken concrete at the end of the day.
They can be crushed & recycled, they don't like them in the basecourse for roads, but are fine in the base under driveways, paths etc where there won't be lots of heavy traffic. So the recyclers like to keep that sort of stuff separated from the hard concrete.
Congratulations on 500K 🎸👍💯💥
Thanks

Long time watcher. I’m in Phoenix, and I’ve got a lot of concrete I need done coming up, I’ll likely be giving you a call.

Yes I can't wait to see the final.

FANTASTIC TEAMWORK 👍👍GREAT VIDEO 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Love your videos guys. I was wondering what was going to be in the middle of that porch, never know what you’re gonna find sometimes. 🤘🏼
I like to use a bale of straw
Amazing how deteriorated the original driveway was. It broke up going each which way for sure. I know the replacement will be a work of art.
Fingers crossed!
Thats the result you get with no reinforcement
I think there's a lot of things going on here besides just reinforcement
@@OdellCompleteConcrete soil compaction, concrete mix, concrete finish, temperature of day also factor in
I concur
So rad! thanks for the inspiration!

did you ever find out why there was such a big void under the slab?
either way, great job explaining stuff as always Mr O 👍
I would say before the dams on the river there was a lot of growth in the area, so organics are decomposing leaving voids.
What part two? Ok I will be here when you post👍
The Pour, coming soon
Great work, yeah i like the different wild life out there. Had a tortoise walk through the yard one time.
Very cool.
Hi, I'm from the EPA. I would like to discuss your form oil usage...
Sir! You heard incorrectly... He said CORN OIL ... / Put your handcuffs away please... ^_^
Just kidding it was biodegradable form oil derived from whales.
Odell have you started getting more work in Arizona? I think if you move in the Phoenix area, you should get more work / stay busier.
true
I may do that to
Nice job

You don't do any long videos?

Wait for the day when Odell uncovers a snake den.
Sounds scary unless there not poisonous
Hemidactylus turcicus Mediterranean House Gecko It has been introduced to urban areas in Arizona.
Probably to control insects

call a truck. price is practically the same. your back will thank you
Depends on access, and how good of shape you're in?

Where's the free concrete drop on AZ - is concrete block free to drop also? Im taking down a block wall.

Thank you!

They're definitely 9:20
either Arizona Mediterranean Geckos or Arizona Western Banded Geckos.
Thanks for the update
Is that 250 for the dump in California or a rock yard?
To dump a dump trailer of broken concrete.
@ at a rock yard?
A place where the old concrete gets crushed and reused for base material
In Washington we pay $20.00 a ton at the recycle center. And $20.00 a ton to buy
I think the entire West and East coast are that way
Your form work looked so nice the customer decided to skip the pour and keep it like it is. 😅
😊 thank you
Why are using a screen instead of rebars? Just wondering.
I'm in AZ no earthquakes
What's the average cost fill a sunken 14x18 room with good access 4 " deep
Anyone ?

@@OdellCompleteConcrete $2000 for 3.5 yards a pump and two finishers. Damn that's cheap Odell.
I think $2500 to $3500. Call multiple concrete contractors and compare prices
one guy can do it all

I seen a newbie break the concrete in place and then just put sand and cement over it.
What a mess.
Meth is the reason why someone would use too many nails, tweakers also love tape and spraypaint😂

Those geckos/lizards are a pain. They are all over the place here in Texas and they will sh!t on my garage walls.
Doesn't sound good
I think they are called "Ghost Geckos"

Interesting that the pavers can't be recycled. I always thought pavers were made out of concrete or dyed concrete. 😅
Pavers can be made of many different materials; in this case they are brick.
They can be crushed & recycled, they don't like them in the basecourse for roads, but are fine in the base under driveways, paths etc where there won't be lots of heavy traffic. So the recyclers like to keep that sort of stuff separated from the hard concrete.
Any red in the base that's getting tested will get rejected, even if it's just red concrete because they don't know.

You got that right, I found a new concrete supplier in the area.
Well, hopefully there are no graboids living under the ground over there 😅 ...Or sinkholes.
