I have been watching a lot of different videos on loose roses. So far this is the closest to realistic roses (the fourth one is) so I think I will try doing this. Thank you for sharing.
Lol. When you said “and stuff” I kind of giggled to myself and then you mocked yourself right then too. Right there with you. Lol. Thanks for the lesson. Love the third and fourth
Absolutely love this tutorial. I want to paint a rose/roses for my Grandaughter (birth flower) and this has given me so much confidence to get going 🤗. Thank you
Wow Sally! Thank you so much! I also did a more in depth tutorial on tips for roses you might like linked below. When I first started watercolour, roses were my biggest challenge. Now it’s peonies😳 th-cam.com/video/4RGl3rKRXeE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZhmtaOk5vT7MUO-m
Oh thank you so much!!! I actually do want to do a tutorial of roses at different growth stages so hopefully you will see it soon! And thank you so much for subscribing!!
Hi Erin, they're all pretty! My favorite is the 4th one. I like the loose style with a little more detail. I'm so glad you gave us 4 to practice with! 😊
I have just started trying watercolor because I love the looseness and softness of the flowers. I love roses and this has helped be greatly. Watching tutorials on instagram, they go so face that I could not pick up on where to properly lay your petals. Such a simple step that will make all difference in the world !!! 😀
Super tutorial! Thank you so much. I’ve been struggling to find a reason why my roses were not well defined and you’ve given me so many specific things to try-please keep teaching-you’ve got a gift! Thanks again!
Oh, what a nice thing to say! Thank you Nicole😊 I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. If you are still struggling a bit, I just recently did a follow up video on roses with some more tips you might like. Happy painting!😊😊
2 and 4 my faves. Thank you. I spent 2 nights doing one rose that came out really uninteresting after doing a great drawing. So I will defo try you free style technique... Just after dinner. Thank you
Thanks so much Kate😊 I hope you’re happy with your results! Playing around with loose roses for a bit is sure to help when you want to tackle another realistic one👍
I love painting florals. Thank you so much for the rose tutorial. They're lovely! I'm looking forward to painting lots of roses this summer when my backyard roses bloom! :) I subscribed also.
I just found your channel! #4 is what I aspire to. Nice that you shared that they don’t always turn out for you😊 I hope that you continue tutorials in 2022!
This is incredible I just love it Im going to try the 3rd one cause I did something like that but I know now where I made my mistakes. Thank you. I subscribed you now
Hello Erin! Hope you're well! Thanks for your precious tips! You're so spontaneous that I've tried your "Technique" ! Above all the one on your fourth rose, using two different brushes and to hold the brush less tight for the petals in curves. I really enjoyed following your tuto. Please can you tell me how to send you a picture of my rose so you could tell me what to improve? Have a nice day! Heidi
Oh that’s wonderful Heidi! It makes me so happy when people try out my tutorials! Are you on Instagram? If you are then you can share your pic there and tag me @erinenocreates. I would love to see your roses! If you’re not on Instagram, but you have a photo sharing account like Flickr etc, you should be able to post a link to it in a comment 😊
@@ErinEnoArt Super! See you on Instagram then! I think I'm going to try your tuto about the anemone which I find so delicate! But before I'm going to make your Valentine card. Great idea!
Glad I found your channel. I do have problem of painting roses, somehow I cannot get them to look like a rose:! I just cannot get the right move of the brush to get that loose, light, organic look, I guess I am too heavy handed… i just need to use the 100% cotton paper I guess.
Hi Marija, I’m glad you found my channel too! And thank you so much for subscribing! Because looses roses are painted so quickly, you can get some decent results on non cotton paper. Sometimes, holding the brush too tight can be a problem, so maybe try holding it a little further back on the handle. Or, if your brush has fairly stiff bristles, try switching to a softer one. Also keep in mind that there are good and bad non cotton papers. I don’t like the results I get on the Canson XL, but the Strathmore 400 series paper is quite nice. I hope that helps😊
@@ErinEnoArt yes, definitely it helps! Thanks so much! I am always debating whether I could use the Arches to learn and to get better results, but my goodness, that paper is so expensive! It’s like no win situation: if you don’t use it, you never get the best result, if you use it and mess it up, is throwing money down the drain:))))
It is intimidating because of the cost but it is never a waste if you are enjoying painting. But, realistically, using expensive paper to learn on can give you the guilts lol I do use Arches but, primarily I use the Bauhong Academy because it is really good paper and a little cheaper. I really recommend the Strathmore 400 series though. If you are on Instagram, let me know how you make out😊
