    Very impressive work. It's a pleasure to watch someone who doesn't mind using a hand rake. Dodging that tree was a pain, for sure. Good job - just too bad your advice wasn't taken. Personally, I'm really appreciate it when someone like you suggests a quick & inexpensive preventative but I know how it goes!

    Pretty sure the concrete truck is not going to happen on that mush! 😂 that was a nice job for the coochie! Good vid too!
    It has been extremely wet here, ice yesterday, melted off today, I’m hoping to get back to my pad job soon.

    Just an observation, but you guys in the States don’t seem to use grading buckets (toothless buckets) on your excavators much, why is that? I’ve watched quite a few excavation videos and grading buckets don’t seem that common over there whereas they are over here in the UK. For a job like this where you are back filling dirt into trench off a lawn a grading bucket would be very useful and easier as you are less likely to rip the lawn up when trying to pick dirt up off the floor and you can tidy up neatly.

      79MBO yeah I just haven’t got one yet. It’s on the list of things to get. I’m actually planning to upgrade my excavator later this year and the sticks are different sizes so I’m trying to put it off

    Why not use sticks of PVC? Never been around that kind of pipe outside.

      kevin steen a lot of people use it around here. Supposedly it’s better or stronger than pvc and doesn’t have the joints in the pipe and it’s flexible

      matt minahan I don’t think I do yet. I think the only think I have filmed was cutting in an alley. I have done it before but it was a few years back and I wasn’t doing the TH-cam videos

      Robert Bradford the waterline is 36”-40” code here is 30” the sewer cane out to 24” I think a lot of guys around here only put them a foot deep

    Looks like your sewer line was not on the bottom of the trench, but spaced up by chunks of wood or something. Why wouldn't you put gravel in and compact it before backfilling?

      grayman74 it was, the guy I dug it for wanted to do it that way. I guess so his fall was dead on, they didn’t seem to concerned about it. This project has turned into the cheaper the better lol!

      @@eliteearthworksllc Pipe will sag and become plugged when you place dirt over 'bridged' pipe, a $100 shortcut that will cost $500+ in the future....but his money is green, so take it!

      Friday Adkins I thought he said it was sch 40, it was white not clear and seemed thicker than other pex I have messed with. I’m sure that really helped to answer your question lol

      Friday Adkins yeah I know this wasn’t the stiffest stuff or probably even commercial grade. I’ll see if I can find out exactly what it was

      Elite Earthworks LLC if it’s the same plumbers as the row house projects- they were using Upnor which is the expandable type A. If so it is really good quality stuff.

      B&B Drainage Solutions yeah the audio didn’t come out great on this one so I just speed it up. I need to get a mic where you can actually here me. I backfilled the sewer line I ran in a previous video then we dug in a water line to this addition. I’ll hopefully get a mic soon. Thanks again
