    I like the idea of an Eladrin so devoted to specific court that they can not allow themselves to feel certain emotions to prevent changing forms. A summer Eladrin who constantly suppresses sadness and mourning to not become Winter Eladrin.

    Their very nature is chaotic. This is reflected in optional daily changing of the seasons. If you don't allow that you're nurfing one of the Core Concepts of the race. You can't tell me that as a person you've never woken up in a different mood than when you went to sleep.
    Other than that I found this a fairly enjoyable and quite comprehensive video. Keep up the good work guys

      @Benjamin Ale this may be late however I have been planing to play an Eladrin Bard whose mood is mostly determined by the season, however like the previous comment mentioned one can wake up with a different mood or one may be affected by incident that happened and game mechanic wise I included it like this:
      Every Long Rest you have to roll a d6 in which 1-3 is the season in which currently is present and 4-6 are each one of the other season
      Example: it's springtime
      1-3 = Spring
      4 = summer
      5 = Autumn
      6 = Winter
      However you can ignore this role if something drastic happened before you took a long rest like if something made the Eladrin very angry like challenging his ideology and mocking it then the next day he will turn into his summer mood.

    The way I'm playing mine is a little different from the typical Eladrin. I'm sort of playing him ad having 4 separate personas that emerge when needed or certain conditions are met.
    Spring is his main personality. He is happy and always ready to crack a joke. This is also his youngest form. (In correlation with the seasons)
    Summer is awakened when something happens in game that gets him extremely angry. His personality is like an angsty teenager. Hot headed and full of himself.
    Autumn personality has not emerged, but would be present when he is truly content. (This one is a weird one that I havent hashed out completely yet)
    Winter awakens when his spring persona is in danger or when he is afraid. Vary similar to Killer Frost from DCs Flash. When the personality is dominant, he is cold calculating and ruthless. This is the "protector" persona and will not go away until he is satisfied that his spring persona will be safe. He is also the most mature of the 4 personas.

    This was a great resource guys! Much appreciated. Just getting back into the game since I was a kid and so much has changed. Just started a new campaign after DMing with my kids to relearn everything and I chose to be an Eladrin Wizard. Because They are essentially new to me I created a background that is open to me learning how to play the role. My character was found by an old wizard and fostered by him until he passed of old age; leaving me just as I come of age. My character does not know anything about his past before being found and does not really know what it means to be Eladrin. A twist I added so I can learn the traits myself as I play and research. Thanks to this video I think I will be mainly winter as I am filled with sorrow and dread and my shadowed past and have zero faith in religions of most sorts.

    For the AC question. The Bleeding Effect is what it's called when there's "spill over" from the genetic memories of your ancestors to your memories.
    The initial symptoms of the bleeding effect is inheriting your ancestor's skills and abilities. Sometimes the person will be so in sync with their ancestors that they'll start to experience their memories in dreams and even when awake, as hallucinations.
    It can get so bad that they lose themselves and they become unable to distinguish reality from memory.
    So far, in the AC series, this only happens if youre expeiencing the memories of your own ancestor through your genetic memories. Looking at memories via a DNA sample obtained from someone else has no great psychological effect.

    I'm making an Eladrin Ranger/Druid who's very fire themed. He'll be in Summer form the great majority of the time, but it would be cool to see some scenarios where his season would change in response to what's going on around him.
    Edit: Fey Wanderer/Circle of Wildfire, for anyone wondering.

    5:30 - I think the confusion comes from the myth of Kronos having eaten his children, and Zeus, who escaped this fate, tricking Kronos into drinking something that made him throw them back up.
    Long story short is that Kronos didn’t trust his kids not to try to overthrow him, ate them as soon as they were born to mitigate damage, but Rhea his baby Zeus, who eventually came back to free his siblings and together they overthrew him. Talk about creating your own enemies!

      I believe the Greek God Athena did have a similar birth to the elves, having popped out of Zeus' head after having a headache/a tumor of sorts. Either way her birth wasn't intentional. The headache/tumor formed because Zeus ate someone, I don't know what it is with the Greek people/pantheon and vore, but they eat that shit up (pun intended)!

    So to clarify, most of the titans were born, however when Cronos castrated Uranous when he went to procreate with Gaia some of hia blood spilled on the Earth and specific gods and monsters were born of this event. Also Uranus's bits fell into the sea and released a foam which gave birth to Aphrodite. You can see the same thing take place latter when a dragon is slain by Cadmus (Jason of Agro repeats this later) and they plant the teeth of the Dragon, giving birth to the Spartoi. I used this as the origin of the dragonborn in a Greco-Roman world I built. This process is called autochthones, people sprung from earth itself. The Titans are gegenes. These are literal descendants of Gaia.
    It ranks up there with Dwarves being the maggots that chewed on the flesh of Ymir in Norse myth. Body fluids being divine is one of the weirdest things out there.

    I was trying to find a character I can relate to and then I found this race Eladrin. I'm interested in making it a druid (circle of moon at 2nd level)
    Does it carry over the abilities/traits of an elf when making a character?

    • @stevenc4982
      @stevenc4982 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I think so. All elves get those abilities regardless of subrace so there shouldn't be a problem. However, I feel like Eladrin should have a bonus to Wisdom as they would make amazing druids. I mean, they literally represent the seasons.

    I have an Eladrin in my group, and we modified the changing colours to be confined to the eye colour and the tips of her hair. Green, yellow, auburn, white. Also we decided to fuse a skill profeciency to each season so when she changes season, she also changes a skill. That's in the text, but we felt it was a bit OP the way it was written, so we chose the skill proficiencies from her class not chosen, to be the ones that are interchangeable.
    And for flavor to her Fey Step, it gives off a cloud in the colours of the seasons. We haven't tested changing the seasons yet, so I'm excited to see how it plays out.

      That's what I thought in middle school... It's magical underground. With whole civilizations and ongoing terrain effects... And literally the DMG has a delineation about how tunnels near the surface, like those the dwarves and gnomes would love in, are regular underground. The Underdark is deeper than that, and where all the cursed and foul things from the bowels of the magical world fester and hate the world of light on the surface.
