Though we've never met, the connection that is forged through a shared pursuit towards a common goal is so special and meaningful... Thank you so much for taking a moment to come back to this channel to share the great news- It makes all the difference for me and gives me the motivation to keep going! Again, congratulations!! It's time to celebrate!!!!!
I thought even as an ortho surgeon I never really understood the Klienert and Duran's protocol ,neither any of my boss couldn't answer me ,they thought i was too theoretical .However now as a hand fellow I came across ur flexor tendon video and has benefitted me ,I won't ever forget now ,so easy !!! All the best !
Miri your videos are so beyond helpful in studying for the NBCOT!! I take the exam one month from today and am so appreciative of all your tips and help!! Thank you so much!
That's so wonderful to hear, Kayla! It makes me so happy to hear that my resources are helping the OT community and it makes all the energy and time I put into these videos worth the effort! Thank you for connecting with me and sharing your feedback. So you test on July 5? I will be thinking of you Kayla!! You don't need me to wish you luck, because you, just as you are, are enough to pass this exam! It's YOUR year! GO CONQUER IT!!
I know I've thanked you a whole bunch in other videos but I'm going to do it again! I passed my exam about 2 months ago and I'm already working as a PRN and I love it! I'm convinced 100% that your videos were essential in helping me to retain the information I needed to pass the test. So thanks again for taking the time and putting all the hard work into these videos. They are wonderful! Probably going to go for my OTR eventually so I'm sure I'll revisit these often, lol. You rock Miri!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so happy I can cry!! Thank you for coming back here to share this wonderful news with me! What you wrote is very gracious, but ultimately, YOU did it! Your determination, resourcefulness, discipline and practice led you to where you are today and I am SO proud of you! This is just the beginning of all the great things that'll come your way and I will pray that you will continue to come across people, places and opportunities that help you to thrive. Take good care my friend. It's been wonderful sharing this journey with you and I really hope this isn't a good bye, but a beginning to a beautiful friendship that will one day end up with us meeting in person!! Please keep in touch and let me know how things are going every now and then. I'll miss you.
Hi Miri - I've just started studying for the OTR exam and your videos definitely make studying for fun and bearable...especially on the topic of hands. I shall never ever forget the tendon gliding dance ever again!! Thank you so much :)
Oh that's wonderful to hear, Stacey! These are the very resources I wanted when I was preparing for the board, so I promised myself that if I pass, I will always set aside time in my schedule to give back somehow. I'm so happy and grateful to have a platform to share my story and to connect with future OT/OTAs through our shared passion and journey. So thank you for being here and for taking a moment to connect with me!
I am working my way through your videos as I am getting ready for my exam, and I am loving them. I have learned so much from you and had fun doing it. I will never forget these tendon gliding exercises now. :) You are the best.
For the last position: once you have your nice tabletop dinner you enter into a relationship (straight fist). It's like the butterfly, keep them close but don't squish them.
Jessica, this is great!! ha! I love it! hmmm, I wonder if I can edit this video to put that little snippet in there... Thank you for this Jennifer- brought a smile to my face! xoxo
LOL! I just love the tendon gliding dance! Not going to forget that one now! Thanks Miri! I've been using your hands and UE videos this morning to review the content I studied yesterday and it is helping to cement this information.
Oh good!! Whatever helps to make the information stick, right? I'm happy to know you're using these videos to supplement your studies and finding them useful. Thank you for leaving a comment and taking a moment to connect with me, Stacie!
Congratulations, Daniel! That's wonderful to hear and I'm so happy you came back here to share this exciting news! This is the very reason for why I started this TH-cam channel and I'm grateful to have been able to share this journey with you, Daniel. Good luck in all your future endeavors and I hope you'll continue to stay connected with me. Until we meet at an AOTA conference, big cyber hug and high five! GO CELEBRATE!!!
Miri, Thank you SO much for taking the time to make all of these videos. They have been very helpful in studying for the NBCOT. I just discovered your channel through a friend a few days ago and I take the exam in 10 days! I wish that I found your channel earlier in my studies, but I am just grateful I found out about you! Your videos are so easy to follow and you can tell you are passionate about the field of OT. Can't wait to join the field in a few weeks as a COTA- crossing my fingers that I pass!! Thanks again!! :)
Hi Sara! How are you? Thank you for leaving a comment and your feedback. I enjoy hearing from the community and being able to connect. And I'm so glad you found my channel and are finding it helpful! I'm a visual and auditory learner so these are the sort of resources I really wanted when I was preparing for the exam- it gives me great joy to be able to give back and connect to the OT community through our shared passion and journey. And when I get messages like this, it reinforces my passion and let's me know that my work is not in vain. So thank you, Sara! I will be thinking of you these next 10 days leading up to your exam and rooting for your success! COTA here we come!!! I feel a surge of optimism in the air!!! With much love, Miri

