    I like this its the same thing I do in Fl studio cause I use mpc one too also and fl studio. it's just in fl studio you can do it much faster. But I like this video cause I bought the mpc one a month ago and learned how to use it within a month. Im loving the MpC one and Fl studio . I got the best of both worlds.

    The easiest way to arrange on the Mpc live or x is to do everything in one sequence and put your bar count up to whatever length your song is. Song mode is annoying and audio tracks works better in the daw not the hardware

    On the mpc beats software, u can do the same thing and work with midi when arranging songs into parts like intro, chorus, verse, etc. I think u can do it in the software too if u click the arrow on the far right of the home (the second one after the loop button) u can set it to song mode and arrange the midi tracks. Doubling doesn’t separate the audio, it just duplicates the sequence and adds it to the next sequence. I disagree on working with audio tracks being better than working with midi because u can’t edit audio tracks unless u have protools and u can edit the key of a vocal track. If it was possible to change audio files than any wave/mp3 file can be editable but it isn’t. With midi, u can change the key, note, etc. and that can change everything and give u more control…..

    • @doswellbeats
      @doswellbeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Goby G-Major thanks for watching and commenting on the video I appreciate it. You can change the key of a audio by changing the simi tone. Sometimes the vst can get messed up and if you did any tweaks to the sound you can’t get it back to the exact same thing. But if you bounce it to audio it preserves the original sounds. I appreciate your comment bro 👍🏾🙏🏾

    I mean this is what I been wanting to do my entire beat making career , I like the other video where you just bounced anything to audio to have markers and work with midi just like you work with audio it seems a little quicker it cuts out the bounces but I like how audio can be moved are should I say pushed back and it stays in line , was It something special you did because sometime it moves the entire wrap but then sometime it just pushed the notes you didn't want out of the way around 11:25 is where you started moving the audio back as opposed to moving the entire bar around, but these videos open people who don't know the basics of software up to the possibilities , because like you said song mode isn't as flexible and like this you can listen and edit as the entire song plays without having to assign a sequence to a location and do it over and over.

    • @doswellbeats
      @doswellbeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just select the time signature you want 1/4, 1/16, 1/32 or a bar. Then move the mouse to the left end of the audio clip near the bottom and click and drag to right or left. Thanks for watching and commenting on the video bro 👍🏾🙏🏾

  • @basstradamus1
    @basstradamus1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for sharing your worklfow. MPC is clearly missing better multirack arrangement options. That's why you go to audio. Unfrotunatelly this is a problem with synths and automation as once you bouced to audio all this flexibility is lost. If they add one thing, multi track midi arangement then problem will be solved.

    Interesting to see how you do it....tried it a few times but for me the song mode works wonders. overall though, I think this is one area Akai needs work to work on. Doin it like this is not really practical --say you need to correct something within the beat itself now you have to start all over again for that specific track....Good video showing your style tho!

    • @doswellbeats
      @doswellbeats  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    If I create a sequence with a kick and a hi--hat, for example. How would I know when I need a new sequence? Should every different sound (instruments, etc) be on their own track in the sequence they are playing? Somebody told me to think of a sequence as the pattern that is playing, if you change patterns that's a new sequence. Does that sound right?

      Then hit CRTL+V
      To copy by bars on the same track for instance if you want to copy the midi from bar one to bar two
      Select bar one and hit CRTL+D. I will be making a video about shortcuts soon hit the bell 🔔 notification so you can know when I post that video 👍🏾🙏🏾

    I dont understand why people would work this way in MPC? Because it is fast to move stuff around on screen with a mouse? You lose so much ability to shape and sculpt the sounds once you bounce it to audio. Its frozen forever whereas MIDI preserves its ability to sound like...anything. This video isnt bad technique necessarily but it would be the absolute last thing id do before mixing if i used it to arrange. I find MPC Software works best with the controller and the keyboard and you touch the mouse as little as possible. My two cents as somebody who makes garbage.

    • @doswellbeats
      @doswellbeats  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment I appreciate 👍🏾 everyone work in different ways I never said this was the best way but this is my way how I do it I like to work with audio especially inside the mpc software because the midi doesn’t have a wrapper around it but the audio does and I don’t like the song mode inside the mpc software or hardware so I use the audio. Everything is not for everyone. That’s just my work flow. Thanks again for watching and commenting I appreciate it 🙏🏾👍🏾🙌🏾

      @@doswellbeats I agree that song mode isn't great and I primarily use sequences as "work spaces" for my main sequence. However, I would point out that when you're in Track View for the midi tracks you can use your mouse to highlight bars (across multiple tracks) in a wrapper, and cut, copy, paste and drag those events around the time line and across the tracks. It's not the best UI but it can do it. I appreciate you. I learned a lot from this video.
