Install a light fixture that hugs the ceiling. One that doesn't hang down. You can find something really beautiful to compliment the room. OR install recessed lighting throughout the ceiling in the room. Several light switches or dimmers can adjust the amount of light in the room as well as where you would prefer the room to be lit at any time.

Ick finde Kitsch supa !!! Meine Wohnung is volla Kitsch, die meiner engelischen Lebensjefährtin ooch. Ick bastle obendrein kitschige Skulpturen und Useless Zeugs und faschenke dit anne Leute uffe Insel hier die wo den Kram inne Wohnung stellen tun. Ick möchte ma nüscht fühlen wie zu Zeiten als icke noch Bank-Azubi war oda als icke als Student in sehr trostlosen Fabriken jearbeitet habe.
