  • We rank the best boxers with the best ring IQ. #boxing #toprankboxing #boxinghighlights
    Japan’s pound-for-pound hero is set to headline the biggest boxing event his country has ever seen. Undisputed junior featherweight world champion Naoya “The Monster” Inoue will defend all the belts against Mexican puncher Luis “Pantera” Nery on Monday, May 6 at the Tokyo Dome.
    Inoue, a four-weight world champion and two-weight undisputed king, will headline at the iconic venue for the first time.
    Inoue-Nery and three additional world title showdowns will stream live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+ at 4 a.m. ET/1 a.m. PT. Australia’s WBO bantamweight world champion, Jason “Mayhem” Moloney will defend his belt against rising knockout artist and former kickboxing world champion Yoshiki Takei.
    The world title quadruple-header also features WBA bantamweight world champion Takuma Inoue (19-1, 5 KOs), younger brother of Naoya, who defends his title against former world title challenger Sho Ishida (34-3, 17 KOs). And, in a flyweight world title tilt, newly minted WBA world champion Seigo Yuri Akui (19-2-1, 11 KOs) battles Taku Kuwahara (13-1, 8 KOs) in a rematch of their 2021 Japanese title bout, which Akui won by 10th-round TKO.

      Disappointed that they had left him out because no other fighter of today's era had taught me brilliant subtle tactics which I can't recall seeing prior to him. One that was noticed a while back was how he'd press his glove to the loaded hip of his opponent, taking every ounce of power off of the power punch and how I'd even noticed this had surprised me but it's something that I'd never forgotten since seeing it. (Felix Diaz back at 135 still I believe is the bout where he showed this) Another thing Bud does expertly is create openings by manipulation of his opponent's guard, his probing bat down jab being one of many he uses to create those openings, a right or left hook (depending on stance he's in, lead hand hook typically) that isn't intended to hit his opponent but to snake around the guard and pull it down and deliver a cross/overhand is another one he's very gifted at having success with. Digging his chin into the collar bone when in a tie up is another subtle tactic that I'd picked up paying close attention to that name over the years and I await the next brilliant little trick he shows while he's active yet, sad that he's likely not got much longer to go in his career but at least long enough to see more of his cerebral yet aggressive style with genius level Ring IQ and that's what makes him such a tough opponent to even train for. They gotta hire both Orthodox and Soutpaw sparring partners just to prepare for him and idk many, if any at all can emulate Crawford as a sparring partner to prepare for him because I've seen so many variants of his style, even within the same bout, let alone through his career and with that world class experience for a decade+, has only made that IQ sharper as well as him developing young star talents has kept him sharp and where he needs to be. How they'd put Loma in here over him is beyond me, no dig against Loma who is a brilliant tactician, however when ESPN ranked Loma #1 P4P, Loma himself strongly rejected that position, stating that Bud Crawford was that guy. I had folks mock me mercilessly for suggesting he was the man in today's landscape (a particular partisan fan base was responsible for this mostly) and well, they laughed then, cried later when I tried to warn them that they were dead wrong throughout that debate/rivalry which dragged on for 5 years. Even pre-accident, eye injury Errol would've been stopped by Bud due to the one bad habit that Bud exploited throughout that bout and that's his habit of dropping his guard during lunging offense, against an elite counterpuncher, that spells disaster. If anyone can beat Bud, I'd say stylistically a naturally smaller, explosive counterpuncher is perhaps the style that can best this man if going on the bout he'd struggled most in at 135 against a prime and then very highly touted Gamboa which had Bud in the most trouble yet as a pro and even in that moment he displayed the IQ to clear his head and then upped his gears and beat down Gamboa. That was years ago and he's grown both physically and tactically since that precarious moment. Curious to see how he fares at 154 which seems like that's nearly the max weight of his frame but I recall people laughing when he'd upped to 147, claiming he's "too small," and then he flattened 100% of his foes as a WW, including the one many were so sure beats him. Wholly agreed and that's just a few illustrations as to why he should've been considered in this one for sure.

    Bad choices to be frank. Lomachenko and especially Jones weren't particularly smart fighters but athletically freaks. I would even ranked Manny Pacquiao higher than Roy Jones.
    Lomachenko was a lot skillful and smarter than Jones but not as smart as he looks. Against fighters who can keep up with his athleticism, Lomachenko's adjustments wasn't really look as impressive. Chavez, Sanchez and Marquez was a far smarter boxer than Lomachenko, actually.
    Toney is a little more hard to access how smart he is because of his inconsistency. He'll show great in one fight but looks terrible in other fights...even against B class oppositions. It's hard to say someone is smart if he's inconsistent.
    Inoue is s very smart one. He proves it against Fulton. His punch selections were actually even better than Tank Davis. But i just don't know how he will react if he's fighting someone who can take his punches.
    It's either your a hater, probably doesn't understand boxing, living in a rock or all of these if you don't know how smart Floyd Mayweather is. Picking him number 1 is an obvious choice and almost an obligation. That's just how smart he is.
    So ranking these 5

    • @bobbyboy900
      @bobbyboy900 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@PUGiLLiZM Completely agreed. Inoue is one of the best skilled fighters rn in boxing when in mid-long range, but inside/close range he hasn't shown to be good at using controls and manipulations to beat his opponents there. Can he compete there? Of course he can because he is a very disciplined and athletic boxer. To be fair to inoue, many fighters were not able to get to inside range against him because of how good he is at other ranges. If we have not seen him use good inside game to beat opponents then theres not way we can assume that he is a good inside fighter. It doesn't matter if he worked on it in sparring for years, if we havent seen it then its not there.
      Though, I don't understand your comment on "IQ= inside quarters". Doesnt ring iq mean just how smart you are in the ring in general not just the inside range.

    • @jordank2028
      @jordank2028 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      He can fight inside too. No one tries it because once they get tagged they get defensive. He also has a fast disgusting check hook if you try to come in on him. Every time a fighter got aggressive with him they were put on their ass on the canvas or sleeping. The power he generates at such short distance paired with his timing can definitely make a fighter think twice. Time will tell but as of right now I don't think it will be a walk in the park for anyone at 126 to beat Inoue. That division will be on high alert if he moves up.

      That was another conspicuously absent name, however this being a TR TH-cam page, they focused on their stable (or fighters whom were once TR fighters) so that is likely why he was left out of this, I think it's criminal that they'd left out Bud Crawford being that he was with TR for most of his career and probably the most subtly brilliant tacticians I'd seen yet. 😭😭😭wow I've heard it all now, he has losses on his record because of bogus decisions, corruption and injury, tell me why he hasn't been knocked out by any of these big guys. Loma hasn't actually lost a fight amateur or pro if you go watch, you could argue Lopez was a draw but Loma beat himself by taking first half of fight off, he won the most dominant rounds of the fight though.

      I disagree, his first lost was just a fucking robbery by the judges. His second though, yeah, you're right about that one. He absolutely couldn't adjust to Lopez.
