I learned how to do that living there. I could do the 11 around, but not the 12th on the top
i just learned they get paid by the beer, one beer they make 50-60 cents on it so they make a small fortune some up to 10k in 16 days...so from that money you could buy new arms :D

honestly if anyone ever asked me what bavarian culture is i´d just show them this clip. Fun fact in many families you´re taught from a very young age how to carry many glasses at once at family partys... i know me and my cousins were lol
Yeah a friend of mine was working at the Oktoberfest. She made 10k in 3 weeks BUT had work every single day for 3 weeks, staring at 7 am leaving at around midnight and she was walking around 30-50km everyday, carrying the beers, the food and anything else. Also dealing with drunk people for every single day is hard. It is an insane exhausting job but she made 10k in 3 weeks

2:50 Kara is looking fabulous in that Lindl! I went to Oktoberfest in 2018 and the weather was much better. It was the very last day of the festival, Oct 2., so it wasn't as full, which was a bonus. Those overly crowded tents are overwhelming. I think one can't really enjoy himself as much in a crowded place like that.

Nate+Cara!! Loved your visit to Octoberfest.. Courtesy of the US Army, I was able to catch the 1972 Octoberfest in Munich.. I see the beer steins have not gotten any smaller. Sure hope you guys paced yourselves on that killer German beer. If you're not used to it, and haven't eaten before imbibing it, it does kick your behind.. Keep the great videos!!!!
I went to the Schottenhamel tent the first day of Oktoberfest in 2018 and it was crazy! Total mad dash to the tent when they started letting people in. Easily one of the coolest experiences of my life!!

What you have ate was a "Münchner Weißwurst" that only means "White Sausage from Munich" And that's not a traditional German food, it is a Bavarian food;) I liked your vid very much! Sorry for my bad english😬

Yes, but usually, especially with Americans, people have a misconception, thinking that all of Germany is like Bavaria which is completely wrong. That's probably what he wanted to address! The Weißwurst is a rather regional dish, but you it's not typical outside of Bavaria, so you can't generalise it as a typical German food. Typical Bavarian food is much more correct!
You seem well informed! I’m German and my Oma would always get what we call is gritswurst (I apologize if I butchered the spelling). It would be eaten out of the casing. Think there is a grain with it. Have you heard of it? Much appreciated!!

It used to take place in Oktober, but because the weather switched over the decades, they deside to push it forward. But the last weekend is always the first October Weekend.
Big Rip, Europe is not a month ahead of everyone. When I went to Germany to visit my Grandmother, it was May and in Germany it was May.
Recently stumbled upon your vlog, have to say im a big fan :). I was there at Oktoberfest this year on the first day as well but didnt get a table :(. Settled for beer outside in the rain. went again on monday and got a table in two tents (Augustiner and one more). Amazing experience! Did you guys check out any of the beer garderns? The Chinese one in the english gardens was especially nice.

So cool that you're going to the O'fest! I have been there five different years, once I went for a week. Much too much! It is crazy fun though and the food and bier are exceptional. Paulaner is by far my favorite! I was always amazed at the women who could carry sooo many liters of bier! Crazy respect!

Was this the first press pass, technically? Monumental, even though Oktoberfest is so crowded it's way lower on my list now than it was when I was younger. I did Bavarian beer halls in the spring and I feel like I got the best out of the experience without the immense crowds. Bavarian beer really is delicious, definitely worth drinking a stein as big as your head!

Were going to be there in 5 days for our Honeymoon. Do you remember exactly where you got your attire?
Europe is the best place for travel hacking! (Sometimes you don't even need to do the hacking part!) I got a flight from London to Paris 30USD on Ryanair one way and on the way back 40USD with easy jet!. These U.S carriers are trying to charge me 70USD from Chicago to New York No way! And where I live in Hawaii the cheapest flight you can find to any other island is 72USD at best! Such a rip off!

München is a good time. After O'Fest next time, y'all go into town in the altstadt part and hit the nice beer halls (Münchener bierhalle). Lots of cool places to have a good time if you have to get out of the weather. Schneider Weiss, Hofbräu, Lowenbräu, Paulaner, Augustiner, etc.... Skál og Prost!

Ach, I am so jealous. I nearly went to Oktoberfest at the age of 4 with my parents whilst living in France 1959-61, never have been back to Munich. Love the German food, beer, and culture.

Started watching this video and just remembered i still had a Spaten Oktoberfest Beer in my frig so I cracked it open now drinking it watching this video. :)

We had reservations at the Hofbrau tent and my wife just had to have a dirndl to wear as our tour guide explained Oktoberfest history and traditional Bavarian dress the day before. The music and the service was outstanding. You have to actually be in a beer tent to believe how much fun it is to be at a spirited table full of strangers getting plastered. After our time had elapsed the tour director took us to the midway where we had passes to the large Farris wheel, the 5 loop roller coaster, bumber cars, a spinning ride, and a funhouse that was politically incorrect for Americans as it had the floor fans to blow dresses up that our carnivals had when our grand parents were young. Most of the women on the tour were unaware that funhouses in Europe had such trick devices. The fans with that updraft wind current was very strong. Of course the floor was moving and there were various obstacles that made you hold on to rails. I suspected the air blasts but my wife was one of the first victims, Her dirndl flew up and covered her face. When ever a ladies' panties were exposed the operator rang a bell and blew a horn. Many women wear dirndls (Bavarian Dresses) over there so my wife got over her embarrassment quickly but our group alone got the horn and bell treatment five times, but my wife knew that the horn and bell meant she had given intimate exposure right when she heard it.
Germany has so so much more to offer than Oktoberfest, beer and Weißwurst!!! We have beautiful nature, two tiny “oceans” and an interesting culture that is not all about beer.

Fantastic Vlog! My wife and I are going this year and planning to head to opening ceremonies so this is right up our alley. However, Kara made a comment about not getting in trouble for her camera once she received the media credentials. What did you mean about getting in trouble with your camera? I'm planning to bring mine and I've been trying to find the rules and regulations regarding it but haven't found anything. Also, I read that we may need to get there 4 hours early on Saturday to have a shot at the Schottenhamel. I think you guys got there 2 hours early. Do you have any other recommendations for a couple who definitely wants to the first keg tapped? Thanks so much for this! Great job. Really cute couple.
