@rafaeldelaflor i think the video you want is called "scientific notation and significant figures (1.7)" the video called "scientific notation and significant zeros (1.8)" may also be helpful. if those videos don't help you, send me a message with some examples of the type of problems that you would like me to explain.
@CKYAlliance32 do it from left to right. first do the multiplication, then take the answer to that and do the division. since the mantissas are 8.2, 9, and 2, your final answer should have only one significant figure. does that make sense?

@RedWOLF4Life96 if you're multiplying, you always ADD the exponents on 10. if you're dividing, you always SUBTRACT the exponents. it doesn't matter if the exponents are negative or positive: you know how to add or subtract negative numbers, right?
when you multiplied 2.12 by 3.58 what did you do to get 7.59 ? im asking because when i multiplied my answer i got was 7.5896 so i was wondering, did you do some rounding off some where ? thanks
He said he rounded them to the first three numbers. So he rounded 9 and then rounded 8, which got him 7.59 (i know its been 7 years since you made this comment but just putting it out there for other people to know)
when ur 3rd digit like in 7.5896 , then 8 is rounded up to 9 cuz it was greater than 5 . If it was 3 or 4 or something , it wouldve been 7 only i think , Kick me if im wrong and also feels good to answer a 8 year old question

Hey Tyler, this last division problem has me confused. You said when we move the decimal to the left the exponent goes down. so shouldn't the right S N answer be 2.67x10 to negative 2?
When you move it to the right, the power of 10 becomes smaller, it means you move one digit away from the decimal. That is also the same as -2-1=-4 based from the rules of integers. That's why the power of 10 became -4. I hope that helped.

I had the same problem too, suddenly I remembered about the bigger the negative number, the smaller the value.
