- The Brooklyn Nets lost at the Dallas Mavericks last night 96-94, and Kevin Durant missed his second of three free throws that could have sent the game to overtime, which snapped a streak of 62 consecutive free throws made. He then intentionally missed the third - the Nets got the rebound, but turned the ball over. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe discuss the climatic ending.

And it's not necessarily correct either. Dirk Nowitzki is a little taller and was at least as good a free throw shooter as Durant. Yes, over his career, Dirk is 0.6% behind Durant's average, but Dirk has held that average for so many more games/years. He had a streak of 82 consecutive made free throws and went 24/24 in a single game during his title run in 2011 (which funnily enough was against OKC and Kevin Durant). 😂

KD is really good clutch player. Even when he missed free throw last game, he is one of the greatest if not the greatest free throw shooter under presure ever. Durant hasn't buzzer beaters or tie game shots, but he was multiple times killer in last 5 minutes and even last 2 minutes of the closr games. Against Miami in 2012 in game 1, Durant had 17 points in 4th quarter. That's the definition of clutch. How you play in 4th quarter says how clutch you are.

Literally the difference between them is one miss free out of a thousand free throw attempts. However did you consider Curry had an NBA father who was one of the best shooters every teaching him how to shoot. He had access to NBA gyms, coaches and players even as a kid, modern shooting coaches and techniques that Price didn't have access to and two decades of techniques that were developed after Price played. Mark Price misses only more free throw per 1000 even though he had none of Curry's advantages growing up or in the NBA. Sometimes numbers don't tell the whole story.

Luka did outplay KD, but to be fair the Mavs have double team KD every SINGLE time he gets the ball. They have done it twice now and it's working. It's up to KD and the coaching staff to figure it out, but it definitely slowed him down.

Right now Luka is the MVP this season, there’s no other player playing like him right now. He’s easily a top 5 player currently, he’s outplaying Giannis by a mile.
