The site of the Holy Sepulchre was outside the ancient city, though still on Mt Zion. When Empress St. Helena found the 3 crosses buried at the foot of Golgotha, she found the True Cross worked a miracle (raised a dead man, or cured a dying man). Pretty strong confirmation that the site marked by the pagan temple and carefully guarded and transmitted memory is the real site.

I'm a protestant. Having lived there before, visited both places and spent much time researching and investigating, I must say that the Garden Tomb sounds like a ridiculous candidate for Golgotha. Here's my theory:
    1. The protestants arrived on the scene late, like 1,500 years late
    2. They saw that everyone already had a slice of the pie
    3. They too wanted a slice of the pie
    4. The Garden Tomb was created as a result
It's a very nice place, no doubt. But I can hardly believe it's Golgotha...

I love visiting the church of the holy sephlecure (sp) each time, regardless of whether it’s factual or not. should be exciting though, that while these might not be the exact places, they are more than symbolic: they historically overlap with the exact places. even if the garden is not the exact place, it is close to where it was, and it recreates the environment and how it looked and felt.

This video is spot-on. I'm a protestant and visited the Garden Tomb. I can understand the attraction to it because it definitely has more of a consistency with the Bible describing a surrounding garden. However what the Protestants don't understand is that the currently existing walls of Jerusalem are NOT the same walls that existed in the 1st century AD. The current walls were built by a Sultan in 1537 AD. The original walls of Jerusalem were much more in the interior of the city than the current walls are, which puts the Church of the Holy Sepulchre OUTSIDE the original city walls. Also there have been found other tombs dating to 1st century AD right in the same proximity as the Holy Sepulchre, proving again that in the time of Jesus, the Holy Sepulchre site was outside the city walls.

Thank you for this episode! I was there to the Garden Tomb. I certainly saw the small cliff which deserves the name 'Skull' because I did see the giant eye sockets and the nose holes. But you're right. Place isn't important at all. I am very excited about your next episode! I wonder what are the biblical obstacles for sincerely truthful God seeking Israel people to not know that God's spiritual Kingdom has started already by Jesus.. Daniel 2:34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands(Jesus), which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

But he used Gordon's tomb and another to show how the actual tomb would have appeared before it was razed to erect a church building.

When Ron Wyatt's team was cleaning the area in and around the Garden Tomb. A man in a white robe came to the to the team to thank them for cleaning his tomb. I would have passed out, but the men were shocked to see this man. Ron went back to the entrance area to ask if anyone saw the man in the white robe, and they said there was no man of that description. You make your own decision as the team did who this man was in a white robe. If you are like me, the answer is easy, and it locked the Garden Tomb in as the real tomb of Jesus.

The garden location is quite obscure makes sense since no one ones around when the angels rolled the stone away except obviously the roman guards. So it doesn't seem the most obviously place wouldn't be the Most obviously place.... Only idiots ignore the details

If are born again and you have the Holy Spirit living in you, you can know which is the right tomb of Jesus. When I was a young Christian and saw a video of the Garen Tomb for the first time. I knew immediately when I saw it that it was Jesus' tomb. And I don't doubt it even now. I believe Holy Spirit knows better than anyone else. Even better than scientist. Some dating methods of scientist are not accurate and we cannot blindly belive in those anyway. So I trust in what God revealed to me rather than what people say and what people think of it.
But most important is that Jesus has resurrected! ❤️🙌

I don’t view the garden tomb as the real official tomb for biblical and historical reasons. The tomb is 7-8 centuries older than Christ, the garden didn’t exist during Christ but during the crusades, and the skull rock probably was not there during the time of Christ. However even though I don’t think it is the real one, it is a visual representation of what it was like. I treat it as virtual reality, it isn’t real but you still get the experience. And Christ has risen.

I also love the Church of the Holy Sepulchre but not for the dark room (tomb) that can be visited which is kind of eerie but for the architecture which I took time to explore on my second visit there. It is amazing to see all the rooms, nooks and crannies of that building which you would have no idea was inside from looking at the outside. Thanks again for another awesome tour! Well said showing the facts as ee know them. It's so hard to see how the church site dimensions would have worked out, i.e. Crucifixion site distance to tomb is so close...

ONE FOR ISRAEL Ministry channel is an amazing resource for those who are curious about Jesus and Christianity from an Israeli/Jewish perspective.

There's only one legitimate candidate for the real Tomb of Jesus between these two options and the authentic one is absolutely the Holy Sepulchre.

I really appreciate that you are straightforward in most issues. About this video, the "huge and historical" problem with catholic church is that they invent and create their own doctrines, traditions and stories!
Personally, I don't believe anything coming from catholic church!
It is clear that they "have created and designed" their own "Jesus/Mary routes".
We all know that Constantine and his mother built churches upon some sites that 👉they said were "holy places".
If someone will ask me to choose between the "catholic Holy sepulchre" or the Garden Tomb, based on the evidence and info that we have at hand, I'll say right away: Garden Tomb!
Yes, you're right! We don't have enough evidence to be highly certain about some biblical places, but let say that, the "margin of error" is way less on the Garden Tomb!

You do a very good job documenting areas of curiosity to those who cannot make it to Israel to visit these spots such as myself who would one day love to go to Israel. But for now your videos do a very good job capturing each subject you talk about and only those subjects and areas that lead up to the subject. Very good. Thank you and keep up the awesome work!

Very nice video and I really admire your courage in being neutral when talking about religion.
My Gal was born in Iran and now lives in Canada. She believes in Zoroastrianism and Islam but is not very overly Orthodox. Most Iranians are not religious zealots but just want a peaceful life.
My Brother in Law is from India and Sikh but again not very overly Orthodox. Canada is very peaceful when it comes to tolerating religious differences and I admire what you do.
I look forward to your next video and it is nice to see someone who does not have extreme all or nothing views.

The Garden Tomb was analyzed by Israeli archaeologist Gabriel Barkay and dated it to the 8th-7th centuries B.C. The re-use of old tombs was not an uncommon practice in ancient times, but this would seem to contradict the biblical text that speaks of a new, not reused, tomb made for himself by Joseph of Arimathea (Matthew Chapter 27 Verse 57-60, John Chapter 19 Verse 41). Also, the trough in front of the tomb and the nearby cistern, described by proponents of the Garden Tomb as part of the tomb's sealing system and as the surrounding garden's source of water, respectively, have both been archaeologically dated to the Crusader period (12th-13th centuries).
    Barkay concluded that:
    1) The tomb is far too old to be the tomb of Jesus, as it is typical of the 8th-7th centuries BCE, showing a configuration which fell out of use after that period. It fits well into a wider necropolis dating to the First Temple period which also includes the nearby tombs on the grounds of the Basilica of St Stephen.
    2) The groove was a water trough, built by the 11th-century Crusaders for donkeys/mules.
    3) The cistern was built as part of the same stable complex as the groove.
    4) The waterproofing on the cistern is of the type used by the Crusaders, and the cistern must date to that era.