awww, I appreciate your love!! Thank you for being here and for all your comments and engagement. Let's me know I'm not speaking (or dancing) in an empty cyber room :)
Miri, I passed my COTA Exam the first time! Thank you for all of the Knowledge you shared! What I love about you is that you are straight to the point but you are informative; nothing is left out of your videos! I couldn't be more pleased with your way of explaining and the use of visuals. Please continue to share your knowledge! You are truly making a difference. Lastly, I'm struggling with finding the setting best for me as a new grad, I'm praying for guidance. I really want to do travel therapy and I also think staying in my city doing home health would be great.Mybgeart desires to get up and go but I'm slightly scared. I would like to know how you determined which setting was best for you. Also, do you know any amazing travel companies that hire new grads?
Congratulations, Deanna! The NBCOT journey is not easy- the fact that you achieved this milestone speaks highly about your commitment, intelligence and dedication. I'm so excited for you and all that you'll experience as you begin your career and explore the many different areas our profession has to offer. In terms of choosing the practice setting, I think there are several factors to consider. In my life, personally, I've always been one to take on new paths or challenges that are somewhat unpopular or less traveled. I enjoy charting my own path and stepping in the unfamiliar because it keeps me on my toes and allows me to discover new heights and horizons. The only reason I didn't take a travel position is because I got married and didn't have it in my heart to leave my husband just shortly after our honeymoon : ) Having said that, if you are considering travel therapy, here is an article that talks about the pros and cons of travel therapy and also lists some recommended travel companies. otpotential.com/blog/2015/1/17/8i4brhj9jtduczaijdzmuo92ci9l6w. Please feel free to share your stories and adventures as they unfold! I'd love to hear how you're enjoying your first job as a COTA! And no matter where you land, don't be scared. If you saw yourself as others see you, you would know that there is nothing between you and greatness. You've already come so far, achieved great milestone, and have done all this in great faith. Your future looks bright to me. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, Deanna. With much love~

Quick question, is there a difference between tendon gliding, natural gliding and Medial nerve gliding exercises, or are they all the same ?
Love this video

End could be hand hug goodbye! :)
Yes!!
Thanks
Wonderful 😍
You lead them STRAIGHT to the door....LOL! JK
Last one: you'll rake in the check to pay for the meal for you and your new friend!
I love it, Abriel!! So much creativity all around. Gotta love occupational therapy : )
the last step to help remember can be "show me your nails, like engagement ring ready" after the nice table top dinner!!
oh nice, I like! Thanks for sharing, Caroline!
The last sign is the classic hitchhikers signal to catch a ride home bc you clearly drank too much and spent all your money on your date.
hehehe I love all these creative endings to the unfinished story!
last step: the restaurant folds the table to close up ;)
That was super cute
and the straight fist can be "you fell for them!"
Ha! I like that! I could not think of anything for the life of me! See? This is why we need each other : )
haha OTs are the best I'm so glad I got into this career!
Full fist, they are locked in! Hahaha
