Bara, just a heads up. Recent updates have been made for exploration/resource missions. Every cluster will now have at least one "Lost pilot" that you can save within the mission. They will show up as immediate friendlies with a Shield, implying you must protect them! They will come with their own special pilot, and a free mech!!!! Check out EVERY resource mission you can. Especially in these early games!! It is usually a good idea to spend time jumping to EVERY system within the cluster. There can be hidden resource missions on systems that do not have any contracts. Always check them!!!!!!! ALSO, INVEST IN ECM BARA!!!! Having at least one light with ECM will help immensely with keeping your lance alive. Don't be afraid to head inwards in the sphere to get it, and come back. You'll have more than enough money, and enough time!
Never sell your Locusts, even if they are inoperable. You could’ve used it for a collect locusts Cantina mission and only sell it if you really need the money immediately. You can do the same thing with Cicadas, those missions seem to pop up frequently
Hyped that you finally got to play with a Raven when it's actually relevant! It's really goofy to only see them so late in the game that you're running nothing but heavy/assault mechs already.
hey bara! love your content, those fortress assaults are brutal. not sure if you'd consider it within the rules for your own run, but whenever i have a friendly mech about to crit i'll switch to that mech and eject (default keybind is ctrl+k), the mech gets recovered afterwards with a little extra cockpit damage for using the ejection seat and the pilot generally doesn't get banged up as bad as if you let the mech go down. tradeoff is of course that you lose a unit for the rest of the mission but it's saved me from financial disaster a few times in hard ealy games, and from losing a big investment mech late game. it's a pretty cool YAML feature - like how the enemy AI pilots can eject if you strip their weapons or overheat them really badly. keep on keeping on! you're the go-to mechwarrior content youtuber and the beard knots are kickass!
@@Baron-Ortega Not so terminal. You can recover even with 1 mech, as long as you play missions that have a decent number of allies (beachhead defense, battleground), a quick exploration, or even a recon if your mech has speed.
Lot's of good finds today! That Raven's got all the firepower of a wolverine 6M (the large laser variant), just not as much armor or heat sinking. The blackjack was also a great pickup. Coming with the engine intact really is the make-or-break at this stage of the game. I still say pull the cicada's engine out and stick it in the assassin.

Good video Bara. You did it! You're finally running a Raven! Unfortunately the 2X lacks the EWS that makes the Raven more survivable. Still good though. 🙂
Heya, there is two fairly newer mods you might want to check out. One that is working on adding the missing IS mechs from MWO. Its called "Yet another IS" mech. "Yet another legendary Mech" is adding hero variants from MWO. Both are on steam and nexus And one other mod on nexus called "Never meet your Heroes" that makes it so hero mechs can spawn on the field. Thats all, great stuff btw, never stop.
the early game leap when a bunch of stuff comes together all at once is always good. Also Black Jacks are so good at their roll I even use them vs Heavies til I get a Rifleman of course. Gimme 3 hunchies and a BJ and I'm solid.
Your face and especially the way you do your beard reminds me of a friend; blond; descended from German settlers; with a long beard bound with binders or something. :)
Loving this play through! I did the same challenge of only buying hero mechs. All others had to be salvaged. Made it challenging and fun! Can’t wait to see how it goes.
Note: Back in the day we used a term of measurement called, 'Pucker Factor' 1-10. when the action started heating up and you went into fight or flight mode... rather than the 'cheeks' it was centered around the defaction point! that's about as general of a description as I can get. when you got banged up by the BJ's pucker factor 8.
Blackjacks are great mech hunters. AI can be stupid, so if you can get behind them and stay behind them while they kite, you can backstab them really easily with lasers and machine guns
The weapons that appear to be lvl5 in shops and are ridonculously expensive as well as literall cheat labeled weapons are from clan invasion, and they are really unbalanced and take away the fun from progression. Even if they are really expensive, there isn't really that much satisfaction once you get them because they just allow you to drop assault mechs in seconds. Those weapons are Blind special and it's variants Chain cannon and it's variants Naval ppc(that is a little more balanced but still very good) Royal and corrosive heat sinks(they don't require their own kits from YAER and allow for more dissipation than double heat sinks, making them mostly obsolete) There are also pirate mechs that can exeed their mass by 100%(their rated mass is still say 50 for a centurion and so a 200 rated engine makes it run 64 kmh even tho it weighs 100 tons) Really, for balance and less confusion I'd suggest getting rid of the clan invasion mod, even if it meant starting a new playthrough. One, it doesn't really do what it says on the tin, it adds a lot of side content, and 2, it's really really really unbalanced and unclear on what is and it's unbalanced.
No that was the latest invention from the Beepole company. The whirligig, a ground breaking invention in electricity development during the time of the starleague, though the data on how to create these machines during the fall.
I believe there is a setting for how complete a mech will be when you assemble it from salvage. Might want to check it out if mechs are barely functional when assembled.
if you don´t want to use your marauder mechs you could salvage the parts in in it to improve your mechs a little. raven with XL engine helps in terms of cooling and better laser if you have them or srm
My biggest dream still is the frame of roguetech but the Missions itself are playable like mwo. Also of course with the roguetech mechlab. While i enjoy Mw5 i need to admit that die mwo Fights feel really tense and every mech counts. Maybe in some years i hope
Double check Urbies before selling. Pretty sure you sold a Pirate Urbie than can be overloaded. It's literally a Medium. Armor Quirks + Overload = Trashcan Shaped Shadowhawk. Urbies>All Lights and most Mediums.
Your content is so good I purchased MW5 and Dragon's Gambit. To mimic your experience I uploaded the mods you use. The game is not working. I asked for a refund on Steam. Sad. But your videos are awesome, so if I couldn't play I can still watch your top tier content.
for me with my new play thru i am just using Hero Mechs i can use a non hero till i get one then i have to change out a reg Mech for the Hero. makes for some strange and fun combat missions.
Could you possibly do a walk through on how you do your mods. I've spent the past 3 hours trying to get your mod collection to work (fresh install from steam) and the game always throws a low level fatal error ( something about a melee weapon or can't find superstruct line: 3146). It doesn't like yaml for some reason.
May i suggest to use mode to change mech market prices? I increased it to x5 and now it's reasonable to buy something only in specific cases. You can also adjust selling price if you would like, i'm currently selling mech at ~20% of it cost.

Bara needs a sticky note for that pilot search
Especially since his pilots all have multiple negative traits
I'm now ALL for this run.
the looted mechs only challange is a perfect touch and i love the grind.

I thought that was his ears 🤣

Baradul Series Bingo: Change headphone batteries during an episode. Check😁
Thanks for putting these out, I always enjoy your episodes.

At 21:00, weren't those buildings mech repair bays?
They were warehouses. Nearly the same building model, but shorter.
The blind specials are beyond barabroke's means until he starts running tier 80+ mission for a couple of months and does a spring cleaning.
Multi-missions out the Ying yang

All of the exploration missions (including fortress assault) never despawn, there's a set number of them and they are always in the same places.
Is there a chart out there showing where they are?

It seems you avoided the critical campaign whose 5 or so mission "Rescue the Mech Pilot" seems broken...can't finish it. Lame Intel!!!
