Hi there! I wanted to share my personal experience in regard to the smoke generator issue you've described at the end of the video. I recently purchased Marklin's 2021 surprise model Class 02 "Schorsch". It has dynamic smoke with a pulsed smoke generator synchronized with the wheels. I was very careful filling the smoke generator using the dropper provided with the model. I only used about 2 ml and did not overfill. However, as soon as I turned on the smoke, it started coming out from behind the wheels and nothing was coming from the smoke stack. This sounds exactly what you've described happened with your loco. I turned off the smoke generator and went to search the online forums for help. When I turned it back on almost an hour later, everything was working fine. However, the exact same thing happened again when I refilled it using the dropper. What I think was happening is the smoke liquid was preventing the air from the generator's reservoir from escaping when it was being filled. The smoke would accumulate inside and would be blown through the smoke generator itself when the fan activated (the fan that would exhaust smoke in pulses). If I waited for the liquid to slowly trickle down to the reservoir, the problem would fix itself after some time (usually 30-40 minutes).
Long story short, I got myself a 5ml medical syringe with a thick needle. While the needle is very thick for a syringe, it is still much, mush narrower than the dropper. I fill the smoke generator at the very bottom of the stack very slowly. This fixes the issue with the air bubble and the smoke generator works flawlessly immediately after being filled.
Hope this helps! Thank you again for all your videos! I truly learned a lot from you. Cheers!

Excellent - thanks for the tip. I believe the trick you describe using the syringe is to avoid air bubble forming in the reservoir. If there is an air bubble you get unpredictable results. Indeed I like your idea of using a syringe. Enjoy ;-)

Yep - nice locomotive. One thing that has surprised me afterwards is how big it is and how small it is... it is very long, but not very tall or wide as it was built for UK. This is also the case with the prototype. Enjoy ;-)

Hi Tracy, you can see the standard price on the Märklin website: Märklin 39063: www.maerklin.de/en/products/details/article/39063 However, look around you can find it cheaper at some dealers. Enjoy ;-)

Ups - price is no longer on the Märklin website. I seem to recall it was around EUR 400 - you can also find ESU Class 66 at around EUR 450. Enjoy ;-) Bo
