  • I went from having 24/7 light to not seeing any light for weeks. My Estate decided to mismanage our money so now we owe over 40 million Naira (close to $80,000) to the electricity company. So they cut us off. So I am running my generator daily 1pm-6am. It’s madness.

    Too bad these estate developers do shady stuff like these. If your meter is prepaid, you should be able to subscribe and pay directly to the private electric company as you buy and load your token!
    We, the home owners at my estate just recently formed an association and discovered a lot of abnormalities. We are in the process of taking over management of the estate from the developers.
    Good luck darlyn, you are doing well👏👏👏

      Home owners run the estate association, you have to live or have land in the estate to be on the Board. 😂 When our meter runs low, we send money to our estate association account then they give us a recharge card. So I am confused 🤔 how they can owe an electricity company over 40million naira. Like how?
      I would love to buy directly from the electric company but that isn’t possible right now. However maybe it will change because this is the most ridiculous situation. Can’t wait till I leave 🙏🏿🙏🏿. But I know so many people are pissed about this, so hopefully it won’t happen again.

      @@IveomaMedia pretty surprised that the HOA is the one running into this kind of debt!!! Am here blaming the estate developer.
      Am a board member of my HOA and never would allow a thing like this happen
      Most of us are abroadians, we run things differently. The mindset of board members helps a lot.

      @@RealTalk196 Most of the Board are Nigerians from abroad. LOL! This happened because no one was paying attention to the Board and their activities. But also, you know most Nigerian politicians have schooled abroad too and look at what they are doing.

      I was living on an estate with 24/7 light, my estate owe over 40 million naira so the private electricity company cut light to the entire estate.
      Check out my 2 years 4 months video, I explained why I am not in Abuja at the moment. I was there for 2 months.

    Story of my life 😩
    Girl this is one of the things I hate about Nigeria. I got a self serviced house which they said had a dedicated diesel gen 🙄. 14 days into me living there, the gen gave out.
    Come to find out the neighbors also have experienced the gen always giving out. So everyone got their own gen. To to sum it all up I have 3 gens and I finally got a solar powered inverter 🤦🏾‍♀️.

      I know this is a BIG problem in Nigeria.
      However, is there anything we could do as a people to change the situation? I’m just inquiring 🤷🏽‍♀️

    • @IveomaMedia
      @IveomaMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nigerians could push gov to restrict or ban generators, light problems will be solved after that. That’s the only real solution and it has to come from Nigerians pushing against these generator lobbyist/politicians who own generator companies. Maybe it’s coming I do see more underground electricity cables be installed all the time so let’s see.
